Chapter 851

Boom!!!

The shrine is collapsing.

Just a single swing of the hammer, and the shrine crumbles like a snack cake.

The subordinate celestial race behind me yelled something, but after getting whacked with the hammer, they flew off into the distance.

“I guess they’re not dead…”

I was planning to capture them and extract some information anyway, but something seemed to absorb part of my attack when I swung the hammer.

Thanks to that, the celestial being survived, and the space warped strangely in the distance, probably due to their escape.

They must have thought fighting was pointless anyway.

[Wow]
[Cut, cut, cut!]
[Look at that direct hit!]
[Big Lily]
[Lily, you’re so violent…]
[What? They’re weak?]
[Lolololololololol]
[Is it okay to do this?]
[It just breaks apart]
[Aren’t we supposed to avoid killing them?]

“Well, we’re here to hunt them down anyway.”

Both the celestial and demon races.

In the end, before the 180 days are up, we have to capture them all to prevent a disaster.

No matter how convincing the words are, it’s the same deal—kill them all.

“Besides, this place isn’t all that impressive. It’s like a set for a play.”

I wandered around the completely collapsed ruins, surveying the area.

For all the talk about the great administrator named Haelro, there’s no proper defense system, and there aren’t even any other celestial beings around.

The only things here are that celestial being from earlier and the flashy-looking shrine building.

I lifted a small plate that still retained its shape amidst the wreckage.

[?]
[Oh]
[Hmm…]
[So it really is Lily’s angel hate, lol]
[What the heck is this?]

“It’s a request board.”

It was a long, white wooden plate.

There were several papers stuck on it, and when I grabbed one, a message popped up in front of me.

[Sub – Light’s Request (Dead One Hunt / Low)]
Objective – Capture one hundred dead ones threatening the world’s balance.
Reward – Reasonable compensation (negotiable).

“?”

This isn’t the usual quest phrasing.
It sounded as if someone had artificially written this—it was a somewhat easy request to capture one hundred dead ones.
Other requests…

[Sub – Light’s Request (City Development / Low)]
Objective – Serve for the Light City (0/10).
Reward – Reasonable compensation (negotiable).

This one is downright nonsense, asking us to serve for them.

[Sub – Light’s Request (Light’s Trial / Medium)]
Objective – Pass the Light’s Trial. You can gain tremendous power.
Reward – Excellent compensation (you can expect good things).

“Trial?”

When you treat me like a bug, now you want me to take a trial?
“Come for a test?”

I felt utterly bewildered, rejecting all the messages that popped up before me and tearing up the quest requests.

“Wow, they’re really trying to lure users with nonsense.”

[LOL for real]
[Seriously though]
[It does look interesting…]
[Heavenly horror Lily, lol]
[I didn’t think Lily would do it]
[Yeah, let’s just break everything, Lily]
[Hmm, Lily…]
[Nice]
[What are you gonna do now?]

“First, I need to deal with them one by one.”

This shrine isn’t the only one around here.

It seems this place is the ‘copy’ version of the original.

Since over a dozen pure white doors appeared in Deoen, entering another door should lead to a similar place.

If I smash through each of those, won’t they finally show their true colors?

Suddenly, I checked the black relic.

The black badge, which had been motionless when capturing the dead, was now reacting violently.

My contribution degree had risen significantly, and it should keep increasing as I break these things one by one.

Of course, things like contribution degree aren’t really that important.

‘What matters is catching all those guys.’

After returning to Deoen, I shifted my steps toward another pure white door.

[Sub Quest: The Destroyer of Light is in progress.]

“No rudeness will be tolerated—”

KWA-BOOM!!

Crashing down…

“Ugh… you will regret this!”

It was already the fifth time I had smashed the quest shrine.

This time it was a celestial being in the form of a man, and his power wasn’t much different from the other celestial beings I had seen so far.

A low-level power without any significant ability.

He was extremely furious about my destructive actions but couldn’t overcome the power difference and ultimately fled.

Of course, I didn’t just let him go.

BAM!!

“Missed him again.”

Whether it’s holy power or magic, once I try to capture them for investigation, the space tears apart, and a distant light comes down to whisk them away.

Even though I tried to block it, that light was made from the ‘top-tier’ celestial powers, making it too reckless to touch.

Of course, if I seriously tried, I could probably block it, but initiating a full-scale battle right now wasn’t a good idea.

‘I’m lacking information.’

Unlike the clear target of the Silence of the Dead, the goals of the celestial beings are still a mystery.

It’s definite that they are members of the heavenly race in Statera, who were the Angels of Balance in the Eight Seats, but I can’t pinpoint exactly who they are.

