It’s been a few days since we left Jorgen.
We walked eastward and eastward past the royal capital, and finally arrived at Iris Lake.
On the way, we were attacked by monsters, monsters, monsters, and monsters, but we got through it with Earlv’s magic and [Peerless] and managed to arrive safely. Really, I can’t wait to get some skills that will make me stronger in normal time.
Thanks to this, my levels have gone up repeatedly and I’ve accumulated over 100 SP.
Muscle strength: EEEEE
Physical Strength: EE+
Skills: [Level Reset] [Peerless].
“What shall we do? Do you want to try getting the skill again?”
Earlv says as she holds out her own Skill Crystal, but I refuse it with one hand.
“I’ll stop here. It’s not like I’ll always get a rainbow skill.”
Besides, there’s no point in getting it now if it’s going to be gone in a day when the other skills come out.
And if I need a few thousand points to get a rainbow skill, I am going to have to be thrifty.
Alright, well, the problem is …….
“This lake, how do we get across to that island?”
You can see that there is an island pocked in the middle of the big Iris Lake, and it looks like a big mansion. There is no bridge, so we have to cross over the water to get there. But we don’t have a boat right now.
“What should we do? At worst, we need to swim.”
“I can’t swim, you know.”
“I didn’t know that. It’s surprising.”
I’m very sorry for Earlv, but please forgive me for that.
“So, you mean we jump with the [Peerless]?”
“Hmmm. It’s not impossible, but it’s hard to use [Peerless] when you’re going to meet an unknown opponent.”
“Oh, I see.”
I want to avoid that as well, since the only way I have to counter a strong enemy right now is the [Peerless].
After that, the two of us tried to come up with a plan, but in the end we couldn’t come up with anything usable.
Just when I was beginning to feel like I was at a loss, a mansion in the distance glittered.
Earlv also seems to have noticed, looking at it and making a “?” mark on her face.
Not long after, a large number of bats flew from the mansion.
“Did you notice?”
I hold up my newly minted sword, and Earlv pulls out a slender sword as well.
But the flying bats didn’t attack us, they huddled together and became a bridge from here to the island.
“Are we welcome?”
“I hope so.”
I hope we don’t get lured in and end up being beaten to a pulp.
We cross the bridge and knock on the door of the big mansion.
Then the door opened with a creak and an old-fashioned sound.
But there was no one there, and there was a darkness that made it impossible to see inside at all.
“Rox. Is it all fine?”
Earlv asks me, breaking out in a cold sweat.
“What? If you’re scared, you can stay outside and wait.”
“……, it’s nothing.”
“Okay, let’s go then.”
I took Earlv’s shying hand and walked into the darkness, forcibly pulling her along.
As I entered, I could see that it was too dark to see anything.
I walked straight ahead, not knowing what awaits us.
“Rox, are you sure this is the right way?”
“I don’t know. Don’t ask me.”
I’ve never been here before, so how would I know? I’m in trouble here, so I have no choice but to go straight ahead.
After a few minutes of walking, I saw a white light in the distance.
Apparently, that’s the way out of this darkness.
We quicken our steps towards the light and jump into it.
We found ourselves standing in what looked like an audience hall in the royal castle.
“This is ……?”
Earlv scurries around.
“Welcome to my mansion.”
Suddenly, I thought I heard a voice, and a large number of bats appeared from somewhere and started gathering on the luxurious chair.
And it formed the shape of a person, and eventually became a single …… little girl.
“Kukuku. Bow down in front of this terrifying figure, human. Alright, my name is …….”
“No. Wait a minute.”
I held out my palm to her and I interrupted her as she began to make a pose.
The little girl swells her cheeks in a pout as if she was dissatisfied.
“Uh, I made a mistake.”
I take Earlv’s hand again and turn on my heel.
Earlv upset with “eh, eh”, but I guess she just can’t handle the suddenness of it. I’ll explain later.
“Wait, wait! I thought you were supposed to be here for me!”
Behind me, the little girl shouts in a high-pitched voice.
I had no choice but to explain to the little girl with a sigh in my voice.
“You know what? We’re looking for a 400 year old woman. She’s a monster, a vampire with evil eyes. You’re like five years old, right? I don’t have time to play with you. Do you understand?”
Hearing my words, the little girl stepped on the ground while her face turned red.
“You call me an old woman, a monster, and a five-year-old. I am the vampire with the evil eye!”
Huh? This little girl?
“Of course. You’ve come to ask me about my rainbow skills. Ragnus, and Nina, haven’t you!?”
“Why our name…”
“You know, don’t you? You know that I have the gift of the evil eye, which sees all things.”
The little girl throws words at me, slightly annoyed.
That’s what the guild master said. So she knows our purpose and our names.
“You’re the vampire with the evil eye. ……”
“I told you so from the start! Ahem, once again.”
With that, the little girl turned her palms to us and struck a pose.
“My name is Scarlett Bradley. People call me “The Vampire with the Evil Eye” because they are in awe of me.”
The little girl smiled smugly as she said that, as if she was satisfied.
