Chapter 72

A clarification broadcast that isn’t exactly a clarification.

This broadcast takes on a different form compared to the usual clarification streams found in the personal broadcasting industry.

The intended goal has been sufficiently achieved. I’ve said everything I needed to say, and I’ve successfully turned the almost hostile public opinion back around.

Yet, I still see a few comments cursing me here and there. Occasionally, someone tosses a furious 1000-won donation during the stream.

But those are just dying sparks. They’ve lost their former fire, and soon enough, it’ll feel as if nothing ever happened.

Thus, I’ve continued to broadcast without much worry. When occasionally faced with nasty donations or comments, my viewers swoop in to take them down, and after the broadcast, I receive tips to ban the offenders, and that’s how the show goes on.

There haven’t been any issues. The only side effect seems to be that a new meme has settled into my chat.

[Bullying Behavior ㄷㄷㄷ]
[The Real Kayak]
[The Unofficial Ruler of the Classroom]
[In-Ssa Kayak]
[Oh, the Teacher is a Trendsetter….]

“Why does everyone call me a bully just for doing something? I’m not a bully!”

I was currently running the content where I read through my school record, which I mentioned in my last clarification broadcast.

I was reading comments written by the teacher by grade level while ensuring my personal information stayed hidden, but people just kept calling me a bully.

This had been the constant chatter since the last stream. It felt a bit unjust that they repeatedly labeled me a bully when it didn’t seem sincere at all.

I might have been bullied, but I’m not the type to bully others!

“5th grade. Good relationships with peers and excellent leadership skills. Has the ability to manage others but still lacks some maturity, leading to conflicts with friends. How is this bullying?”

[Conflicts with Friends ㄷㄷㄷ]
[Leadership Skills ㄷㄷㄷ]
[Truly a Kayak, born to stand out from the start]
[How on earth did you manage your friends?]
[The Kayak Team is indeed the Kayak Team… The reason they won was because they had such an outstanding leader like Kayak.]

But as we delved into my high school records, I suddenly found myself with less and less to say.

– Expresses opinions clearly. Distinguishes between likes and dislikes, but shows a lack of adherence to rules. Additionally, lacks proper habits leading to frequent tardiness and absences, and appears to have little enthusiasm for school life and academics.

Honestly, this was the first time I was seeing my own records. When would anyone ever read their own school record in life? Therefore, I never expected my homeroom teacher had planted hidden landmines in there.
This is my first time looking at my own school record. When would a person get to read their own school record in life? Because of that, I never thought my homeroom teacher would lay such mines.

Seeing this evaluation made me remember. The time was my second year of high school. I was in the midst of my turbulent adolescence.

“Uh, um… so, this is it.”

[You’ve packed it tight like a mountain of rice, lol]
[More painful than a 1000 won punch, lol…]
[16 unexcused absences and 13 tardies? What kind of life have you been living, teacher…]
[Working hard like a kayaker]
[Oh, lol, what school? I had to vibe in the abyss at home]
[Busy making galleries and playing games, no wonder I was sleepy]
[Kayaker caught in the charms of a game, this can’t be stopped…]
[Huh? I was told I was a good student back in middle school]
[Streamer roots have been laid since lunch time]
[The importance of early education, whoa]
[Looking at the school record of the delinquent girl who bleached her hair and slept in the back seat, it all makes sense now]
[These kinds of kids are surprisingly nice]
[For real, if you don’t mess with them, they’re the kind-hearted type, lol]

In fact, I had been in the abyss since my twenties, and as a student, I was just really a sleep junkie, but now that I’ve become Mun Ah and am younger, I suddenly had an excuse for neglecting school life due to being in the abyss.

“I was really lost back then, yeah… I skipped school often and just kept playing the abyss. There’s no excuse. But! I really just slept at school. I wasn’t a trash person who bullied other friends.”

[Our beloved Nizigen now sponsors 1000 won!]
-Did your desk buddy tell you the lunch menu today?

“Yeah, there were always one or two friends in class who memorized the menu by day. Thanks to them, I conveniently ate lunch only when the tasty menu was out… But why am I the delinquent? I didn’t tell them to memorize it. They memorized it first and then told everyone in class!”

Suddenly, I became no different from a shameless person who made my classmates memorize the lunch menu. I was an angelic senior in the army who never made my juniors memorize drills, so how did I end up in this situation?

