It took a month to complete “Sim City,” and it had a structure that was very different from the Sim City I knew.
First of all, various original elements suited for the Other World were added.
Races such as Humans, Elves, Dark Elves, and Dwarves were included, along with the natural environment of the Other World, such as mana density.
Moreover, historical disaster incidents like “Demon Lord Resurrection” and “The Meteor of the Sealed Wizard” were added as disaster events.
Elements from “Rollercoaster Land” and other simulation games were also incorporated.
And the most critical and significant feature of such simulation games was vastly enhanced—editor functions.
We focused on creating actual simulations by designing the terrain and components of the Other World, including houses, natural environments, and buildings.
We made it almost on the level of a “game engine,” surpassing just a “game editor.”
Of course, that was the purpose of creating Sim City.
Before releasing Sim City to the world, we decided to show our cities, which we each built according to our preferences.
An hour later, we gathered to begin our presentations.
“Shall we start with Lauren?”
“Of course! Everyone, enjoy! This is the most beautiful city in the Empire, ‘Lorend’!!”
Lauren, being a graphic designer, created a truly beautiful and stunning green city.
It was so well-made that I couldn’t distinguish it from the city I created, complete with the red roofs and a swimming pool by the river utilizing the river water, just as Lauren described it.
“Oh~ it’s pretty.”
“What do you think? Beautiful, right!? How about making this my city as it is?”
Lauren seemed proud of the city she created.
I quietly approached Lauren’s Sim City, changed the weather to rainy, and initiated the simulation.
Then…
SPLASH!!
“My house, Lauren!!!”
“Flood!!!!!”
In an instantaneous turn of events, Lauren’s city Lorend, which focused on aesthetics but completely neglected drainage facilities, was flooded.
Especially, the house Lauren built by the riverside was the first to get submerged, with only the red roof barely visible, signifying it was Lorend.
“You should’ve considered the rainy season; disqualified!!”
“Waaaah!!! My Lorend!!!”
Watching the people working hard to restore the flooded city, I left Lauren’s city.
Next up were Noirin and Barren.
“Yuren, we built this together.”
“Would you like to take a look?”
“You two? … Let’s see.”
Feeling a bit anxious, I checked out their city.
What lay before me was a fortified steel city connected by intricately designed roads, complete with a gun shop and shooting range.
“Total road length: 32 km! Is this a racetrack!?”
“A racetrack? We just connected everything with roads!”
“And why are there so many gun shops and shooting ranges!?”
“We built plenty of facilities to defend ourselves from foreign invasions, Yuren.”
A city preparing for foreign invasions by arming itself and building walls…
I imagined Lord Herness clutching his neck while Mineva brought an army.
It was obvious that building such a city implied a confrontation with the central army, so I disqualified them.
“Next up is Jiren?”
“Yes! Please take a look at my dream and hope city!!”
I turned to see Jiren’s city.
Interestingly, Jiren had set the time to night.
As the simulation began, fireworks exploded.
Jiren’s city unveiled itself, filled with fireworks and bright lights.
Everywhere you looked were pubs, pubs, pubs, pubs—essentially, the world’s bars were all gathered here—
And amidst them, gambling houses and performance venues were neatly arranged.
The scene felt less like a place of dreams and hopes, but rather a city of revelry and indulgence.
Ah, there was one positive aspect.
The citizens’ satisfaction level skyrocketed, reaching MAX!
Indeed, all the citizens were in a euphoric state.
“Hmm… Jiren…”
“Yes! How is it, Shishou?”
“Delete it quickly, before Karen sees it.”
“Huh?”
I had many things to say, but I did my best to consider Jiren’s feelings.
However…
“It’s already too late. Yuren!”
Oh snap, that startled me.
I heard Karen’s intimidating voice from behind.
“What is this, Jiren?”
“So, Karen, it’s…”
I hastily exited the scene, anticipating Karen’s lecture.
Next up was the Master’s city.
The Master’s city was a cold one.
