Chapter 83

I need to find a house.

Since I returned to this cramped little house after 30 years, I thought it would take me quite a long time to make that decision.

After all, finding a house without space issues in a small studio in the city would be quite difficult.

It should have social infrastructure and security, and the house shouldn’t have any inconvenience to live in.

Ideally, I want a view of the city, and there should be decent restaurants nearby, especially for takeout.

…Thinking back, that’s a bit tough.

Anyway, I thought it would take a few years to meet these conditions. But…

“Hmmm…”

In just about a month, I made a tremendous amount of money.

To be precise, while I earned some, the amount collected from those who freely used my videos was beyond imagination.

I don’t really know the current housing prices, but with this amount, it should be sufficient.

Unless, of course, it’s really expensive.

“…Hmm.”

Click.

Click. Click.

Crrrr.

“…Something.”

Before heading to the real estate office, I’m searching for houses online.

Neat and spacious houses.

From those that boast empty space without furniture to those that come with leftover furniture from the previous owner as a bonus.

Everyone is enthusiastically promoting, saying, “This is the house you want!”

“I think they’ve elongated it.”

The houses look excessively long.

Feels like it was shot with overly dramatic editing or angles.

I certainly can’t be sure until I see them in person.

Ding!

A KakaoTalk message popped up in the corner of the monitor.

Yena 9:01 AM

– I’m starting to set a date for the new housewarming, when would be good?

Yena.

She feels like someone I haven’t seen in ages somehow.

“Oh right, we decided to have the housewarming this week.”

Me 9:01 AM

– Ah, I’m looking for a house, so I might need to delay a bit.

Yena 9:02 AM

– A house? Are you moving?

Me 9:02 AM

– Yeah. I’m looking for a house, but it’s not easy.

This place isn’t bad… no, it’s a bit lacking.

I guess I should really visit the real estate office.

WooOOOooOng!

“Yes, Miss Yena.”

– What kind of house are you looking for? Own place? Independence?

“An owned place. I’ve been living alone anyway.”

– Hmm… Do you have any specific options you want?

“First, it would be great if it’s spacious, and the infrastructure is decent…”

– Decent?

Crrrr.

“It should have a view of the city and many restaurants nearby… It needs to be clean and safe…”
“Well, it has to be clean and safe…”

Click.

“…with good ventilation and a comfortable feel… something like that?”

-…that’s quite a lot, isn’t it?

“I just want to live somewhere like that now.”

-?

Since quitting being a Saintess, it had been extremely rare for me to stay in one place.

I either ended up homeless or just took a quick nap at an inn while saving the city.

I roamed the battlefield for far too long.

That’s how I lived.

The reason I could survive was that the blood of the Celestial Race always kept me in top condition.

But that’s not the case anymore.

If the place is uncomfortable, I feel uncomfortable, and if I don’t get enough rest, my body gets tired.

Above all, I really want to live a bit comfortably now.

-Hmm… good infrastructure and nice views…

“Don’t worry too much. If there’s something lacking, I’ll adjust it myself.”

Honestly, these are all just wishes; I’m satisfied as long as it doesn’t interfere with living.

Just like before, I don’t particularly have a desire for wealth or glory.

-If I could see the Han River, would that be better?

“It wouldn’t be bad.”

-If I can see it, that’d be good. Okay.

“But why?”

Why suddenly ask this?

Cough!

-Actually, I know a place that perfectly matches your conditions…

Would you like to see it once?

It all started as a simple content project.

I just wanted to create a few video sources through a newbie training broadcast called Newtube.

But Lilly, who appeared before me, was more than just a video source.

Her character was beyond my imagination, and her clear voice was enchanting.

She effortlessly competed against rankers of the same specification.

She had a cool demeanor but surprisingly felt burdened by accepting help; her kind nature was evident.

She was far too good to just be a ‘guest for one episode’ for Yena.

So I wanted to create any kind of connection with her.

I even intentionally supported her equipment more than usual and even bought an expensive ship from that empire to cross over to the sea.

But in return, what I received was even greater help.

“Sis, our Newtube is soaring again!”

“-Yes- why did the guild rank go up?”

“Hello! This time, -Yes- the guild received unconditional sponsorship…”

“…Ugh.”

So much.

Too much.

I received help that was beyond what I could possibly give back by just sharing information about Deoen or providing broadcasting assistance.

