Chapter 41

Chapter 41: This Plot Seems Familiar!

“Another drink!”

“No, Wang Jie, you can’t handle your liquor.”

Zhang Shaoqing chuckled as he pushed Wang Jie’s shoulder, but Wang Jie just lowered his head and covered his face, not responding for a long while.

“Wen Yang, shall we continue?”

He looked toward the other side of the booth but saw Ning Chu leaning on the sofa, dazed. Those slightly vacant eyes were desperately rubbing to stay awake, but with that fidgety little movement and defenseless expression, it was clear she was already quite drunk.

In this drunken state, one might mistake her for a girl acting flirtatious.

As for Wen Yang, that guy was comfortably asleep on Ning Chu’s thighs.

“You guys seriously lack tolerance for alcohol,” Zhang Shaoqing mocked. “Ning Chu, you’ve only had two drinks!”

“Damn it, I’m buying drinks, and now I have to take care of you?”

Zhang Shaoqing cursed and stood up, turning to call over a waiter. “Where’s the nearest hotel? I need two people to help me get them there.”

“Hotel?”

Hearing that word, Ning Chu’s slow brain immediately thought of another word: “check-in.”

She jolted, shaking her head rapidly. “No! I want to go back to the dormitory!”

“Why? I can drive you back while drunk, and then we can continue being roommates in the ICU tomorrow?”

“I’ll take a taxi myself!”

“Look at what time it is!”

Zhang Shaoqing never held back on his words. His tone was dissatisfied and fierce, matched with his signature yellow hair, looking like he could blow up at any moment, making Ning Chu shrink back and not say a word.

He’s still her character, and yet as the author, she was this pathetic…

The bar was right above a hotel, and Ning Chu sat uneasily on the sofa, watching Wen Yang and Wang Jie being helped out by the staff. She truly felt more anxious.

Now, she was half-drunk, her body having some strange reactions, and the only villain around was sober and trying to get her to check in…

Even though Ning Chu wanted to believe Zhang Shaoqing had no ulterior motives, she couldn’t shake the thought that the villains in those stories had no moral limits.

Why is the small royal text about such a villain?!

All that dark thought is attributed to the villain, causing her to always doubt Zhang Shaoqing’s intentions.

“Are you leaving without me helping you?” Zhang Shaoqing wobbled a bit as he walked, pockets full of sunflower seeds, leading the way while discussing accommodation. “Two drunkards can’t be trusted; I’ll share a room with Wang Jie, and you’ll share with Wen Yang. How about that?”

Ning Chu hurried to catch up. If it weren’t the end of the month and she were a bit broke with just a few bucks left due to supporting a little black cat, she would definitely choose to safely take a taxi back to the dorm or book another hotel room.

Staying in a room with Wen Yang was better than sleeping in a park outside.

Following the staff to the second-floor hotel, Ning Chu stood at the front desk, when she heard heavy breathing coming from deep down the corridor.

She wasn’t feeling well, and upon hearing those intimate sounds, her unease increased.

“Is the sound insulation that bad?” Zhang Shaoqing frowned, glancing at the price chart. “This one room costs 300 bucks?”

Though complaining, there was no choice, since any other hotels wouldn’t help carry the drunkards. Zhang Shaoqing had to endure his dissatisfaction and complete the check-in.

“Let’s go, time to sleep.”

“Okay…”

“You and Wen Yang stay in this room.” Zhang Shaoqing pointed to the door across. “If anything happens, knock. I’m going to sleep first.”

After the bar staff helped Wen Yang onto the bed, they left. Ning Chu sat on a wicker chair in the hotel, staring at the locked door, glancing at the snoring Wen Yang, finally letting out a sigh of relief.

Thank goodness, this guy truly had no other thoughts about her.

“Looks like I really can’t touch alcohol at all.” She leaned back in frustration, rubbing her sore eyes and muttering, “Good thing I’m still a guy. If I were already a girl, no doubt I’d be…”

Chills ran down her spine!

Never again to this ghostly place called a bar! Clearly, she had consciously controlled herself; it was just two big cocktails, yet here she was, her body weak and half-drunk, barely seeing the path.

Plus, God knows what weirdness happened next; aside from the drunkenness, a bunch of weird thoughts spilled into her mind and even triggered some other sensations…

“Um~”

She shook her head hard, cheeks flushed, holding onto the table as she stood up, planning to go to the bathroom for a shower to cool off the fire inside her.

Her heart may be racing, and her body reacting a bit, but with her legs lightly rubbing together, she could feel a slight pleasure, yet down there was just completely limp.

Definitely wasted!

When Ning Chu reached the bathroom door, she suddenly froze.

Why was the bathroom door transparent! You could see right inside the bathroom from outside!

She turned to sneak a glance at the still snoring Wen Yang on the bed, her inner vigilance towards the protagonist quickly dissipated.

After all, this guy was also sleeping.

If there was anything to worry about, it would be getting interrupted while showering in the dorm.

Ah! A bathtub! It had been ages since she soaked in one.

As expected of me, even in a drunken state, I still maintain sufficient vigilance~

So dizzy…

Ning Chu held her head, stumbling into the bathroom, filling the bathtub with water, splashing her face, and she didn’t forget to lock the door. Before the tub was even full, she gently sank into the water.

So much better~

Warm water slowly rose, covering more and more skin with gentle streams. She sighed comfortably, adjusting her position to find a more suitable one.

The sound of running water stirred Wen Yang from sleep; he opened his eyes a tiny bit, staring at the unfamiliar ceiling, surveying his surroundings.

In the small room, there were two beds with clean white sheets, a set of wicker chairs, a glass round table, a wall-mounted TV, and a computer in the corner.

Wen Yang yawned; having never drunk cocktails before, he fell unexpectedly like Ning Chu, barely remembering much before passing out.

He only remembered lying on Ning Chu’s thighs…

Those thighs were quite soft, with a hint of a girl’s scent, comfortable enough to black out rapidly.

Although awake, Wen Yang still stared blankly at the ceiling, lost in thought. After what felt like ages, he suddenly realized he was in a hotel.

First thing, turn on the TV! Set the air conditioning to the lowest!

Otherwise, what a waste.

He rolled out of bed, planning to head to the bathroom for personal needs. But after a couple of steps, he sluggishly realized there was water running inside the bathroom.

“Who’s in there?!”

He called out loudly while walking.

The water sound abruptly stopped.

Ning Chu’s hazy brain instantly cleared up.

That scared me! I thought something happened.

Glancing at the mist-covered glass door, she calmly shouted, “Wait a minute, I’m in the shower, two minutes!”

Casually grabbing a towel to dry off, Ning Chu’s actions suddenly froze.

Wait a minute! The bathroom! Drunkenly barging in? The male lead?!

Why does this plot seem so familiar!

The alcohol has worn off, but the person is lost!

She almost slapped herself! What was she being so careful about earlier? In the end, she still ended up as cannon fodder!

Her body ducked back into the bathroom, eyes dilating, staring intently at the door.

Don’t just kick the door in because you’re drunk!
