The concept of chastity on the Pan Continent is a remnant of the God-slaying War.
This change applied not only to humans but equally to monsters.
Thus, it was common knowledge that monsters had stronger female sexual urges… but I never expected it to go berserk the moment we made eye contact.
“Hey, little Juji! Stop, Gob!”
“Kyaaaaaaah!!!”
“Give me the seed, Gob!”
“Don’t come wobbling around with your breasts hanging out!!”
“I’ll be nice since it’s my first time, Gob!”
“I don’t need a maiden goblin!!”
It was fortunate that I found the goblin first. Sneaking up for a crossbow shot at the back of its head seemed like a good idea.
However, the arrow I hastily fashioned and shot went off in a weird trajectory. As soon as the goblin spotted me, it went into heat, which was a very, very big problem.
What is this intense reaction? I get that it’s a monster living by instincts, but this is over the top!
“Help me, Lydia! At this rate, I’ll end up a virgin forever…!”
“No way. Jonah can do it. You got this!”
Lydia, supporting me with a straight face, was infuriatingly just cheering for me.
“Just a little! You could help me out just a bit!”
“Got it, Gob! I’ll just put the tip in, Gob!”
“I wasn’t talking to you!!”
I snapped and turned around, only to immediately regret it.
A face with half of it covered in a hook-nose, green skin filled with blemishes and acne. The lust-filled expression twisted into something hideous.
And if the face looked this bad, the body beneath was worse.
Wearing nothing but a wrap at the waist, the open outfit left nothing to the imagination. Thanks to that, the hanging breasts drooped like they were melting on a hot day, and the grotesquely swollen belly stood out against its skinny limbs.
Lastly, something I really didn’t want to know or see: every time that thing ran after me, liquid flowed down its legs…
“Graaaaah!!”
The immense mental damage made me involuntarily scream.
Yeah. Since falling into this world, I never once felt threatened about chastity.
The fact that women on the Pan Continent were generally beautiful helped, but my perceptions and desires from my past life remained unchanged.
But the biggest reason was that I had never found myself in a truly dangerous situation.
The closest I came to danger was when I was kidnapped by the Twin Dagger Clan… but Lydia rescued me, so it ended without any issues.
But what about now? An atrocious monster, like an embodiment of the phrase “little demon,” is charging at me brandishing a club. And it looks pretty strong.
I can’t help but feel a chill run down my spine and my butt clench tight.
Pure terror. But this quickly morphed into another feeling.
I, being somewhat of the original author here. Regardless of my body, I have the mind of a grown man. Sure, I might have totally bombed, but I still have the perks of reincarnation.
And yet, why the hell should I be shaking in fear of a goblin and not a dragon?
“Y-you little….”
Rage surged up, igniting my chest. I’ll kill it. That goblin absolutely must die…!
Its appearance was shockingly disgusting, but looking closely, it was running slightly slower than me.
However, its muscle strength seemed to be considerably superior. It hadn’t even swung properly, and I already heard a terrifying crack from the club it was flailing around.
“Gob Gob! Come on, curse me more, Gob! I like a guy who fights back, Gob!”
“Not a chance!”
Luckily, the goblin was careless. True, it had fallen to madness and become a monster, but that granted it strength comparable to an adult human.
How easy must I have looked in its eyes as prey? I was actually in the middle of running away in terror.
Well, it’s not about life-threatening danger, but more about a threat to my chastity.
You could say it’s similar to a cockroach I was trying to catch suddenly flying toward me.
“Ah.”
Only then did I realize. My trembling was not out of fear, but disgust.
Once I got past the physiological revulsion, my mind surprisingly calmed down. In contrast, I felt a surge of vitality wash over my body.
No, my body had probably been like this even before. Right now, I needed to maximize my agility, and at least against a goblin, I couldn’t be beaten in agility.
I strained my legs against the ground. A brief moment of being airborne. During that time, I curled my body and twisted backward.
I flipped my body around to match the direction I was running.
“Gob?!”
The goblin seemed startled when it suddenly faced me, trembling in confusion. In the meantime, I used the curl of my body and sprang off the ground like a spring.
Skiiiish—
The first foot I planted stretched out on the ground, halting my body mid-air.
Thud!
The second foot planted again propelled my body forward.
Towards the goblin.
It swung its club around in panic, sensing the movement.
“G-gob!”
