Chapter 84: The Thief of Panties
The dinner was in full swing, with Kendrick and his old comrades laughing and joking, feasting on fish and meat, and enjoying their wine.
Elrose sat quietly to the side, listening to their stories from back in the day, finding it quite interesting.
It turned out that they all belonged to a super A-rank adventurer group called “Scarlet Wing” in the past.
Cedric served as the leader and was also the highest-level member among them at level 99, which is considered quasi-saint tier.
All the other members were A-rank adventurers with levels above seventy.
However, a disagreement arose among them about whether to head to the Netherrealm for a special mission.
Cedric and Kendrick represented the conservative faction. They believed they were far from being able to go to the Netherrealm, thus rejecting this mission.
On the other hand, the radical faction, led by the vice leader, argued that the goal for establishing Scarlet Wing was S-tier, but they had been stuck at A-tier for too long. The resources in the Netherrealm were far beyond those of the human realm. If luck was on their side, they might even acquire the “medium” needed to break into saint tier, making adventuring a necessity.
In the end, the two sides had a big argument and parted on bad terms, leading to the dissolution of Scarlet Wing.
It was a somewhat heavy story, causing the storyteller to unconsciously drink a bit more.
As night deepened, these adults in their thirties and forties were all drunk.
“Seriously, Luna, I’ve told you before, the Obsidian Tower is filled with charlatans. There’s really no need for a normal person like you to go in,” Edwin raised his glass and said drunkenly, “Come to the Mage Guild with me, I guarantee you’ll have a good life.”
“Give it a rest, Edwin. After all this time, you’ve only managed to become the vice president, and you still have the nerve to say you’ll take Luna along?” Celia, sitting beside him, flushed lightly. “Don’t let your guildmaster find an opportunity to punish you, or you’ll drag Luna down with you.”
On the other side.
Ischer and Kendrick had their arms over each other’s shoulders, leaning drunkenly together.
“Damn it, Lance, what a jerk! How dare he bully our Lilith?! Kendrick, don’t worry, with the brothers here, Lilith’s spot is safe. If it comes to it, we’ll find a chance to take that son of a bitch Lance down,” Ischer said grandly with a wave of her hand.
“Take down Lance?” Kendrick burped loudly, equally tipsy. “But he’s saint tier. We might not be able to take him on.”
“Who says we can’t?” Ischer’s face was flushed, and she thumped the table twice, pointing at Cedric. “Leader, what do you say? That son of a bithc caused a ruckus in your office. Shouldn’t this be settled?”
“Of course it can’t be settled! Damn it, saint tier, what’s so great about that?!” Cedric, just as drunk and with a red face, replied. “I’m at least quasi-saint tier, plus the support from all you brothers, I could take Lance out in no time.”
“Did you hear that, Kendrick?” Ischer patted Kendrick’s shoulder hard, saying loudly, “The leader says we should go take down Lance together.”
“Alright, let’s take down Lance!” Kendrick raised his glass.
“Let’s take down Lance!!!” Ischer exclaimed excitedly.
“Count me in,” Edwin raised his glass and chimed in loudly.
“Finally, are we going to form a party?” Celia said excitedly. “Karashok is our territory, a mere Lance, we can take him down.”
“Take him down!” Everyone raised their glasses together, clinking them hard before downing their drinks.
Only Saya, who couldn’t handle her liquor, had already passed out to the side: “ZZZZ…”
Elrose stared blankly at the wild crowd in front of her and couldn’t help but worry, “Luna, is it really okay for them to keep drinking like this?”
“Don’t worry, they drink like this every time they gather,” Luna replied. “If you find it boring, you can go rest like Stella did. We’ll keep an eye on things here with Lilith; it won’t be a problem.”
“Alright, I’ll leave it to you then. I’m going upstairs to wash up and sleep.”
Elrose yawned softly and turned to head upstairs.
“Knock, knock, knock!”
Just a few minutes after Elrose left, a series of messy noises sounded, and everyone turned to look toward the source of the sound, the door of Nightmoon Tavern.
Kendrick frowned and said displeasedly, “Who could it be at this hour?”
“I’ll go take a look,” Luna stood up and slowly walked to the restaurant’s entrance.
Luna gently cracked open the door, revealing a mysterious figure wrapped entirely in a white cloak, obscuring their appearance.
Luna frowned slightly and said softly, “Sorry, we’re not open for guests today.”
“I’m not here to eat,” came a clear voice from outside. “I’m here to—”
But before the person outside could finish, Luna shut the door again.