And the more frustrating part is that while she doesn’t want to receive help, she gives help far beyond what she receives.

Such a selfish person.

That’s why I want to get closer.

-Oh, I’m looking for a house right now. It might take a bit longer.
“I’m looking for a house. It might take a little longer.”

– “Yeah. It’s not easy to find a place.”

“Searching for a house. Not easy to find one.”

‘…Is this a rank?’

I quickly made the call.

To be honest, Lady Lily doesn’t seem modern at all.

She shows an extraordinary understanding in gameplay or specific areas, but when it comes to the Deoen system, she knows less than a newbie.

No matter how much of a newbie you are, there’s no one who doesn’t know about Deoen, which has spread all over the world.

She really seems like someone from another planet.

And that makes me want to take care of her even more.

“Spacious, good infrastructure, great view, good ventilation…”

The more conditions I list, the more it all boils down to one thing.

No matter how much I think about it, there’s only one place.

Yena continued the conversation while spinning around in her chair.

A comfortable atmosphere highlighted by expansive glass. And the Han River visible beyond that.

However, if things turn out this way…

“I’m honestly curious…”

Cough!

“I just happen to know a place that fits the criteria perfectly…”

“Not bad.”

– “Right? It’s definitely expensive, but there are a lot of facilities around, and it’s a pricey neighborhood, so it’s not noisy.”

The place Yena showed me was an apartment complex in Seoul.

The interior goes without saying, and the nearby facilities and landscaping within the complex really appealed to me.

It was exactly the place that met all the conditions I mentioned.

Sure, everything’s good, but…

– “It’s a bit. No, it’s super expensive. The Han River view makes it even pricier.”

“How much… to me?”

– “First, the actual transaction price is around 700 million won…”

“700 million won?”

700 million won?

No, is this some kind of Monopoly game?

– “…This is already a reduced price. Deoen became such a hit that people are looking for it more than expensive houses in reality.”

As virtual reality develops, people seek out virtual experiences more than reality.

In reality, many people have already amassed wealth, but virtual reality is still relatively new, having only been around for about three years.

“Still, 700 million is a bit… excessive.”

– “It’s not an easy decision to make.”

700 million.

It’s not like I’ve never touched that kind of money before.

As a saint, I’ve received quite the rewards, and there was a time when the massive city got destroyed, and I tried to manage it temporarily as there was no one to lead.

I quickly handed it over to the rightful person and left again, but I still remember the amount it took to run that city.
I handed it over and left again, but I still remember the amount that moves the city.

“That’s burdensome.”

It’s definitely a hefty sum to hold on to.

– “If it’s too much pressure, you can look elsewhere…”

“No, I’ll take a look.”

So I should spend it quickly, huh?

– “…Are you perhaps going to take a loan? Right?”

“No, I made a lot of money this time and I’m trying to find a place.”

– “…You didn’t earn 700 million in a month, did you?”

“Um… I guess so?”

I didn’t expect to earn like this either.

Just how much did they sell me for?

“Such remarkable people.”

The next day, I met the house owner through Yena’s introduction.

The house owner was an older lady who smiled warmly upon seeing me.

“Oh my! Hello! You’re quite a beauty~ Are you from abroad?”

“No, I’m…”

How do I say this?

“…I’m mixed. I lived in Korea.”

“A~ I see, that’s why you look a bit exotic. Take a look around. You’ll love it here.”

“Yes.”

As I stepped into the open living room, an impressive space designed with a modern touch caught my eye first.

A long black leather couch and a slim TV positioned across from it.

Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, a refreshing view of the Han River unfolded before me.

Just looking at it made me feel at ease.

Moreover, there are more than six rooms, including a small room for clothes, and the apartment’s system, like automatic garbage disposal and delivery food coming from above, was quite impressive.

After about 30 minutes of deliberation, I decided to sign the contract.

I heard I should check out other homes too, but honestly, I don’t think there’ll be a better place than this.

I’ve already grown too fond of it.

“You made a good choice. A lot of young people live here, so it’s great. You know, virtual reality is all the rage these days? Many friends who earn money from there come here.”

“I see.”

“You won’t regret it. The agent has been living here for years.”

So, it’s a good enough place to have the agent living here… Uh…?

“But the agent?”

“You came through Yena, right? Yena lives here.”

“…What?”

Yena lives here?
