Side Story 41 – Parent-Teacher Open Class (4)
Parents introducing themselves from the children’s perspective.
This topic was just so fitting for a parent-teacher open class.
The previous topic was okay, but this one was way better.
There’s always a gap between parents and kids.
This is a golden opportunity to bridge that gap.
Through this, parents can see how their children perceive them.
It’s a chance for self-reflection and to become better parents.
Even if parents aren’t perfect, they need to be in their children’s eyes.
But is this topic too vague?
The kids exchange silent glances, tilting their heads.
They can’t quite grasp it, but they’re trying to understand.
Finally, one kid couldn’t hold back and shyly raised their hand.
“Teacher, can you explain it a bit more clearly?”
“At the simplest level, we can talk about your parents’ jobs.”
As soon as the topic became more specific, another kid quickly raised their hand.
“Teacher! Me! I want to go first!”
“Okay, let’s hear from our Yuchan. Where do your parents work?”
The level of the kindergarten was definitely high.
In fact, there wasn’t much change from the original topic.
The teacher’s skill in clarifying and the kids’ quick responses were impressive.
“If you open the anus, it’s there.”
“Well, that’s interesting.”
……The level of humanity was seriously low, though.
[Oh, so there are other jobs there.]
‘Please, shut up.’
At this point, I could only admire it.
Even though Piece had already hit rock bottom, now it had dropped further.
Indeed, there was a bottom to rock bottom.
Just then, another kid quickly raised their hand.
“Teacher, can I try?”
“Of course, Junyoung.”
With behavior and tone that were remarkably gathered, unlike other kids.
Of course, Yeonwoo addressed everyone politely too, but this kid took it to another level.
If you didn’t know better, you might mistake his voice for a soldier’s.
“My parents are wonderful soldiers who protect the country.”
“Both of them are soldiers?”
“Yes, they are. They’re in the same unit.”
Well, there was a reason for that.
Parents’ jobs have both major and minor influences on their kids.
Not just in education or emotions, but even their future dreams.
Honestly, it was surprising that they had such a significant impact.
At the same time, it felt a bit sad.
No matter how you slice it, a child should just be a child.
What in the world happened for a kid to turn out like that?
It’s other people’s education issues, so I can’t say much.
Personally, I thought they didn’t deserve to be called parents.
I wanted to see the face of that parent figure.
“Even if they’re in the same unit, it couldn’t have been easy meeting them. That’s impressive.”
“They said they could see each other every day because they were in the same barracks.”
……I suddenly didn’t want to know anymore.
“How romantic. So, did you meet for the first time at the base?”
“No. They said they were close since training camp.”
Seriously…
I felt like something was wrong with that.
I thought they must have met as officers vs. officers or officers vs. soldiers.
Why did the word ‘barracks’ suddenly come up?
I mean, one can’t bear a child as the same sex, right?
Unless one of them was TS.
“But then, did Junyoung get adopted? It seemed like you would bunk with the same sex in the barracks.”
“I’m their biological child. One of my parents is a shemale.”
F*ck, wasn’t it better if they just went TS?
Even if a shemale can have female reproductive capabilities, no matter how you package it, they’re still a male.
Whether it was just me or the teacher, the question kept coming.
“Teacher, I’m not sure, but isn’t a shemale just a guy? Since they have male reproductive organs?”
“That’s a clitoris. It’s just a bit larger and has a lot of liquid.”
“What about the rest of the egg parts?”
“It’s an external trumpet.”
This kid, Junyoung, seemed used to these kinds of questions, handling them skillfully.
“Junyoung knows so much about various things.”
“Of course, it’s about my parents, so I need to know.”
For me, this was just a pile of nonsense.
I could understand defending like that since one parent was a shemale.
But explaining it with such compulsive detail honestly looked so pitiful.
They must have trained him to answer like that thoroughly.
A shemale is just a gay guy, why cover it up by calling them female?
‘Why do these shemale-obsessed kids all have long tongues?’
[They say it’s better for prostate stimulation to be longer.]
‘Crazy b*tch.’
It was frustrating.
My head was pounding seriously.
Am I about to lose consciousness?
No, wouldn’t that be better for me?
But suddenly, a voice pulled me back to reality.
“Teacher, I want to try too.”
“Okay, let’s hear from our Yumi.”
That was none other than Yumi’s voice.
