– The Return of the King, Kayak Solo Ranked Madness Movie
– Late Night Drinking Talk
– Tournament Highlight Cuts (Semifinals and Finals)
…
– Handcam Reaction Compilation
“Wow, they really made a lot….”
The videos sent in, claiming to apply as an editor, were quite substantial in number. It was easily over five, if I had to guess.
Since no specific storage or format was set, it was quite unregulated. Usually, there are time limits like “please make a 10-minute rambling video” along with a theme, but I must have been short-sighted.
Well, it doesn’t really matter. After all, since I’m not broadcasting at the moment, it’s pretty much a break for me. I can just slowly enjoy them one by one like earlier.
“Hmm….”
To get to the point, the editing style of the videos wasn’t completely the same as before. There was a hint of nostalgia, yet it felt oddly different.
That’s expected, though. Just how much time has passed since this person made my highlights as a product of their fan enthusiasm back then?
There’s been enough time for one’s editing style to change. Just like I’ve changed, this person must have changed too.
To cut back on my rambling, if I were to evaluate whether this person’s editing style is good or bad, I’d say…
“It’s good.”
Without needing to ponder, it was good. It felt like it had evolved in many ways compared to the past.
I specifically searched through several Vtube videos to select a good editor. I made sure to catch every Vtube from streamers focusing primarily on Abyss. One could say it was some sort of investigative work.
In my judgment, these videos are what you’d call big leagues. They seemed not at all lacking in comparison to the walking dinosaurs of the Vtube world.
While nothing significant was lacking, there was one baffling part.
“What’s this…?”
The video title: Handcam Reaction Compilation.
Why on earth did they put grand background music and go all out on editing a video where reactions were recorded with a handcam?
The screen transitions and sparkly effects made it feel like I was watching a highlight reel. One might think Kamilla scored a 1v6 ace or something.
I found it all quite perplexing, but they say talented individuals often have a bit of quirkiness, so I decided to let it slide. Maybe they just wanted to ignite their own artistic flame.
“Of all the people I’ve seen so far, this one’s the best.”
“Pretty great.”
To be honest, I felt happy to see this person because we had an old connection, but I tried to keep my evaluation as fair as possible. Vtube is a serious matter that shouldn’t be taken lightly.
“Let’s see, the nickname is….”
Shiasia. I wrote that name on the editor candidate list and drew three asterisks next to it.
That means they are a strong candidate. If no one else coming up is more appealing than this person, I’ll hire them as my editor.
Looks like there are about three people left. I’m not really expecting much. And why would I? I just met an amazing candidate.
A hero on a white horse isn’t someone you can easily find. It’s bizarre enough that someone with the skills of Shiasia applied to be my editor; surely there can’t be another applicant I’d like as much.
“Huh…?”
I thought so for sure.
But there was. Another editing genius.

“…So that’s why I started it. Simple, right?”
[You want us to choose?]
[After a long time, and that’s what you say….]
[I thought you were just trying to attract attention, but you’re actually picking an editor?]
[Why haven’t you done it all this time?]
[If you show us that mammoth thing…]
[A kayak with a grand heart ㄷㄷ]
[A genius who makes the boss mad shows up]
[Lmao ㅋㅋㅋㅋ]
[Just everyone get out.]
[Why didn’t you turn it on? Probably wouldn’t want to because of this.]
[Ugh, sexual harassment is seriously…]
[Older sister, if you give me that knife, I’ll cut everything.]
[Let’s pick a sword first; managing the chat seems more urgent.]
[I’ll admit it if there’s any man-hate.]
“This is never-ending. Didn’t I tell you not to sexually harass me?”
I banned the sexual harassment chats again, which have decreased since I started the broadcast. It seems like they’ve calmed down a bit since I’m constantly cracking down on them. But seeing chats like that still pop up makes me think there’s a long way to go.
Anyway, that’s not the important thing right now.
“You really need to choose carefully. You all kept asking for a Vtube, so this is what happens. If you keep talking about breasts instead of focusing, I won’t create the channel, got it?”
[Don’t make it! ㅋㅋ It’s you who will lose.]
[We lose too, idiot.]
