Chapter 49 – The Changing Face of a Friend
As I walked out of the spatial magic, I saw my familiar palace towering above me.
“Dar~ling!! Dar~ling, dar~ling, dar~ling!!”
I caught the flying Lumiere hugging me as if she was going to charge at me with abandon.
She hugged my body with her tremendous arm strength while excitedly rubbing her cheek against my chest.
If I had kept the form of Theodore, my entire body would have been crushed in the initial assault.
“Have you been a good girl, Lumiere?”
“Hee, it’s Dar-ling! Dar-ling! Dar-ling!”
A petite maid muttered to herself as she gazed at the fallen angel who kept calling out “dar-ling”.
“I’m sorry, Master. That winged angelic creature was so happy to see her master return that she had a brain less than a dog’s. It looks like. Shall I dispose of it here?”
Lumiere, still excitedly pressing her head against my chest, casually pointed one hand at the petite maid and raise a huge spear, clad in divine energy, from her feet.
The maid, Carla, took it in her hand as if nothing had happened. Lumiere, looked at it for a moment, clicked her tongue, and then started to pamper me again as if nothing had happened. Ah, the usual scene.
“You’re as relentless as ever, Carla. Lumiere, you need to calm down a bit.”
“Because it’s been so long since we’ve seen each other!”
“It hasn’t been that long since you took me away in Mildiana.”
“Dar~ling was in human form in that time! The human form is cute, but I prefer Dar~ling like this!! He has deep voice and so cool!! Dar~ling!!!”
I walked on with the angel in my arms.
I was greeted by a girl wearing a black dress with lots of frills.
“Welcome home, Your Majesty.”
“Oh, I’m home. Giselle, we have a lot to talk about, but first…”
“Yeah. I’ve already moved Satan to the location. Come on, let’s go.”
As Giselle about stepped forward into the floating spatial magic behind her, my gaze met that of a girl in white who suddenly emerged from the space.
She immediately looked at me with a huffy expression and said.
“Lucifer. I have a lot to talk with you.”
“All right, all right. But calm down first, Levy. You’re not hiding your murderous intent.”
To a human, she may look like a child, but Levy is also royalty living in eternal time.
She is a demon who is not willing to fight, but that does not mean that she is not capable of fighting.
“You war madman. You’re a war madman. What kind of trouble have you gotten yourself into in the name of fun? ……Well, I’ll go clean up your mess.”
“If you’re going to face with Great Hero. He’s looking very deadly right now. He’s like a wounded beast.”
“I’m not going to fight. I’m just going to have a talk with him.”
When Leviathan said that, she quickly turned her lifeless eyes away from me.
I deflected it and she headed for the empire through the space magic Giselle had created.
After seeing that off, I gently pulled Lumiere out of my embrace.
I peeled her off, patted her on the head, and then said to all three ladies present.
“Inside that is my ally. You may be surprised to see him for the first time, but Satan is as powerful as his mighty form. He may have lost his power now, but he is still a good opponent that I would have a hard time fighting if he were fight me seriously. –If he gets out of control, there is a high possibility that he will be untouchable. I wouldn’t worry about that, but if you’re afraid, wait here.”
When I told them that, the first person to open her mouth was Lumiere.
“I don’t care! If it’s someone Dar~ling care about so much, I care about him too!”
Giselle, the second wife with long black hair, followed.
“I’ll be fine. I’ll also protect Lumiere if it needed.”
“That’s conversely, that’s conversely!!! I’m the one who will protect Giselle! Leave that to the First Wife!”
“Oh, ……, I get it. I’m counting on you, Lumiere. How is Lena?”
The third wife, Rena, who had been silent until then, nodded her head and said.
“I’m fine, too. I would like to watch over Satan, the Demon King, one of the seven great pillars of Lucifer’s acquaintance, from up close.”
“I’ll protect Giselle, but I won’t protect you. I don’t care if you die.”
“No, thank you. I’m not desperate enough to be protected by a fallen angel.”
“Hahahaha!! You were almost defeated by that great hero! Hee~! How do you feel? Hello~!?”
Rena glared at Lumiere, who was hopping around her, wringing her hands in frustration.
As Lumiere and Rena stared at each other, it was Giselle who clapped her hands.
“Here, you two. Don’t fight, okay? You’ll get His Majesty in trouble.”
I let out a light sigh and walked on quickly.
“If you’re going to fight, do it on your own, away from the palace. I’m leaving now.”
“Oh! Wait, wait, I’m coming too!”
“Uh, I’m coming with you!”
Thus, the Lady of Three and I were ushered through the spatial magic into a large hall.
This is the deepest part of the basement of my palace. It hadn’t been used for a long time, but there wasn’t a speck of dust on it, partly because the maids were doing a good job of it on a daily basis.