Of course, this was just a half-joking banter. On the flip side, that meant half of it was serious, but still, I think it’s way better now than it was during the old broadcast atmosphere.

Back when everything revolved around breasts, that’s all we talked about. Should I say it started and ended with breasts? Sometimes there’d even be comments about how good my voice was.
Should I say it ends with the chest? Sometimes people say my voice is really nice too.

I wasn’t particularly feeling bad, but I wasn’t feeling good either. I didn’t even know how to react.

In contrast, after the recent clarification broadcast, the chats that had that broth-like scent (borrowing the community’s expression) have decreased. It seems to be due to the new people who flowed in after that broadcast, but I personally preferred the current atmosphere much more.

It feels like I’ve gone from being a female streamer with a big chest, a nice voice, and gaming skills to just being really good at games while secretly being a bit of a bully, but still having a big chest.

Some might ask what’s the difference, but the fact that the focus of the broadcast has shifted from breasts to games is quite an encouraging thing. At least I could feel that subtle difference while keeping an eye on the chat all day.

At this point, I started to think that the controversy wasn’t such a bad thing after all. A crisis is a chance, and what burned in the community turned into a new turning point for my broadcast.

It was around the time I finished the content of reading the student records and was chatting with the viewers.

“It’s a bit disappointing to end the broadcast, should we do a round of Abyss? I happen to have a new build I’m researching…”

[Tranchay has donated 1000 won!]

“Have you heard about the teacher’s meeting?”

“A meeting? Has it already been that time?”

It was unexpected news that was somewhat interesting.

*

Abyss User Meeting.

This is a communication time with users that occurs once or twice a year during major patches or important announcements.

Decisions about the future direction of the game or new heroes being revealed. If you’re a serious Abyss user, it’s content you must watch.

Saturday at 5 PM. That was the scheduled time for the meeting. Streamers who primarily broadcast Abyss prepared ahead of time to watch the meeting with their viewers before it started.

Kayak was the same. When you think of Abyss, you think of Kayak; when you think of Kayak, you think of Abyss. It was a familiar name for old-school users, but now even new users flowing in mostly knew her name.

Whether liked or disliked, her name had spread widely among personal broadcasters and Abyss users, and as a result, more than 10,000 viewers gathered for Kayak’s stream waiting for the meeting.
It spread widely among the enjoying users, and as a result, the broadcast of Kayak, who was waiting for the meeting, attracted a little over 10,000 viewers.

[Is this the waiting room for the meeting?]

[As expected from a famous restaurant, there are so many people….]

[Why are there so many people? LOL]

[My little Kayak has… grown way too big]

[Can’t resist watching the meeting with the teacher]

[From reading patch notes to now having a meeting]

[I’m curious what the top-tier users will say]

[This used to be content about soup back in the day]

[Back in the trash game days, if I yelled at the management, the teacher would get super mad]

[There was no mic back then, so I got kicked for cursing in the public chat]

[For real, LOL nostalgia]

“Ah, can you hear me? Gentlemen and ladies who came to the meeting, please take your seats. The meeting will start shortly.”

For the users, the meeting was bound to be exciting. What changes could there possibly be this time? Would it be a god patch or a trash patch that people would complain about all season long?

It felt like participating in a lottery with both losing and winning tickets, heart-pounding with excitement and tension. The users’ feelings were clearly reflected in the chat, and the streamer, Kayak, seemed to be feeling nostalgic in many ways.

“Wow, now when they say there’s a meeting, tens of thousands of people are watching… back in the day, having a thousand viewers was a lot.”

[Oh no… oh no… so emotional ㅠㅠ]

[That moment when Kayak was running all over the place]

[It’s a miracle the game didn’t go under, for real]

[So glad it’s doing well]

[Teacher, is there anything you’re looking forward to in this meeting?]

“Me? I don’t know… I don’t really need a Camilla buff. I feel like if too many people start playing, something else might get nerfed. I’d just like a skin or something. Camilla’s a pretty solid hero, but she has way fewer skins compared to others.”

While they were sharing such stories, the meeting finally began.

-…So, the rank system will be revamped this way. Next, we have a new skin announcement. A new mythic skin will be released. The design team put a lot of effort into this. It looks beautiful. Introducing: Snowflake Queen Camilla!

“Hieeeek…!”

A gasp was heard. Then, loud banging on the desk.

For a while, only those sounds echoed in Kayak’s broadcast.
