Chapter 38: Almost gg
Alicia weakly knelt to the ground, her consciousness instantly blurring.
The recent sword drawn strike seemed simple, but it was her strongest attack, combining Battle Qi, Mana, and mental energy.
Alicia was well aware that there were more than a dozen Ogres known for their strength on the opposite side; in her current physical state, how could she possibly be their opponent?
So she took a gamble, hoping that those foolish Demons would be scared off by her killing intent and her sword draw, and flee in panic.
She did exactly that, and the result was just as she had anticipated.
However, she never expected that at the moment her sword drawn strike depleted the power within her, the dark poison lurking inside her body would explode.
The deeply corrupted Mana began to flow along her meridians into her organs and limbs, starting to erode every corner of her flesh.
She should have taken medicine in time to replenish her energy and suppress this dark poison.
But with the Ogres right in front of her, if she produced a medicine vial at that moment, they would surely notice her weakness and swarm her.
At this moment, Alicia’s eyes turned dark, and her hands and feet felt icy cold. In a panic, she fumbled through her storage necklace, looking for various pill bottles.
Damn it, where are the recovery potions?
Alicia rubbed her eyes fiercely; her vision was corroded by the dark poison, making everything extremely blurry. She couldn’t even tell which were recovery potions and which were poisons.
The villagers trembled as they stood behind Alicia.
They could clearly see the bizarre black mist swirling around Alicia, and the cold feeling it brought made them dare not approach her.
Except for the old lady.
Alicia felt that her body was reaching its limit, and just when she was about to take a gamble and randomly grab a few vials to drink, Joy softly asked beside her, “What kind of potion are you looking for?”
Joy had lived in Slerwick for over forty years and had seen the terrifying and fierce Demon Clan many times. The magical aura surrounding Alicia might scare the other elderly villagers, but it did not scare her.
“Recovery potions,” Alicia said, feeling a chill throughout her body, almost losing consciousness. “Mana recovery potions, Battle Qi recovery potions, stamina recovery potions, anything will do, please.”
Poisons, laxatives, …
Healing potions, painkillers, purification potions…
Magic materials, alchemy materials, reinforcement materials, enhancement materials…
Dozens of colorful bottles were scattered on the ground. Since the potions Alicia used were all handmade by her, their color and quality were very different from what was available in the market. Even experienced adventurers here might not confidently identify what potions they had.
But soon, Joy selected one from the many bottles and handed it to Alicia, saying, “Here, this bottle should be a Mana recovery potion.”
Alicia was slightly taken aback.
So quickly found it, could it be random?
However, she had no other choice.
Alicia took the potion Joy handed over and drank it in one gulp. A warm energy instantly surged from her lower abdomen.
It was Mana; this was indeed a Mana recovery potion.
Without hesitation, Alicia channeled the restored Mana to suppress the dark poison within her.
Gradually, the black mist around Alicia disappeared, and her body temperature returned to normal.
Alicia slowly opened her eyes and felt that her body functions had basically returned to normal.
At this moment, the elderly villagers were gathered in a corner of the village square, rescuing the injured men piled up by the Ogres.
Crying and howling echoed around the square.
The elders desperately pulled their children out of the pile, holding them in their arms and crying loudly.
Although the Ogres preferred to eat the living, most of these men were still alive, but they were basically on the brink of death.
Seeing this, Alicia quickly took out many potions and ran over.
“Here, this is a top-tier healing potion. As long as there is still a breath left, it should be able to save them.”
Alicia handed the potion to a stranger elder. The elder did not hesitate and quickly administered it to his child.
A faint green light instantly surged up, and the wounds healed at a visible speed, with the child’s breath gradually stabilizing.
“It works, it works.” The child was pulled back from the gates of hell, the elder looked at Alicia and immediately burst into tears, “Thank you, thank you so much.”
Alicia gently nodded, then distributed the remaining potions to everyone in need.
…
“Thank you.” Joy took the vial from Alicia and quickly administered the potion to the lying Roderick and Balth.
Hearing that somewhat familiar voice, Alicia was slightly surprised: “Was it you who found the Mana recovery potion for me just now?”
“Yes.” Joy nodded, but her gaze remained fixed on Roderick and Balth, not leaving them.
Alicia noticed her inner fear and comforted her, “Don’t worry, my coming out was a good thing. They are seasoned warriors; with my potions, they will recover from this level of injuries quickly.”
Joy was overjoyed and kept expressing her gratitude: “Thank you, thank you so much.”
“I should be the one thanking you. If you hadn’t found me the Mana potion in time, I might have been done for,” Alicia said.
“Hehe, you should really thank my son.” Joy said gently, “That child often finds ways to sneak some low-level potions from the lord’s warehouse so that our lives can get better.”
Joy smiled: “Because I’ve seen them, I can recognize them at a glance.”
Low-level potions?
Upon hearing this, Alicia’s stunning face twitched slightly. She thought to herself that this old lady was indeed quite confused.
The materials and potions in her storage necklace were all the best in the human realm; just taking out one would be worth a fortune and even hard to come by.
If these were low-level, then perhaps there was nothing high-level in the human realm.
Alicia sighed lightly, not intending to say much, after all, it was easy for elders to say some nonsensical things.
However, Alicia never expected that Joy was actually telling the truth.
For the lord she referred to was the lord of Slerwick, the Demon lord Asarhel.
A terrifying existence with over four hundred levels.
The treasures Alicia cherished were hardly different from garbage in its eyes.
