“Th-this makes no sense!”
“Shut it! Does just yelling solve anything?!”
For centuries, the Fairy Council had enjoyed an unbroken peace. But now, this place was, quite literally, a cauldron of shock and fear.
The elder fairies were in a state of utter disarray at the shocking news from Earth, unable to think straight.
“Please, quiet down. Flailing about won’t produce any answers.”
The chairperson was barely holding it together, but in truth, he had no sharp solutions either.
“This is not a light matter, Chairperson! We have carefully selected worlds to operate the Magical Girl System. None of them have ever allowed for self-acquisition of magical power in the middle of it all. This simply cannot be allowed!”
But despite the chairperson’s attempts to calm the situation, one elder shouted with a trembling voice, acknowledging just how serious the situation was.
The fairies were extremely stringent and meticulous in selecting worlds to operate magical girls—worlds where the secret of magical girls would remain undiscovered and thus, not interfere with their business.
“Earth was that attractive. Billions ignorant of magical power, the consciousness of developed humans, and countless achievements to boot! But it started off shaky, and now we have a massive incident just twenty years in!”
The reason for their meltdown was clear. As long as the magical girl could not become an extraordinary being there, she could not possess any special significance.
If the angel of justice judging evil were to fall to the level of an awakened one, it would be obvious that the efficiency would plummet. Compared to situations like the formation of a rogue organization like Casilena, this was a far graver issue.
A drop in efficiency meant a drop in results.
A drop in results meant that the fairies’ power was diminishing, which was a life-threatening matter in their eyes.
“How are you going to take responsibility, Chairperson? I don’t think this variable is unrelated to the monsters of Nebaros!”
“Calm down, Winston.”
The chairperson, referring to an elderly man named Winston, whispered into his ear, but the chairperson merely frowned and pushed him away.
“The monsters of Nebaros can’t be that intelligent. This is the result of another variable intervening.”
“Another variable? What could that possibly be?”
Winston, still lost, glanced at the other elders who were in the same clueless state.
Under normal circumstances, he would have spoken up without reservation, as he was one of the most respected elders. However, he now felt the need to be cautious.
Winston himself was part of a small group, including the chairperson and a few other members, that had deliberately opened a dimension gate to Nebaros on Earth. Of course, this act stomped on even the last vestige of the very few remaining wills of Yggdrasil, making it extremely confidential even among the fairies.
“Everyone, please be quiet. We need to take some time to devise a strategy!”
The chairperson, with a wrinkled face, ignored Winston’s words and banged his gavel hard enough to send waves of magical energy rippling through the room, causing everyone to look at him in unison.
“This is an unprecedented historical incident. I believe we all agree.”
“Indeed.”
“Do you have a strategy?”
“We can’t give up on Earth. I believe you will agree with that.”
The chairperson shared his thoughts calmly with the panicking council members.
“We will hasten the banquet that was set for recently. And without exception, we will summon all magical girls.”
“Chairperson, you can’t mean…”
“Details will be decided then, but I personally believe in trampling down any signs of rebellion.”
The council members were taken aback by the idea of summoning all magical girls, but the chairperson’s eyes sparkled. “Trampling down any signs of rebellion” was an implication with clear intention.
“But Chairperson! We also need to consider the public sentiment of Earth! If we do something like that, it will turn all magical girls against us!”
A startled Winston interjected. Yet the chairperson shook his head as if there was a method to his madness.
“There’s already a crazy girl running wild, causing all sorts of trouble. If she takes the lead, the arrows won’t point back at us!”
The moment the chairperson softly smiled and opened his mouth, a chilling silence fell. They all knew who he was referring to.
“From now on, I ask all council members to come up with a way to control the SSS-class supreme Magical Girl Takilas by the day of the banquet.”
By taking action against Takilas, the chairperson was essentially unsheathing a double-edged sword that promised to spill blood.
“Rana, it’s a free-for-all.”
“Ha.”