It must have been from attending kindergarten; she spoke honorifics for the first time.
Of course, it wasn’t perfect, as it seemed a bit unfamiliar.
But given her age, it was a huge leap in a short time.
While my heart was swelling, the teacher gently addressed Yumi.
“What do your parents do, Yumi?”
“Our moms are beautiful and amazing hunters!”
Yumi proudly puffed out her chest.
I felt really proud yet a bit sad.
That such a sight of Yumi could only be seen by me and Piece.
I wished the other heroines could see Yumi right now.
The rules set in kindergarten felt regrettable, especially in this moment.
Still, pushing my emotions aside, Piece and I quickly pulled out our mobile phones to start recording.
We need to keep Yumi’s amazing moments recorded somehow.
This was a sight we’d never see again.
Just then, Yumi answered the teacher’s questions confidently.
“What about your dad?”
“I don’t have one.”
…….The vibe got a bit weird.
“You must have had…a tough time…that’s okay, right?”
“That’s how life goes.”
It felt serious all of a sudden.
Suddenly, I felt like I was treated strangely.
Like I shouldn’t be here.
At that moment, Yeonwoo bluntly scolded Yumi.
“Yumi, you need to say it right.”
“What did I say?”
Thank goodness.
Yumi might have been a little nervous, but Yeonwoo was fluent enough to run a shop.
If things kept going like this, he would easily clear up any misunderstandings that could arise.
“Dad was there but then disappeared.”
“Oh, right. That was when we were born…”
“Oh dear…how did both of you grow up so bravely…”
Instead of clarifying, more misunderstandings piled up.
The atmosphere in the classroom grew heavy as everyone, kids and parents, quietly bowed their heads.
The teacher covered their mouth, tears gathering at the corners of their eyes.
Things were spiraling out of control.
This teacher was someone I had never seen before.
In other words, a teacher who didn’t even know I existed.
So, misunderstandings piled up just like this.
Just then, Yumi gave the teacher a bright smile.
“But Dad came with us today.”
“Really? Where is he?”
“He’s right there in the back.”
This was a chance.
Yumi was pointing with her finger at me.
I quickly waved my hand and started speaking.
I wanted to clear any misunderstandings, to let them know I was alive.
But before I could even get the words out, Piece dragged me into God’s space.
[Just hang in there for a moment.]
‘Ah, f*ck.’
Ridiculously, Piece kept our five senses connected during that time.
So, only Piece existed where I had been.
People’s gazes finally moved to where Yumi was pointing but then landed emptily on my vacant spot.
“Huh? Dad… disappeared… there’s only Mom…”
“Dad… where did you go… why… did you leave…”
In an instant, Yumi and Yeonwoo looked pitiful, about to burst into tears.
Yumi and Yeonwoo, who looked like they would cry at the slightest poke.
In that moment, the teacher hugged Yumi and Yeonwoo tightly, gently patting them.
They must have reached the limit, tears streaming down their face.
“It’s okay…… your dad is always watching over you two…”
“I got it. Dad, watch over me. I’ll do my best.”
“I won’t cry anymore, Dad…”
Seeing the teacher’s demeanor, it was a relief that Yumi and Yeonwoo each found their resolve.
‘Get me out of here! If this keeps up, I’ll really cut ties with you!’
[Cutting ties?]
‘You fcking btch.’
The problem was, I wasn’t relieved at all.
Having already been through this once, why was I going through this nonsense again?
I was really feeling so frustrated it might drive me crazy.
At that moment, the teacher nailed it down.
“How about we all sing a song for the dad of Yumi and Yeonwoo?”
As soon as the words ended, everyone started to sing.
Not just the kids, even the parents watching along.
It was dreadful.
Even when they tried to sing the brightest of songs, it sounded gloomy.
The sight of the kids and parents crying tears and snot.
That Piece who’d banished me into the divine space.
And the seriously teary voices of everyone.
All of it sucked.
As soon as the song finished, we had a brief moment of pause.
Everyone got up to dry their tears.
Yumi and Yeonwoo ran toward Piece.
With bright smiles on their faces.
“Mom! Dad must have heard us, right?”
[Don’t worry. Even in heaven, he’ll hear you clearly.]
“I’m glad… Dad…”
The more that happened, the more my heart burned up inside.
[This is a requiem dedicated to you.]
‘I’m still alive, you son of a b*tch.’
It seriously sucked.
