Chapter 32: What kind of organization is “Night Raid”?
Lin Mo left the inn, setting his sights directly on the Ding Manor.
When the Ding Manor’s attendants blocked him, he didn’t have the patience to wait for them to go in and relay his message this time.
His body moved, and he bypassed the guards.
Following the Liuli Sword’s prompt, he headed towards the place within the manor with the densest yin energy.
Finally, he arrived at an underground chamber.
“Yin Gathering Array!”
Lin Mo immediately recognized the problem with this underground chamber.
In the center of the chamber, there was an ice coffin, and inside it lay a female corpse.
Lin Mo had his answer; this was likely Old Master Ding’s daughter.
Just then, an anomaly occurred. The female corpse suddenly opened her eyes and leaped towards Lin Mo.
“Ghoul.”
Lin Mo was not flustered. He sidestepped the corpse’s attack slightly and grabbed her by the neck with one hand, lifting her high.
“I know you can talk. Tell me, where are my junior sisters?”
“Mmm… Mmm!” The corpse let out a low growl, expressing her displeasure. “You’re choking me, how am I supposed to talk?”
Lin Mo didn’t realize the issue and tightened his grip. “If you don’t talk, I’ll make you a headless corpse!”
“Immortal Master, stop! Please don’t harm my daughter!” Steward Ding rushed to Lin Mo’s side, saying nervously, “I, I know where your junior sisters are.”
Only then did Lin Mo loosen his grip, casually tossing the corpse onto the ground, and coldly looking at Steward Ding.
“Father, this person is so rude!” the ghoul complained to Steward Ding. “I was still cultivating, and this person barged in, choked me, and told me to speak. Isn’t that making things difficult for a ghost?”
Steward Ding swallowed and comforted her, “Don’t be scared, don’t be scared, Father is here…”
He was also frustrated. Weren’t they told that the honorable master’s junior sisters had sneaked out?
How did they find their way to his doorstep?
“Immortal Master, your junior sisters broke into my Ding Manor last night and were taken away by Tang Da.”
“Tang Da?”
“The big man who clashed with your junior sisters the day before yesterday.”
Lin Mo now knew who was being referred to.
“Where were they taken?” Lin Mo asked, his face grim.
“They were likely sent to the organization ‘Night Raid’ to be auctioned off as goods,” Old Master Ding said.
“What kind of organization is ‘Night Raid’?” Lin Mo’s original memory held no information about this organization.
When the man named Tang fled using a high-quality talisman, he knew the force behind him was not simple.
“I don’t actually know much. I only know they are involved in the underground human trafficking business in Daliang City.”
Human trafficking…
This meant “Night Raid’s” actions were no different from those of Demonic Cultivators.
It was probable that it was an organization founded by a group of Demonic Cultivators.
“Then who helped you set up your ‘Yin Gathering Array’?”
This Yin Gathering Array was set up very ingeniously. Lin Mo didn’t believe that ordinary person like Old Master Ding could have arranged it.
“That, I also spent a large sum to hire people from ‘Night Raid’ to set it up,” Old Master Ding replied.
Lin Mo looked at the ghoul beside Old Master Ding and said softly, “Human and ghost paths are different. You turning your daughter into a ghoul is harming her!”
Hearing this, Old Master Ding’s tone suddenly became agitated. “Immortal Master, my daughter and I were both kind people. We never did anything harmful or wicked, and we always helped the needy. Yet, my daughter suffered such a terrible fate!”
“That day, my daughter went to meet a poor wretch named Ai privately. That young master lured my daughter to the back mountain, intending to commit an indecent act. Who would have known they encountered bandits midway? That wretch named Ai ran away, and my daughter suffered horrific abuse and death at the hands of those bandits. I have always accumulated good deeds; why did such an unfortunate event befall me?”
Lin Mo ignored Old Master Ding’s words and looked at the ghoul. “Don’t tell me you were attracted by the talent of someone named Ai that you met him privately. After being abandoned by him, you developed resentment and started targeting talented young men?”
Her thoughts exposed, the ghoul’s face showed shock. “How do you know this…”
“Did you kill that person named Ai?”
“No. Since that day, he had already left Daliang City, and I couldn’t find him.”
“Heh heh!” Lin Mo found it amusing. “So you took your anger towards him out on others?”
“Perhaps there were indeed scoundrels among the young men you killed, but were there absolutely no good people among them?”
“Your behavior, in my opinion, is no different from those bandits who abused you.”
“But should I have suffered this?” the ghoul roared.
“You should have!” Lin Mo laughed. “Who told you to sneak off and meet that young master? You didn’t know how to protect yourself. Your father raised you all these years, and this is how you repay him?”
“Let me put it this way: after you died and your father kept you at home, yin energy had already entered his body. He wouldn’t have lived much longer.”
Upon hearing this, the ghoul looked at Steward Ding. Seeing that he was not surprised, she asked, “Father, do you know all this?”
Steward Ding smiled wryly. “I am old, and I don’t have many years left. As long as you are happy, Father supports you…”
“Enough!” Lin Mo interrupted the melodramatic scene.
He didn’t have time to listen to this.
“I forgot to tell you, yesterday at Jiangyue Building, I won the top spot in the talent competition.”
Lin Mo spread his hands.
“Now, I’m right in front of you. Try to harm me if you can?”
The ghoul remained unmoved. She wasn’t stupid. It was obvious she was no match for the person in front of her; attacking would only lead to her death.
Lin Mo saw through her thoughts. “That’s right, it’s just as you think. That person named Ai was wrong. If he didn’t run back then, should he have stayed and died with you?”
The ghoul froze.
A word awakened the dreamer.
“In your next life, pay more attention to the people around you who truly care about you. Don’t let love cloud your judgment.”
Lin Mo said this…
Before long, the System began to prompt him, indicating that he had gained Regret.
Looking at the ghoul’s deeply self-recriminating appearance, Lin Mo felt gratified.
When the System’s prompts for Regret stopped, he slowly walked behind the ghoul.
A surge of spiritual energy erupted from his fingertip, and the ghoul immediately turned into pus and began to decay.
Steward Ding stood frozen. By the time he reacted, he couldn’t accept reality and died on the spot.
Lin Mo felt nothing and calmly walked out of the Ding Manor.
A doting mother spoils her son; a doting father spoils his daughter.
People truly shouldn’t lead too idle lives.
Like Steward Ding’s daughter, if her schedule had been full, how could she have had the mind for private meetings?
He was never one to be soft-hearted. Steward Ding’s daughter had indeed harmed many people. Should she be let go just because her tragic experience was pitiful?
That was naturally impossible.
However, Lin Mo hadn’t gone too far.
He hadn’t allowed Steward Ding’s daughter’s soul to be completely destroyed. He had only scattered one soul and separated two spiritual fragments. She would become an imbecile in her next life.
Leaving the Ding Manor, Lin Mo followed the clues to find the location of “Night Raid’s” human trafficking auction.
Fortunately, Daliang City also had a “Treasure Pavilion.” After inquiring with the manager of the local “Treasure Pavilion,”
Lin Mo, guided by the directions, finally found the auction venue.
