Chapter 131

I grabbed the handle that was passed to me.

Overall, it was a sword that had a pitch-black color. The handle was perfectly pitch-black, and at the end, there was a decorative weight to help keep the balance.

On the cross-guard that extended straight to the sides, something triangular was engraved, climbing up the center of the blade. The thin triangular pattern ended at the one-third mark of the sword.

I held the handle with both hands and raised it vertically in front of my chest, with the blade pointing upwards. Seeing me like this, Ceres grinned widely.

“Do you like it? Is there anywhere uncomfortable? You can swing it once here. Just don’t break my stuff. No wait, I’ll let you break one or two things if it’s not too expensive.”

“…I don’t think so.”

I let Ceres’s excited voice flow through one ear and out the other while I slowly observed the surface of the sword.

My reflection shimmered on the gray blade’s surface. It was smooth and shiny enough to use as a mirror. If properly maintained, it would probably keep that smoothness for a lifetime.

I felt really tense. Even I, who had only handled kitchen knives and cutters before diving into Brightest Darkness 4, could tell that fact almost instantly.

“Since you say there’s nothing uncomfortable, I guess my skills aren’t dead yet. Oh, and one more thing. Since I made that when I was crazy about swords, it has some extra features. What those are—huh?”

Before Ceres finished her sentence, I gripped the handle tightly and poured in my ‘will.’ Suddenly, the gray blade turned a vibrant blue, like mana.

“What? How did you know?”

I quietly zipped my lips and poured in my will once more, gripping the handle again. The blue blade changed color precisely at the center, with the left side turning gold and the right side silver.

“…You also know that? What the heck are you? How did you find out?”

“Well, I’m not sure. Maybe the sword told me itself.”

“When did I say it was the Egosword I created?”

I simply did what the NPC model of Ceres explained in the game, but I couldn’t exactly reveal that, so I awkwardly brushed it off. Ceres looked baffled.

Once again, I tightened my grip, and the blade regained its original gray color. The soft white light that had been illuminating the area faded away.

I sheathed the sword in the scabbard Ceres handed me. With a click, the satisfaction of the sword fitting perfectly into its sheath was undeniable. I secured the sheath to my belt.

‘Finally, the day has come to get this.’

This was none other than the sword that bore the name ‘Wingless Nightmare’ in the game.

It was the best and the most powerful one-handed sword with overwhelmingly broken specs among all the weapons in Brightest Darkness 4.

Though it was a one-handed sword, it had the reach of a greatsword, exceptional hit confirmation, an overwhelming super armor that could withstand all of Brightest Darkness 4’s attacks, excellent attack power bonuses, outstanding self-specs, impressive scaling attack values, light weight, and attack speed that was only slightly slower than that of a dagger. Its special abilities dealt tremendous damage with incredibly short cooldowns, consumed minimal mana, had three types of elemental abilities, and wouldn’t suffer reduced damage from monsters’ properties, plus it could even be freely enchanted with an added feature to amplify the enchant rate.

With just this one weapon, I could inflict physical damage, magic damage, and divine damage all at once, simply by changing the sword’s properties like I just did a moment ago.

It was a weapon that met all the conditions to be called utterly broken.

To stash such an outrageous weapon into a side quest line that couldn’t normally be discovered and to have to deal with that ridiculous holy water delivery was clearly a blatant intention on the developers’ part.

If that kind of ridiculous delivery quest was mandatory, those who made Brightest Darkness 4 would deserve to be buried at the bottom of the Pacific.

“It’s exactly what I wanted. Thank you, Ceres.”

“Thank me? I should actually be the one thanking you. It’s all thanks to you guys.”

Ceres smiled brightly while subtly squeezing her arms in, emphasizing her chest. Beneath her underboob crop top that she wore while working as a blacksmith, her extraordinarily large breasts gathered effortlessly.

They could rival those of the popes, if not a few sizes larger—a chest that truly deserved the title of “huge breasts.” Sweat trickled down the valleys created by her breasts, gliding along the curves.

The clothes she originally wore didn’t fit at all, so she had to cobble together makeshift clothes from random scraps of fabric. As a result, even covering her nipples was a precarious affair.

“Oh, but there is a bit of discomfort. It’s hard doing blacksmithing because ‘my breasts are too big.’”

The way Ceres deliberately emphasized a specific phrase made her grin even wider. My eyes were focused on her chest, and it seemed as if she was inviting me to appreciate it further by playing with her breasts.

As soon as she gulped down the potion she had created, her breasts grew larger than her head, and rather than caring that her shirt was shredded, exposing her nipples, she joyfully groped herself.

