Chapter 48 – The sideshow
The moment a black hole appeared behind Satan, a mass of red magic power flew out of it and pierced our body. When I saw it with this body, it was a direct hit. However, I did not feel any pain.
Such tremendous magic power, and most importantly, the black hole that appeared behind Satan.
–speaking of space magic user.
As the image of a girl with a gentle smile passed through my mind, something strange happened to my body.
The sealing technique engraved deep within my body was shattered in an instant. It was due to the forbidden magic that Lena exercised to keep me in my human form. Deep within the seal, which was destroyed in the blink of an eye, was the very thing that made me human.
When even the small lump of magic power that I was holding in my hand was shattered, light overflowed from my body.
An then I found myself—-
“Oh, my God. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this way. It hasn’t even been a few months since I became a human being, and yet I feel terribly nostalgic.”
My height changed, and my voice returned to its original pitch. My clothes are the black I used to wear, and a red cloak.
I no longer need to confirm that I had now regained the form of a Majin.
My body feels so light. It’s as if, when I was human, I sank into a mire.
“……, Satan. Can you not still remember me in this form?”
“What a strange appearance. It is better that you disappear before my power.”
Satan held up his huge battle axe, Kadesh Segel. If he continued to wield it, Satan’s body would collapse, as even his massive frame could not hold up. I have no choice.
The moment Satan made the slightest flinch, I had already sliced off both his wrists with my hand blade and taken his axe.
“I’m sorry, Satan, but it will be difficult to stop you otherwise. You’ll have to forgive me, you can always regenerate your wrists later.”
I grabbed the axe, which was more than twice my height, and landed behind Satan.
Satan unleashes a powerful spinning kick, but I dodges it and returns to my original position.
A sensation of sparks struck my arm. It was a reaction to Kadesh Segel’s rejection of anything that was not the master.
If it were a human body, this rejection alone could have burned my arms, but such a thing could not happen to my current form.
I pierced the ground with a Kadesh Segel’ thrust. The earth shook violently as a lot of magical power was sent to it as I was squeezing the hilt.
It was shortly after that that the mighty battle axe flew apart like glass.
“You’re late, Satan.”
I dodged Satan’s jumping body and lightly struck the back of his head with my fist, causing his entire body to hit the ground hard, causing the ground to crack.
I put my foot on his head and stomped on it.
This is the quickest way to suppress the urge to destroy.
Satan seems to be trying to wriggle out of it somehow, but it doesn’t seem to budge. I had dealt with his destructive impulses many times before, but this was the first time I’d seen him in such a state.
If it was original him, it is even not an obstacle.
“Your Majesty. Can you hear me?”
A sweet, mellow voice echoed in my brain. Just by listening to this voice, my heart feels a deep sense of peace.
“Giselle. Yes, I can hear you. You slept better than ever this time, are you awake?”
“Yes. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there to escort you away.”
“No problem. I probably should have waited for you to wake up. …… There were a lot of circumstances. If I had done that, things might not have gone very wrong.”
“I’m fine. I heard what happened from Lumiere, Asmo and the others. I’ve been spying on you with my space magic for a while now. Please don’t be angry with me.”
The words of my beloved second wife, who let out a giggle and said it like a naughty child, permeated my mind.
Giselle’s sweet voice is so addictive that I want to listen to it forever.
“I have no idea how long you’ve been watching me. Rena didn’t seem to notice either. Ah, Giselle—?”
When I changed the tone of my voice, Giselle also matched it.
“Yes. I’m getting ready to accept Satan here. It’s just going to take a little longer.”
“Five minutes, I think. Asmo is putting the finishing touches on it.”
“All right. I’ll neutralize Satan. In the time we have left, I’m going to have a little fun.”
“Hmm. Don’t overdo it and unleash your powers, okay?”
I moved my feet away from Satan’s head. When Satan tried to get up without strength, I held his head down with one hand and muttered.
“Sleep well, my friend.”
At the moment I gushed out my magic power, Satan completely lost consciousness and was attached to the ground. If ones are exposed to such a large amount of magic power, not only human, but also a higher species of demon like him would be affected from it.
But against Satan, even this can only put him to sleep for a short time.
I stared at the battle between Rena and General Duras.
Rena swung her twin swords, narrowly avoiding the dozens of slashes that the blonde general would unleash in an instant. However, her swords only objects made up of magic of the level of forbidden magic. She was helpless before the divine sword Revisistra, created by the hand of the god Orfelia.
As soon as she judged that she couldn’t avoid the slash of the divine sword, she used her transference technique to get in time.
It’s not hard to see why, but the power of General Duras is also immeasurable, as he is able to see through her actions and move towards the destination with great speed, attacking before Rena can even get into position.
The concentration of the two of them was tremendous.
If you avert your gaze even for a moment, you will instantly have your head chopped off.
The extreme state of mind of them is focused solely on defeating the enemy in front of each, even as it dulls their ability to read the situation around them. They don’t seem to be aware of the changes that have occurred here.
But it was General Duras who looked at me first, for a moment.
It’s just an extraordinary fighting ability, considering that there’s no room for Rena, who has the worst weapon affinity.
And the scary thing about this guy is that he’s not taking this seriously.
That’s what I found. I don’t know if Lena is aware of that much.
The equilibrium of the situation was broken.
After Rena’s twin swords were destroyed, General Duras’s divine sword closed in on her, taking advantage of the small gap before she create her next weapon.
It’s not lethal, but it’s about time.
I leapt to my feet and stood to protect Rena, who opened her eyes when she was caught in the moment.
A blow from the divine sword strikes me directly in the back.
“That’s enough, Rena.”
“Oh, um, ……, how did you get back to your…”
I pulled Rena’s chin up with my fingers and stared at her face closely.
“Your cheek is bleeding. The wound’s closed up, but you’re okay.”
“Ugh, I’m fine…….”
I wiped Rena’s blood with my thumb and said, looking into her wide, dark purple eyes.
“I thought I told you to hold him off, but before I know it, you’re killing each other.”
“Ah! I’m so sorry!”
I saw Rena kneel down on the spot and hang her head, but I gently prevented her from doing so with my hand.
“No, no, that’s okay. I’m amazed that you’ve managed to hold out this long against a great hero with a divine sword in his hand. That’s my third wife.”
“I’d be embarrassed if you said it like that… but…”
I gently took the maid’s lips, her voice trembling, and didn’t let her continue. Rena’s eyes were puzzled, but her cheeks flushed and panicked.
“Mmm, mmm, Lu-Lucifer-sama….! I feel happy if you kiss me, but no, now is not the time for that!”
I stroked the head of his beloved wife, who was giddy and confused, and kissed her forehead as well, before whispering to her.
“I know. I’ll be done in four minutes. Just wait for me then, okay?”
“Um, okay. I understand…”
With the silver-haired maid girl still looking confused, I slowly turned to the blond general.
He seemed to have realized that my body hadn’t sustained a single scratch from the previous blow and moved away. The great hero asked, though he looked wary.
“Theodore……, no, she called you Lucifer. Is that what you really are?”
“Very well. Well done, General Duras. Your power is real. I didn’t think there was anyone in this place who could push Rena this far, let alone Satan in his weakened state. I’m a little excited myself, thanks to you.”
At the same time as my words, an explosion of magic power erupted from within my body.
However, it is only the magic that I, in my demon form, always emit.
But because I had been human for so long, it seemed to have taken me a little longer to gush out.