“Um… Master, if the only food is ice cream, ordinary humans will get sick.”
“What!? I definitely made a restaurant, Yuren.”
The Master had indeed made a restaurant.
However, as much as he created one restaurant, he had created 132 ice cream shops!
All of our cities got disqualified, and it was my turn to present my city to everyone.
The true city of dreams and hopes, “Irene Land.”
This city, filled with countless amusement rides like Super Mario World, is our hope!!!
Thus, I confidently presented my Sim City to everyone.
And then…
“This house is too shabby.”
“Where is the clothing store, Yuren?”
“The ice cream shop is too far, Shishou.”
“Even so, half of the city being an amusement park is too much, Shishou.”
I sank due to everyone’s opposition.
What went wrong?
It was a perfect city…
As I was feeling disheartened with my city disqualified, the meeting room door opened, and Julia, Sylvia, and Sora entered.
“Sorry we’re late!”
“Our city has just been completed! Hahaha!!”
“This city was built together by the three of us. Everyone, take a look!”
Including myself, everyone looked at the city created by the three women.
“This… this is!?”
The city built by the three was remarkably ordinary.
“This area is the residential zone, and this is the bustling district. Also, the buildings of Irene School—I thought it would be better to maintain rather than move, so I left them as they were.”
“For the summer rainy season, I placed the residential area away from the river. The flood-prone areas along the river would be good farmland for spring and autumn farming.”
“Besides that, I arranged the amusement facilities, shops, storages, restaurants, and bars in suitable predicted locations based on Zephia standards.”
It was a surprisingly simple city structure, resembling our current village.
But maybe that’s why?
As I watched the simulation screen, I felt at ease.
During the day, people work in the buildings of Irene School or their respective jobs.
At night, they either return to their residences or go to the bars and restaurants to have a good time.
On weekends, they head to the amusement park, which may be smaller than expected, but still offers enough enjoyment.
It was an ordinary life that felt somewhat special here.
“This… is nice?”
“I think so too. My disciples!”
“I also think… I could be satisfied with this level.”
With that, everyone’s opinions converged, deciding unanimously on the city created by Julia, Sylvia, and Sora.
Thus began the southern city, Irene Land.
“Julia, where is our house?”
“Everyone’s houses are set here in the residential area.”
In the designated residential neighborhood, each house had one for everyone.
Everyone was finding their houses and changing the design to suit their wishes, and I searched for mine. But…
“Uh… guys, where’s my house?”
I couldn’t find my nameplate anywhere in the residential area.
What’s going on? Where did my house go?
“Yuren’s house is this one.”
“This one!?”
Sora pointed to the largest house at the edge of the residential area.
It was about three times the size of the other houses, roughly 200 pyeong.
“Why is the house so big? It’s three times the size of others.”
“That’s only natural. It’s a combination of our three houses.”
“Combined!?”
It was only then that I looked at the nameplate of the mansion.
When I tapped the nameplate, it displayed: [Yuren, Sylvia, Julia, Sora].
So that’s why I hadn’t seen it.
“Considering it, I thought it wouldn’t be necessary to build a house near Yuren.”
“Right! We can just live together as we are.”
“So we made Yuren’s house like this.”
Before I could say anything, the Master spoke first.
“Kids! I also want to live in Yuren’s house.”
“I anticipated you’d say that, so I made a room here.”
“Oh! I see! Thank you, Sylvia!!”
As she said that, Sylvia revealed the Master’s room inside the mansion.
It looked very pretty, just like the Master’s room in the current Irene School building.
“Master’s room is located close to the kitchen so you can have ice cream anytime.”
“Really!? Thanks, Sora disciple!”
With that, the Master proudly displayed the interior of the mansion while Julia, Sora, and Sylvia chatted away.
The atmosphere was incredibly warm.
Except for one person…
“Um… guys… my personal space…”
That day, I ended up with a personal mansion that had three plus one residents.
But can this really be called a personal mansion?