If Minerva hadn’t scolded her to wear some clothes, she would likely have started bouncing around, groping her breasts, unable to contain her excitement.

Just a few hours earlier, she had locked herself in the workshop, pouring her very soul into crafting the best weapon for me.

Outside the window, the sun was already beginning to set, painting the sky in hues of dusk.

“You’re going to be uncomfortable from now on, so you should get used to it.”

“I know. It might be uncomfortable because ‘my breasts are too big.’ But what can I do? I have to accept that they’re just big.”

I recalled an NPC who laughed while saying, “It’s tough to wash when your hair is too thick.” I offered a slightly awkward smile. Fortunately, Ceres didn’t seem to catch on to my expression.

“Well then, we’ll be taking our leave now.”

“Huh? Are you leaving already? I was thinking of having a drink since it’s been a while. You can have some before you go. I won’t ask you for money.”

“We still have things to do. We’ll come back when we have the time.”

Minerva, who had been puffing her cheeks since a while ago, was tugging at my sleeve. We needed to head out to find the Crystal Scroll soon.

If we lingered here any longer, it felt like the Great Mage would lose all dignity and start rolling on the floor, begging us to go find the scroll.

“You guys can drop by anytime, so don’t hesitate and come visit whenever!”

Ceres came out to the door to see us off. Every time she waved her hand, her oversized breasts swayed, exuding an overwhelming aura.

Once Minerva confirmed we were far enough away, she finally spoke up.

“I’m glad the child didn’t notice your expression.”

“…That’s true.”

I let out a slight sigh.

“The effect doesn’t last forever, right?”

It seemed Minerva had reached a conclusion just from one glance at my expression. I nodded with a bitter smile.

In the game, the original NPC for Ceres developed a hair growth potion, granting her wonderfully luscious hair, but the problem was that it didn’t last permanently.

After defeating the final boss of each route and clearing the main story, if you returned, you would find the NPC with all her hair fallen out, drowning her sorrows in drink.

So, it was clear what Ceres’s fate would be. A few years from now, she’d return with a forlorn appearance, lacking any curves except for her nipples.

That was why I couldn’t laugh along with her. I already knew the outcome of those breasts.

“Are we going to get the Crystal Scroll now, child?”

“I got the weapon, so shouldn’t I?”

Snapping out of my thoughts, I spread out the map and traced back to the location where the Crystal Scroll was. Minerva was looking at me with an eager expression.

“This is it.”

I pointed to a spot. It was situated deep within the mountains. As soon as Minerva checked the coordinates, she promptly raised her staff and used teleportation.

And just like that, in the blink of an eye, we were at the spot I indicated. While I stood there, dumbfounded at the change in scenery, Minerva urged me on.

“What should we do here?”

“Uh… please find the waterfall first. A really big one.”

Without delay, Minerva unleashed a wave of mana. After closing her eyes and concentrating for a while, she swung her staff. Again, in an instant, the surrounding scenery shifted.

From nearby came a splash, a powerful waterfall sound reverberating through the air.

‘…This is bigger than in the game.’

I stared up at the mesmerizing sight of the waterfall that was at least the height of a 20-story apartment building, representing a marvel of magic.

The waterfall cascaded from a cliff, so high that it rained down in torrents.

If not for the barrier that Minerva had cast, I would’ve undoubtedly become a drenched rat.

—Is this it, child? Don’t worry; you can just speak. I can understand everything.

A voice echoed directly in my mind. It was Minerva’s.

“Yes. This is it.”

—But this waterfall has been inspected by teams several times before, you know? They concluded there was nothing here a long time ago.

I knew that. It was written in the document you could find in the game about how they had checked here multiple times.

A waterfall this enormous could only suggest something was hidden behind it. Surely the mad wizards who coveted the ancient scrolls had checked this place at some point.

It was right to think something was here.

However, the position was wrong.

“It’s not behind the waterfall; it’s beneath the waterfall.”

I pointed to where the water was pouring down. The sheer amount of water was so great that it not only splashed but created whirlpools.

“Could you please redirect the water from the waterfall, Minerva? Just clear the area where the water is falling.”

Minerva promptly obeyed my instruction. Her staff lightly struck the ground, and a mirror-like circular space opened up, sucking in all the water from the waterfall and redirecting it to a slightly distant location.

Water poured in from both sides to fill the void, but the sound of the waterfall ceased. It was a bizarre scene that looked as if a serene pond had formed in the midst of cascading water.

Once the waterfall vanished, the surroundings fell silent.

“It’s done. Is there anything else left to do?”

“Just maintain the magic for me. It won’t take long.”

I stood calmly in place. Minerva fidgeted beside me, seemingly losing patience as she awaited the appearance of the scroll.