For a reflexive action, it was a pretty accurate judgment. If hit properly, my momentum would shatter not only my body but also likely leave me rolling on the ground. …But dodging was all I needed to do.
I held my breath and tilted my body as if about to fall.
In a near-collapsed position, the goblin’s club missed my head, thudding into the ground behind me.
Thwack!
The club was deeply lodged in the earth, dirt flying everywhere. Using that as a signal, I aimed the dagger in my right hand towards its shoulder.
I had my sights set on the arm of that goblin, which had just become rigid from swinging its weapon.
“Hup!”
Thrust.
“G-gob!!”
Despite not using much strength, the dagger easily pierced through its green skin, staining its upper arm with blood.
Ah, indeed. When they say you should compensate for lacking specs with equipment, this is what they mean. A sharp weapon goes right through!
The goblin’s face twisted in horror and pain. Meanwhile, my face was lit up with excitement from the battle. It was a complete reversal from earlier. Giggling to myself, I extended my leg.
The goblin has plenty of weak points, but the one that could help me now was its lack of lower vision.
Goblin’s neck is short, its limbs are thin, but its belly is absurdly swollen. Naturally, it had trouble checking what was below.
Perhaps because of the pain from its wounded forearm, its sight was narrowing. It didn’t even notice when I stealthily tripped its foot.
While striking its heel with my shoe, I exerted strength into the palm holding the dagger.
My muscle strength felt insignificant, but it was still enough to shove a goblin that had one leg dangling.
Thud!
“Gah!”
The goblin fell to the ground, hitting its back of the head hard. Perhaps it was still instinct, but the monster tried to grasp its club with its good hand despite the pain.
“This is mine now.”
Before it could react, my left hand swiftly snatched its club. There’s no moment more vulnerable than when transferring an item from hand to hand.
The goblin missed its timing to get up and couldn’t swing its weapon effectively. Strangely, instead of resisting till the end, it started begging for its life.
“P-please, Gob! It’s all my fault, Gob. I’ll do anything, Gob… just spare my life… I don’t want to die like this, Gob…”
What a pitiful voice. But that wasn’t a reason for me to stop. I pulled out the dagger lodged in its arm and aimed it downwards towards its chest.
Thrust!
The sharp blade easily sliced through flesh and muscle. But it got stuck in the ribs, only going halfway.
No matter how good the weapon is, it’s hard to pierce a bone with a one-handed plunge, I guess.
The goblin sighed in relief, glad to be alive. In front of such a creature, I held its club high, demonstrating triumph with both hands.
“I’ll just put the tip in! Don’t worry!”
“Gob?!”
I retorted the words it had said back at it and drove the club down toward the handle of the dagger.
Thud!
With a heavy sound, the dagger plunged deeper into the bone, while also likely puncturing a lung, letting loose nothing but a sound of leaking air—effectively silencing the goblin.
It thrashed around, trying to pull out the knife lodged in its chest.
“Stay still.”
“……!”
I stomped on its hand, firmly pinning it down. Considering the natural disparity in strength, it shouldn’t have been possible. But how much strength could a dying monster muster?
The only thing it could do now was glare at me with eyes full of resentment.
…It’s hard to understand why it looks so aggrieved when it committed such acts.
Thus, I glared back at it with wide eyes until its breathing grew faint and its tremors subsided, its eyes finally closing as it died. Just in case, I pulled the dagger from its heart and shoved it into the goblin’s neck. I had to confirm the kill.
Squelch.
With merely a light slice, the head plopped off. I grabbed its hair and hurriedly went toward Lydia.
With the goblin’s head in hand, I beamed a smile.
“Lydia! Lydia! I won! Goblins aren’t that tough, are they?!”
“…….”
“Wow, if I had known this dagger would be that sharp, I would have slashed instead of stabbed. What a pity!”
“…….”
“But still… isn’t it enough that I won?! Lydia must have known this would happen and chose to cheer me on instead of helping, right? Thank you! I feel like I understand something now!”
Lydia looked at me, seemingly flabbergasted. After swallowing once, she cautiously asked.
“…Jonah, goblins maintain a certain level of intelligence. Was it hard when it begged for its life? Did you feel pity?”
“Me?”
“Yeah.”
“Against a goblin?”
“Yeah.”
“Why?”
“…….”
Lydia clenched her eyes shut. She grabbed my shoulder and said in a serious tone.
“…You should definitely become an adventurer.”
“???”
I have no idea why she’s saying this.