“Luna, who was outside?” Kendrick asked.
“I don’t know,” Luna returned to her original seat and said blandly, “But that person is dressed oddly like that at this hour; they can’t be a good person.”
Outside Nightmoon Tavern, Alicia stood alone in the cold wind, quietly watching the small restaurant before her.
The Holy Dragon Contract indicated that Tia was inside.
But it seemed like she had arrived too late today; at this hour, the owner of this place was already unfriendly toward visitors.
What should she do? Wait until tomorrow to return?
This was a restaurant, and naturally, it would open for business tomorrow morning, so it would be wise to go in then disguised as a guest to search for Tia.
But the problem was, she couldn’t hold it in.
She had almost crossed the entire Mornhart to get here, and now the friend she had been thinking about day and night was inside, yet she couldn’t see her. This feeling of anxiety and urgency was truly unbearable.
Alicia slowly raised her head and looked at a window in the corridor on the second floor, clenching her fist.
“I guess I have to be a thief this time.”
Saying this, Alicia took out a necklace from her storage ring and put it around her neck. She looked around to make sure no one was watching, then activated the magic on the necklace.
【Flight】
Alicia swiftly flew up to the second floor window, effortlessly broke the iron lock, and entered the room.
What greeted her was a long corridor with several rooms on either side.
Alicia raised her right hand, and ancient runes began to glow. Following the guidance of the runes, she walked slowly toward the depths of the corridor.
“Splash…”
“Lalalalala, lalalala~”
The sound of water flowing accompanied by a girl’s singing slowly came from the bathhouse, making Alicia take a deep breath as she pressed on.
She hesitated for a moment outside the door.
She didn’t know who was bathing inside, but clearly, the singing voice was not Tia’s.
But the thing was, the Holy Dragon Contract indicated she was right behind this door.
Should she burst in?
Hmm… That didn’t seem quite right.
Alicia sighed softly, “Well, I’ll just wait here for her to finish bathing.”
With that thought, Alicia leaned gently against the washstand and quietly awaited the appearance of the person inside.
At that moment, a strange fragrance wafted through the air. Alicia inhaled deeply, feeling her spirit uplifted and invigorated.
What was that scent?
Alicia turned around and followed the fragrance, slowly walking over to find a small basin scattered with a set of freshly changed clothes.
The strange fragrance was emanating from these garments.
“Ah~ It smells so good.”
The closer she got to the pile of clothing, the denser the aroma became, and Alicia felt herself grow lighter and lighter.
Before long, she was captivated by the smell, and as if possessed, she picked up the topmost garment from the pile and gently held it to her nose, inhaling the scent as if enchanted.
But in the next moment.
The Eye of Truth flickered to life, and Alicia’s eyes widened as she snapped back to reality, instinctively throwing the clothing away and stumbling back several steps.
“What the hell was that?” Alicia thought incredulously. “Was I just entranced by the scent of that garment?”
Eye of Truth activated.
—
Item Name: Women’s Underwear
Tier: None
Item Effect: Wear to protect women’s **
Durability: 98/

This is just a regular pair of panties?! Alicia gulped deeply, then slowly walked forward to gently pick up the underwear from the floor.
At that moment, the enticing fragrance rushed back, and Alicia quickly pulled up her collar, covering her mouth and nose to block out the scent.
Holding the underwear in her hand, she examined it closely.
White, soft, and slightly warm…
Very ordinary material,
No signs of magic or curse…
Alicia frowned immediately.
This was undoubtedly a regular pair of panties, but why…
Wait a minute?!!
Alicia’s eyes widened suddenly. If the underwear wasn’t the problem, then it must be her.
Alicia lifted her shirt, and sure enough, on her snowy-white belly, the pink Heart-E magic rune was gleaming.
Her mind raced, and in an instant, she reached the final conclusion — this pair of underwear belonged to none other than Shadie.
And at that moment.
“Ah!”
The bathroom door swung open, and a silver-haired beauty just out of the bath, with her body steaming, stepped out.
“Ah~ Bathing feels so good,” Elrose said with a satisfied expression.
But the next moment, Elrose’s expression changed a hundred and eighty degrees in a shocking reversal, freezing instantly.
Standing before her was a strange figure wrapped in a white cloak.
Not only that, but they were holding the very pair of underwear she had just changed out of.
The girl’s instinct kicked in.
Alicia didn’t even have time to stop her as the enormous scream echoed through every corner of Nightmoon Tavern.
“Ah!”
“Someone help!!”
“There’s a pervert here!!”