[I can’t watch Twishi’s replays; they keep getting bugs.]
[Pick an editor and post highlights and full versions both.]
[‘Do it’]
“I can’t believe it’s the day when Kayak, who was trembling during her first broadcast, is now saying she’ll pick an editor… What a nostalgic feeling!”
“Kayak was never a Hako, though, what’s up with that? lol”
“Aren’t you talking about her first stream? That was seriously like a 30-person raid back then.”
“Okay, old folks, time to step out.”
“Are you indecisive? Just pick someone already, what’s all the fuss about?”
“Pretty face, big chest, nice hands, and she’s good at Abyss, so I’ll let it slide, sure.”
“How do you even know what her face looks like? lol”
“Just knowing when you see, you know… Kayak is the top beauty in the region.”
“The fans are gross, ugh.”
Due to the competition and some minor incidents that happened at the event, more people have shown up.
Looking at the rapidly skyrocketing chat makes me slightly dizzy. It’s not that I can’t read the chat. In fact, the content is so clear; that’s the problem.
They say seasoned pro streamers hardly care about the chat, and I see there’s a reason for that.
I clearly need to learn this skill quickly. I can’t let myself be swayed by the nonsense chatter about chests and such every time.
[Kayak's Loyal Follower #1 donated 10,000 won!]
“Shouldn’t the broadcast host just choose without taking viewer opinions? What do they know?”
“I’m not going to take everything at 100% either. I’m just using it as a reference. Ultimately, the final decision is mine.”
My broadcast needs to be led by me. This is similar to not letting viewer chats dictate my decisions, especially for such important matters.
It’s just a means of communication. I might as well use it as content for the show.
“Thanks to many people who applied for the editor position at KayakTube. I’ve carefully selected two candidates. Please watch their videos and choose one of them.”
“Let the battle royale begin! lol”
“1,000 to 1 competition…”
“KayakTube’s naming sense is killing me.”
“Show us already!”
“Okay, first up is candidate number one. You’ve probably seen this video before. This person made highlights during the recent competition and even applied, so I wonder if they’re still active.”
The video of Shiasia starts playing. Not too many clips, just three. A short highlight, a handcam video, and a clip of them drinking and rambling.
“Did Paddak just pull this again? lol”
“Another one, haha!”
“Stop being so gay…”
“As a true fan, you really put in some effort this time!”
“But hey, the editing is pretty good?”
“While Kayak was away, did you engage in some serious training?;”
“This style looks familiar.”
“Must be the latest trend, for sure.”
Having received a variety of positive reviews, I immediately began to play the next candidate’s video.
“This person is also quite famous. According to their application, they run a fan tube…”
“Fan tube entrance! Haha!”
“This person seems to be quite something too.”
“Was there a fan tube?”
“For a fan tube, they upload super diligently—sometimes even twice a day!”
“What’s up with the subscriber count;”
“Kayak at noon. A fan tube with a rather radio-like name.”
This isn’t my absolute early broadcast, but a channel that diligently edits and uploads every broadcast since transforming into a woman.
Typically, they mainly edit and upload short clips of 1 to 3 minutes, but this time they also sent me a roughly 10-minute edited video of the Abyss, perhaps wanting to show off their skills.
“Oh….”
“I think this person is better!”
“Doesn’t it seem a bit awkward?”
“It’s an old editing style, but I prefer this one.”
“That’s self-reliance, right? Haha!”
“They’re both good, though! For real.”
“It’s crazy that people like this aren’t working for big corporations and are opting to be a Hako broadcast editor.”
“Well… Kayak is just a game-loving chubby cutie, right…”
“When else would we get to work with a boss like this? Ah, haha.”
“Kayak just started, so they might not be able to contribute much, haha;”
There were also good reviews about this. When compared to the video of Shiasia earlier, the responses weren’t significantly worse.
Having watched both videos, I now had only one thing left to do.
“Alright, let’s have a vote. No pressure; just vote for the video you liked best.”

“Can’t we vote for the broadcast host?”
After about 10 minutes of voting, with around 3,000 participants, the results were…
“Wait, is this how it turns out?”
50:50.
A perfect tie.
