Chapter 3 003. This is Ridiculous
So Wen Yang didn’t go on a date, and the first scene from the novel didn’t happen. Does that mean the subsequent plot won’t unfold?
Ning Chu followed behind three roommates, staring at his toes while deep in thought.
It should still happen, after all, it’s a collection of short stories in Small Royal Text, and there’s hardly any connection between the shorts.
But it’s worth a shot.
He sighed anxiously.
Having spent so long in the dormitory, he found it hard to imagine Wen Yang becoming a playboy, and he didn’t want to accept that Zhang Shaoqing would become the villain in the story.
What’s worse, his role in the book seemed to be a woman, and the kind that gets pinned down!
Even though he felt he was just scaring himself, he was a perfectly good male after all. Even if he was a bit shorter, there was no way he could suddenly turn into a girl, right?
“Let’s eat at this Sichuan restaurant?”
Ning Chu’s vision went dark as he bumped his head against Zhang Shaoqing’s back, clutching his nose and stepping back a couple of steps.
Zhang Shaoqing didn’t even wobble, turning around with a confused look, “Why did you bump into me?”
“…”
“It’s your treat, anything you want,” Wang Jie chimed in, “Is this Sichuan place really good?”
“No, didn’t he write it? Spend over 200 and get a free case of wine.”
Ning Chu rubbed his painfully red nose, silently cursing Zhang Shaoqing’s generous but practical behavior.
He followed his three roommates into the restaurant’s private room, sitting down with one hand propping his chin, staring vacantly at a painting on the wall.
“Lost in thought again, who knows what he’s thinking all day,” Zhang Shaoqing glanced at Ning Chu, who was in a daze, then picked up the menu and waved it around, “Order! Don’t skimp!”
Wen Yang and Wang Jie knew this guy never ran short on cash but still tried to choose cheaper items.
While waiting for the food, a case of wine was already opened.
Ning Chu was pushed a bit and snapped back to reality, finding Wen Yang at his side, pouring him a full glass.
“Drink a bit? Don’t just space out, join in!”
“Uh-huh.”
He casually pushed the glass back, “I’m allergic to alcohol; I’ll drink cola.”
He was in a dangerous world, surrounded by the male lead and villains. How could he dare drink? What if the plot related to him kicked off early?!
Ning Chu rushed to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of cola. Just as he returned and sat down, he turned to Wen Yang with a hint of suspicion.
Why’s this guy staring at me?
He was always sensitive to gazes, feeling Wen Yang’s eyes fixed on him.
From the moment he left the private room to grab cola, Wen Yang’s gaze never left him.
“What’s up?”
“Feels like you’ve gained weight,” Wen Yang murmured, turning his gaze away.
Gained weight?
Ning Chu scratched his head and looked down at himself.
Though he was comfortably slouched, there wasn’t any excess fat on his stomach. He could say he was slim; there was no way he looked fat!
Where could he have gained weight?
His gaze moved from his belly to his legs in shorts, and then to his slender arms and chest.
Nothing looks weird.
“Tomorrow’s military training, huh?” Wen Yang leaned to the side, making space for the server bringing food while complaining, “My friends are starting military training after National Day; why are we going so early?”
“Who knows? You should ask that silly school leader.”
Dishes were served, and the group at the table clinked glasses and feasted happily. Though Ning Chu was filled with worries, he certainly didn’t neglect his meal.
Why overthink? First, fill the stomach!
Even if he really was the girl destined to be pinned down by his roommate, that wasn’t worth considering right now.
They left the dorm around six and finally finished eating just past eight.
Wen Yang stood up first, glancing at the unconscious Wang Jie slumped on the table and Zhang Shaoqing, who was pouring air into an empty bottle, letting out a helpless sigh, “Just knew those two would drink too much again.”
“Let’s go; you and I…” he turned to Ning Chu’s petite frame, shaking his head resignedly, “I’ll take them back.”
“I’ll help you hold them up.”
Ning Chu was happy to be free, standing up to help support Wang Jie and Zhang Shaoqing on either side of Wen Yang.
Wen Yang had two drunk guys leaning on him. He stood up and took a step forward, but with his swaying, he almost fell.
“This won’t work…” Ning Chu frowned, sprinting out of the private room, “You put them down, wait for me!”
“Where are you going?”
Wen Yang looked worried, but he only saw Ning Chu’s back rushing out of the room.
His expression was a bit strange as he let go of the two drunks, muttering to himself, “Why do I feel like Ning Chu’s back looks like a girl’s?”
In just a few minutes, Ning Chu came back with a small cart, proudly saying, “I borrowed a pushcart from the restaurant kitchen. It’s a bit dirty, but they probably won’t mind.”
This was a small four-wheeled cart used for transporting ingredients, not very large.
“Not bad!” Wen Yang looked quite surprised.
He always thought his roommate was shy; he didn’t expect that in just a few minutes, he’d successfully borrowed a cart from the restaurant.
Zhang Shaoqing was at least still conscious, sitting obediently on the cart, hugging his knees, curling up to take up as little space as possible.
Wang Jie also managed to sit on the cart, two big guys squeezed onto a less-than-a-square-meter cart, looking like two hundred-pound kids just trying to fit.
“If they go back to school like this, they’ll be a joke tomorrow,” Wen Yang said with a chuckle as he pushed the cart. Turning around, he saw Ning Chu jump slightly, quickly hiding his raised phone behind him.
“Never mind, just film their embarrassing history; send me a couple of pics when we get to the dorm.”
With Wen Yang’s approval, Ning Chu’s eyes lit up as he took multi-angle shots of the two drunk guys’ silly moments, saving them on his phone.
Seeing Ning Chu so lively and different from usual, and those fair and delicate calves peeking out from his shorts, Wen Yang squinted his eyes, feeling a bit hesitant.
“Got something to ask?” Ning Chu noticed his strange expression and explained, “I’ve had some trouble at home lately, so I’ve been a bit down and quiet.”
“Not that, I meant to say, you…”
“Hmm?”
Wen Yang’s gaze subtly swept over Ning Chu’s waist and legs, unsure of how to start, he finally just said, “Forget it.”
“You’re a tease, saying half and leaving me hanging.”
Ning Chu turned around, glaring at Wen Yang.
Those bright big eyes, even when angry, gave off a cute and charming vibe.
“Spit it out! What’s the question?”
“Uh… What kind of shower gel do you use? I noticed it smelled nice while we were eating.”
He paused, looking down to sniff his own arm, confused as he looked back at Wen Yang, “What scent? I’m just sweaty; probably just smells like sweat?”
“Really?”
Ning Chu’s expression suddenly darkened, “What else could it be?”
The growing signs made him realize that he might really be playing the role of the girl hidden in the boys’ dorm, pinned down by Wen Yang.
This is ridiculous!
Others transmigrate to become heroes and achieve great things, or at least become villains enjoying life.
But him? He became one of the male lead’s lucky charms in the Small Royal Text?
