Chapter 246: Late Night
“Taking a shower is such a hassle!”
Ning Chu panted as she stepped out of the bathroom, completely soaked.
Might as well just strip down and wash up with Hei Dou; it wouldn’t make much of a difference.
She grabbed a new bath towel from the closet, turned around, and went back into the bathroom, wrapping Hei Dou up tightly before picking up her hair towel and wrapping it around Hei Dou’s head too.
Hei Dou stood there with a face of despair, frozen in place, letting Ning Chu maneuver her as she pleases.
Looks like she’s having a breakdown.
“You have to shower every night from now on, or you’ll stink like a dirty sock,” Ning Chu laughed, not a bit sympathetic. “You’re a human now! Not a cat!”
Hei Dou turned her head away and muttered, “Being a cat is better.”
She was already half a year old and had only taken two baths today.
The thought of having to get bathed every day going forward made her feel like her future was bleak, with no hope in sight.
Her eyes looked like they were broken, empty and soulless.
Ning Chu sighed and pulled Hei Dou out of the bathroom to the mirror, helping her dry her hair while saying, “Once your hair’s dry, we can go eat barbecue—it’s all meat.”
At the mention of food, those soulless eyes immediately lit up.
“Yay!”
For Hei Dou, eating had become the ultimate goal of life.
Ning Chu smirked, and after she finished drying Hei Dou’s hair, she turned on the hairdryer. In an instant, Hei Dou jumped up and dashed to the corner of the room like a lightning bolt.
“Seriously…”
Not only was she afraid of water, but also of electrical appliances.
For a Cat Girl who had just been a cat yesterday, that was pretty normal.
“Come over! Do you still want to eat barbecue?”

Ning Chu was busily trying to dry Hei Dou’s hair and using the towel to wipe Hei Dou’s cat tail, overwhelmed and completely unaware of Wen Yang’s slightly restless gaze.
“Yeah, it only takes half an hour by taxi round trip.”
“This cat makes such a fuss just taking a bath; I almost died from exhaustion.”
She complained, tossing the towel aside and adjusting the bath towel a bit, saying, “Alright, go eat barbecue.”
“Yay!”
Hei Dou dashed excitedly towards the coffee table.
“I’m going to shower too; I’m all wet… Wen Yang, keep an eye on Hei Dou.”
Wen Yang gulped, glancing at Hei Dou who was busy opening the takeout box, and approached Ning Chu, who was rummaging through the closet for her pajamas.
Leaning closer to Ning Chu, he whispered in an expectant tone, “How about we shower together?”
Ning Chu froze for a moment, not replying, but he clearly saw her fair neck quickly flush with a rosy hue.
Excited, he reached for his pajamas from the closet but was swatted away by Ning Chu, “Get lost!”
Hei Dou was still in the room! Together? Not a chance!
She would spoil Hei Dou for sure!
Ning Chu turned, shot Wen Yang an annoyed glare, and casually grabbed a pajama before heading into the bathroom.
Sighing helplessly, Wen Yang sat down at the edge of the bed, watching Hei Dou devouring the skewers.
Seeing Hei Dou getting sauce all over her face, he pulled out a few tissue papers and handed them over, “Wipe your mouth.”
“Ow!”
I must admit, having a daughter feels really nice.
Watching Hei Dou’s cute antics, his earlier annoyance melted away, and he smiled, teasingly asking, “Can I have a bite?”
Hei Dou paused, looking at Wen Yang cautiously, “Just… just a couple bites?”
“Yeah, I want that meaty one, the chicken leg.”
Her expression instantly fell, and with a pitiful look, she handed the chicken leg over to Wen Yang, “Dad, you eat less.”
In just two bites, Wen Yang had eaten more than half of the chicken leg.
Hei Dou froze, her eyes welling up with tears visibly.
Wen Yang also froze, panicking to reassure her, “Dad will buy you two chicken legs tomorrow!”
“Okay!”
Seeing Hei Dou’s face light up, he doubted whether he was being manipulated by this Cat Girl.
“Remember to call me brother and Ning Chu sister from now on.”
“Mm-hmm.”
Wen Yang smiled, ruffling Hei Dou’s little head and pinching her perky cat ears, then turned to glance at the bathroom, where the sound of running water came from.
Though Hei Dou was adorable, it meant he and Ning Chu had to avoid being affectionate around her from now on.
Thinking of that… Hei Dou had been standing on the nightstand yesterday, watching them be affectionate.
Wen Yang’s face turned a rare shade of red, wondering if Hei Dou could understand the actions of couples.
“Time to sleep, time to sleep~”
Ning Chu stretched lazily as she walked out of the bathroom, wearing a short sleep dress, her love-shaped tail swaying beneath the skirt.
She caught a glimpse of Wen Yang, and seeing his dazed gaze fixed on her, felt a sense of satisfaction mixed with a touch of shyness.
The short dress was exceptionally thin and form-fitting; though it was comfortable and didn’t hinder the tail’s movement, it was undeniably a bit revealing.
Especially in front, without a bra, her two little points were rather prominent.
Most of her sleepwear was bought by her mother, with the exception of a long skirt that was somewhat conservatively, the rest of her sleepwear could only be described as… very succubus-like.
Ning Chu darted onto the bed and quickly covered herself with the blanket, while Hei Dou, full and satisfied, hopped onto the bed ready to sleep.
“Go brush your teeth before sleeping.”
“Ow!”
Hei Dou quickly got up, stepping on the blanket and jumping off the bed, excitedly running back to the bathroom.
“I’m going to take a shower too and get ready for bed.”
Ning Chu turned off the light and shifted positions, lying on the edge of the bed.
Not long after, Hei Dou and Wen Yang lay down on the bed as well.
The once spacious bed felt a bit cramped, as Hei Dou’s petite form took up the most space, curling up and separating Wen Yang and Ning Chu to either side of the bed.
What was supposed to be their intimate time at night was now interrupted by a Cat Girl, as if a galaxy was between them…
“Sleep well, sleep well.”
Wen Yang sighed forlornly, and Ning Chu’s face showed discontent at the absence of her human pillow.