Moreover, the means to counter them, the black badge, still had room for growth.

For now, it seems best to let them go.

[LOL]
[Looks like they’re a bit strong-headed]
[OMG]
[They keep running away]
[HAHAHAHAHA]
[Just behead them as soon as we see them next time]
[Destroyer Lily, lol]
“Monster Lily LOL”

“If that’s the case, the ones who chose the Angel side won’t be able to take on any requests LOL”

“Hey, Lily”

“For real LOL”

“What about other people’s requests then?”

Krrrrack!

The fifth request board shattered and we quickly moved to the next shrine.

The next white door was quite close, so we arrived in no time, but inside, there was one female Angel waiting.

Since they won’t spill any info without might, and if they get attacked beyond a certain level, they’ll just escape, so I thought I’d just…

“Lady Lily?”

“Uh?”

“???”

“There’s a visitor!”

“Whoa!”

“Lily! I’m a fan!”

“Wow, amazing…”

“Oh, nice to meet you.”

About five users popped out from the shrine and greeted me.

Their strength wasn’t that impressive.

At most, they were around level 60-70, and not a single ranker among them.

They used to be at pretty high levels, but at this point, it’s no exaggeration to say they’re nearly newbie level.

I simply greeted them and lowered my hammer.

“So, what are you all doing here?”

“We’re in the middle of quests?”

“We came here because we heard we could take requests.”

“Exactly. Did Lady Lily come to take on a quest too?”

“……”

The users were holding request papers.

‘F’ grade, somewhat easy requests.

It seemed all five of them had taken the requests, each holding a paper.

“Hahaha!”

“No way, what are you going to do?”

“Let’s take them all!”

“How dare they take requests in front of Lily????”

“Hahahaha!”

“Let’s kill them!”

“Gasp!”

“Crazy guys, they’re just newbies LOL”

“Are we gonna have Lily kill the babies?”

“Hm, Lily… LOL”

“No matter how much Lily is, this is a bit much…”

“What can you do? LOL”

“Hey ‘Shine'”

“You’ve taken the requests, right?”

“Yeah!”

“So, is something wrong?”

“No. Nothing’s wrong. No.”

On the surface, it’s just a quest.

It’s a simple quest format where you get rewards for completing a mission.

At least from the ‘user’ perspective.

“I think it would be better for you to go ahead since I have some business here.”

“Huh? The Angel said she would tell us something later.”

“That’s right. So I thought you should go out and wait…”

“What exactly?”

“Ah, that’s…”

“If you want additional quests, feel free to come back and help us anytime.”

Flap.
Someone is coming down from the highest floor of the shrine.

A woman with a vibe completely different from any celestial I’ve seen so far.

While the power might be similar, the overall atmosphere was bizarre compared to other celestials.

The woman smiled sweetly at the chick-like users before turning to me.

“Nice to meet you. I’m Lily Elbrite.”

“You know me?”

“Of course. Your foolish actions have spread widely across numerous guilds.”

Snicker. The woman laughed.

I instinctively raised my hammer again, but the woman raised a hand, stopping me.

“If you break the shrine now, their quest will be null and void.”

“So what?”

“Hm…? Are you implying you don’t care?”

“Yep.”

The chicks, I mean, the users, looked somewhat shocked at my statement, but I was serious.

I can’t just sit by while I can’t capture celestials and still help them.

It’s better to fail.

“Things can fail as you go along. That’s just how life works, right?”

“They don’t seem to think so.”

“Tough luck.”

[LOL]

[Hahahahaha]

[That’s a bummer lol]

[Ah, I hate the angel’s face]

[Wow]

[Look at the newbies getting shocked]

[It is a bummer lol]

[Where are you in front of da Lily]

Clang! As I raised my hammer, a spear appeared in the woman’s hand.

A long spear radiating pure white holiness.

I could feel some serious power emanating from that spear.

“Well then, it seems I have no choice. I must fight you.”

“But until now, you’ve been running away. You seem pretty confident.”

“Who knows?”

The woman’s spear moved.

Expecting her to attack, I planned to blow away the users behind me, but she was quicker.

Fwoosh!!

“Eek?”

“Ahhh!!!”

“Yikes!!”

A beam of light tore through space and swallowed the users.

It wasn’t an attack.

If it had been an attack, the users would have been burned the moment they touched that light.

I would have reacted faster.

In other words, what that woman did was…

“I sent them to a safe place. They shouldn’t be caught up in the fight, right?”

‘Rescue’.

A rescue from a place that was about to turn chaotic.

“You have a knack for being irritating, don’t you?”

“Too kind of you to say.”
