Surely, watching live was hilarious.
The cheers and support from people, the commentary team shouting until their voices cracked, and the tense expressions of the players.
You can witness all those scenes right in front of your eyes. Is it called a sense of presence? It’s a world of difference from watching the match on a computer at home.
So that’s why it’s worth the steep price. It sold out way too quickly, and that’s why scalpers are running around. It was just as fun as I expected, but knowing the taste beforehand can be scary, right?
Or maybe it was because Camilla appeared right from the first match. Seeing my biggest reason and wish for coming to watch live unfolding right in front of me was enough to get my excitement pumping.
“Jun Hyuk’s Camilla gets another kill! There’s no way Optimum Prime could keep up with Camilla’s dance moves!”
Wow—!
With the commentator’s voice, cheers erupted from the crowd.
Surely it’s because they are the number one team in the country; every time Fusion Gaming scored, an enormous roar accompanied it. It seems like Optimum has fans too, but there’s definitely a difference in firepower, I mean, even the volume of the cheers was different.
Not long after the second match started, the first kill came in. Fusion Gaming took the lead.
Fusion Gaming still utilized Camilla in the second set. I don’t know why Optimum didn’t ban her. Did they think they could handle it after getting wrecked in the first set? Or did they simply lose it mentally after being completely demolished?
Well, it was a good thing for me. I got to see Camilla’s performance in both sets. The replay of Jun Hyuk’s play, along with Camilla’s first kill, started playing on the big screen.
At the same time, cheers erupted again, filling the colossal dome arena. I couldn’t hold back my excitement either and yelled at the top of my lungs.
“Camilla, Camilla is the best—!”
“Older sister, stop….”
Si Hyun looked at me as if she was embarrassed. She muttered softly and grasped my hand tightly, clearly feeling shy.
But to me, it was perplexing and a bit disappointing. Just a moment ago, during the first match, she was fervently waving a sign that said, “Camilla is the best!” Now she’s feeling embarrassed?
Back in the first match, everyone was waving signs that said “Camilla is the best!” and now they’re feeling embarrassed?
However, I soon understood why Si Hyun felt that way.
For some reason, the gazes of the crowd felt overwhelming. I couldn’t figure out why, but it was true.
During the first match, it wasn’t like this at all. Did something happen in between? It wasn’t that I was yelling and attracting attention, but I could still sense people glancing over from the sides and behind me.
The sharp sensation of those ongoing stares was uncomfortable, yet not bothersome enough to drive me crazy.
Whenever I wandered outside, I usually got this level of attention, and it didn’t feel particularly unpleasant.
They weren’t staring at me with lust, just curious glances. I speculated they were probably looking at me because I resembled Camilla.
In the meantime, the game was progressing steadily.
Before I knew it, it was mid-game, and the score was 6 to 1.
It seemed Fusion Gaming had already taken the momentum. While the score isn’t the end-all indicator, it was clear which team was in the lead just from the numbers.
They were playing boldly, capitalizing on their advantages while slowly tightening the noose around the opposing team. The meticulous pressure was clearly frustrating. If it felt that way for spectators, how must it be for the players?
It was time to roll the dice. If I were in Optimum’s shoes, I would definitely take the gamble now. If they missed this opportunity, they’d just get strangled until their inner fortress crumbled.
There was no way the pros wouldn’t see the angles I noticed.
Right after I thought that, Optimum took the plunge. Three players charged at the ace, Jun Hyuk.
But the opponent was also a pro gamer, the captain of a team renowned for being at the top.
Camilla executed a stunning dance. As she did, the dazzling dribble began, and I couldn’t help but smirk.
“Well, she learned well.”
It felt somewhat sacrilegious to think that about a player who commands a contract worth hundreds of millions.
It was somewhat blasphemous thinking.
The faces of the Optimum players, after their last gamble turned to dust… well, I couldn’t help but feel sorry for them.
One by one, the outer fortress was crushed, and eventually, the inner fortress was destroyed. It was a smooth victory for Fusion Gaming.

“It’s your second game in a row showcasing great play, and you’ve been chosen as MVP. How do you feel?”
It was time for the winner’s interview.
The pretty announcer effortlessly handed the microphone to the player. Naturally, the player receiving the microphone was Lee Jun Hyuk, who played Camilla.
As his figure appeared on the screen, cheers erupted from the crowd just like before. Among them were ear-splitting screams from women. So it was true there were many female fans. Honestly, he is quite handsome when viewed objectively.
I too watched Jun Hyuk’s figure on the screen with a satisfied face. After all, he had played Camilla and earned MVP.
While the pilot’s skill is important, Camilla certainly had a part in him receiving MVP. This is how Camilla’s status rises as planned.
Naturally, she’ll be nerfed now, but he’s already popped out of the league and done everything before that nerf, so I’m relieved in many ways.
Having things go according to plan is a pleasant matter. I watched the winner’s interview while squeezing Si Hyun’s soft cheek.
“Many people, including the commentators and fans, have been curious about your Camilla pick. Could you tell us why you chose Camilla, a non-mainstream hero that hasn’t been used in the league in both the first and second matches?”
“To put it simply, it’s a bit of a long story. Originally, Camilla wasn’t a planned pick. I had a different pick prepared for this season. Camilla was a somewhat hastily thrown-together pick.”
The preparation period was indeed short; it was almost right before the season started. Still, to show such a level of completeness, he truly can be called the world’s best player.
“Hastily thrown-together pick? So you weren’t originally planning to use her?”
The announcer had a look of surprise. Good reactions all around. I think she’d do well in broadcasting.
Just when I was thinking such trivial thoughts.
It was when I was just chilling.
“Yes, I got inspired after watching the play of a player I met in ranked, so I immediately recruited them and learned various things. The build I just played in the game was all crafted by that player.”
Um… the original was mine, but didn’t we tweak it together while chatting? The version used in the tournament was the revised one anyway.
Of course, I didn’t plan to bring it up, and Jun Hyuk kept talking.
“I didn’t know, but apparently they’re quite famous. A few of the team members were already aware of them.”
“Oh, so they’re like a hidden pro in ranked games?”
“Yeah, this person is a Camilla master and primarily plays Camilla, but even if it’s not Camilla, their understanding of the game is incredibly high, not falling behind at all compared to our pros!”
Murmurs filled the audience.
Are you serious? Someone like that exists? Who are they? Those were the kinds of comments floating around.
Should I like this or not? It’s definitely beneficial for broadcasting, it’s like putting gold on my face, so maybe I should like it. But then again, too much attention can be as poisonous as it is sweet.
Was Jun Hyuk sincere when he said he wanted to meet in the pro scene? He kept elevating me during the interview.
At least, thankfully, he didn’t directly mention my nickname. But then again, anyone who knows will already know it’s me.
I don’t know. I haven’t committed any crime; I did something good, so it should work out just fine. Why stress myself over it?
Afterward, I had dinner with Si Hyun and returned home late.