Of course, this decision from the council also impacted Rana, the head of the organization to which Takilas belonged.
Having been confined to her home, Rana couldn’t help but laugh hollowly at the council’s decision that seemed to treat her like some tool.
“This is a crisis for all our fairy kind. In situations like this, I hope you won’t let personal emotions derail the greater purpose. Remember what must take precedence.”
“Of course. I’m sure you will.”
She glared at the fairies who had come to her home, those who had intimidated her, wielded authority and power, imposed all sorts of offenses and disadvantages, and now shamelessly demanded sacrifice and endurance without a single apology when they needed something.
“Those hypocrites make me sick. I want to throw up on these scumbags.”
Rana’s heart had long since left the rotten Fairy Council.
“The deadline is short. Analyze the contract down to the last letter and prepare a basis to control Takilas, so everyone cooperate.”
The council began to invade her company, Rana Land, rummaging through information and causing chaos at will.
Rana could only sit in her disheveled office and watch helplessly.
“Chairperson…”
“I’m fine, Yuria.”
Seeing the head of the sales department, Yuria, visit her, Rana smiled faintly.
“I’ve seen the charisma and leadership of those who’ve held power in various worlds, and I admired them. They change and advance the world. But of course, that comes with its own side.”
Rana murmured bitterly as she lowered her head.
“It’s a clear crisis for the entire group. Yet, at a time when we should unite and work together, those old fairy council members are just looking out for their own interests using their number of seats. Do they have any will to overcome this situation? What about the justice that Yggdrasil admonished us about?”
“Chairperson…”
“They are shameless old fossils without will, justice, and conscience. Yuria, I realized what we must do to survive. We must crush and expel those scumbags in the council, who don’t deserve any respect!”
Rana gritted her teeth.
It wasn’t merely personal malice. She had made a national decision as a “true fairy,” someone who believed she possessed the conscience of fairies who worship Yggdrasil, for the whole race.
“Those old scumbags pretending to be politicians don’t care about us fairies. They only think about how to keep profiting off each other without any reforms or innovations. To them, the new era fairies like us are merely tools to exploit. That’s why I’ve resolved to do whatever it takes to crush them. That is why I’ve had you, to teach the formula for handling magical power on the One Road of Earth.”
The corners of her mouth twisted. In truth, the decision had already been made by her. It was a resolution to carve out the rotten flesh from within.
The fairy council wouldn’t find a way to deal with this extraordinary situation. And as a result, their standing would become precarious, and they wouldn’t evade responsibility.
“Control Takilas? Foolish insects!”
She began to laugh out loud.
Rana, who had directly faced Demon King Takilas, found him to be a brilliant ruler and a powerful monarch. She would bet that even the Fairy Council could be trampled by a demonic realm.
There was no way the now decadent and helpless Fairy Council could manage Takilas.

“The date of the banquet has been moved up. They’re clearly trying to devise a response.”
“I’m curious. What kind of method have they found?”
After the first-period exam ended, Ren, who had been groaning, suddenly opened his mouth as if he had received an answer. The truth was, he had no thoughts on it. Whatever happened to the magical girl didn’t affect his daily life.
“I don’t know about that. And don’t relax too much. If the Fairy Council gives up on Earth, all power will be reclaimed. That means you wouldn’t be able to maintain your appearance!”
“…What?”
“Of course, if that happens, we would also face an unprecedented recession in history.”
It had now transformed into a problem that could no longer be ignored. However, thinking it through again, there was no reason for him to be the first to fret.
No matter what happened, the fact remained that he was the top.
“I guess these crises feel quite similar, huh? Watching how smart and clean those fairies’ leaders are wouldn’t be a bad idea, after all.”
Chaos, it felt like chaos was everywhere these days.
It was a lovely sight, but unless you were the Demon King poised to swallow that chaos, the results were something to look forward to.
Which side would overcome this chaos and ultimately survive and grow?
