Chapter 509. Qian Qian’s Troubles
“I’ve already taken attendance for you.”
After finishing afternoon tea, the Little Demoness wearily leaned her head against Wen Yang’s chest, curled up naked in his embrace, breathing lightly.
She finally relaxed upon receiving a message from Qian Qian. Although skipping one or two classes wasn’t a big deal, having someone else take attendance really put her mind at ease.
Wen Yang, with his solid arms wrapped around the soft Ning Chu, curiously asked, “When did your parents get divorced? And how come they’re already getting remarried?”
“I didn’t tell you? They got divorced around last October. I found out about it later.”
Ning Chu’s face still held a hint of charming allure, her skin glowing with a flirtatious blush, but her eyes reflected some worry: “My mom isn’t going to have another brother or sister for me, is she…?”
“That’s not likely, right?”
“Who knows~ If it’s delayed, our kids might end up calling a baby younger than them ‘uncle’~”
Wen Yang’s eyes lit up: “Our kids? Didn’t you say you didn’t want to have kids?”
Ning Chu froze for a moment, nodding her head rapidly: “Right! I don’t want to have kids! I hate little brats!”
“And it’s so painful! I even looked it up; it’s said to do significant harm to the body! They say you might even have trouble holding your pee, super scary!”
“Why did you look this up if you don’t want to have kids?”
She was momentarily stumped, unable to come up with a good explanation, and in frustration, pinched Wen Yang’s love handles: “I can look it up if I want! What’s it to you?”
Wen Yang hurriedly raised his hands in surrender: “I won’t ask, I won’t ask.”
“Gee~”
But honestly, as her time as a woman increased, it seemed Ning Chu’s aversion to childbirth was gradually decreasing.
She was beginning to become overly maternal, instinctively glancing twice at other people’s kids, and even little kittens and puppies were more endearing to her than before.
It must be a hormonal thing! Not her subjective reasoning.
After a bit of playful banter, Ning Chu leaned back against Wen Yang’s embrace again, mumbling with concern: “Wen Yang, what if I can’t find a job after I go to Shanghai with you?”
“How could you not?”
“I heard that big companies only want graduates from 985 and 211 universities these days.”
“Just don’t set your sights too high, it should be easy to find something. Why not try doing copywriting? You’ve written novels for a few years, right? You could write story backgrounds for game companies or something?”
Mentioning this made Ning Chu feel guilty. Her little achievements in writing novels could hardly be shown off; she didn’t even dare mention the titles during interviews.
She shook her head: “Forget it… let’s just see.”
Ning Chu was already looking for jobs in Shanghai on her phone, mumbling, “You rent a place first, and when my mom gets married, I’ll just move in with my bags.”
“Okay.”
“That means we probably won’t see each other for more than ten days~” Her worries deepened.
Without a man’s affection for those ten days, lacking the fresh air, not only would her spirits be low, but the random emotional fluctuations might also return.
She had no idea if she could endure it.
“Maybe I should go later? Discuss it with the company.” Wen Yang seemed worried about this too.
“Yeah, maybe try that… I’m a bit hungry~”
He unapologetically pushed the Little Demoness down onto the bed.
Ning Chu was startled and pushed against Wen Yang’s chest with her feet, hastily adding: “I mean I’m hungry in my stomach!”
It wasn’t even five in the afternoon! She didn’t want to wreck her CPU and fall asleep until the evening—what then? Would she even be able to sleep at night?!
If it were nighttime, it wouldn’t matter; she might as well get a good sleep.
Wen Yang regretfully nodded: “Then I’ll go downstairs to buy you something.”
“Also buy a cup of milk tea, iced with a third of the sugar.”
“You just had some this afternoon, didn’t you?” He got up from the bed, reminded her while putting on his clothes, “Drink less milk tea; it’s easy to gain weight.”
“I had it with a third of the sugar! And it doesn’t make me gain weight, okay!”
Although she had always cared about her little belly and soft thighs, Ning Chu hadn’t seen much change over the years. In fact, due to her long-standing yoga elective classes, she looked a bit more toned.
At the same time, her flexibility had greatly improved, no longer leaving her with painful ligaments after strenuous activities.
Hiding under the covers, watching Wen Yang get dressed and leave, Ning Chu stretched lazily, planning to head to the bathroom for a quick shower.
“Brother Wen Yang~ You two skipped class and snuck back! I even helped sister Ning Chu take attendance!”
Qian Qian’s voice came from the hallway.
“Just had a little something to deal with.”
“Eh~ What could you two possibly be dealing with~”
Having known each other for so long, Qian Qian was no longer that naive girl she used to be, her tone laced with teasing and mockery towards Wen Yang.
“Not talking about it, I’m going downstairs to buy food.”
“Is sister Ning Chu free right now? I want to play with her~”
“Can you wait a bit?”
Hearing the commotion in the hallway, Ning Chu, who was already one foot in the bathroom, hurriedly retracted her foot, rushed to tidy up the messy bedding, hid the stains on the sheets, and flipped the trash can to hide Wen Yang’s… stuff and tissues underneath.
Even though Qian Qian had likely guessed what she had been doing before, she still had to feign modesty to avoid excessive embarrassment.
Having cleaned up the remnants of their previous activities, Ning Chu returned to the bathroom to wash away the stickiness from her body.
Just after rinsing off and wrapping herself in a towel, someone knocked on the door.
“Sister Ning Chu~”
“Coming, coming.”
Ning Chu, barefoot, rushed to open the door. As soon as she opened it, Qian Qian eagerly peeked her head inside, her nose twitching.
“I smell something weird~”
“Are you asking for a slap, huh?!” She slapped Qian Qian on the back of her head and turned to sit at her desk, “What do you want?”
“I have something to ask your advice on~”
Qian Qian wasn’t deterred by the pain; she smiled and entered the room, standing behind Ning Chu. She sweetly massaged her shoulders and asked, “Do you think I should start dating?”
“Well, that’s up to you?” Ning Chu was taken aback for a moment, then realized, teasingly looked up and laughed, “Oh? You have someone you like? I hadn’t heard about this!”
Qian Qian’s face flushed with a hint of embarrassment as she lowered her head: “A sophomore… I met him while playing basketball with Xin Ya.”
“Is he handsome?”
“Not bad~”
Ning Chu’s lips curled up mischievously: “How old is he?”
Qian Qian had clearly been influenced by this group, even without practical experience, her theoretical knowledge was spot on.
She immediately understood the implications of the Little Demoness’s question, her face turning even redder, yet her tone was filled with excitement: “I used magic to check! At least eighteen!”
I guess that’s just average?
Compared to their male lead, most guys were pretty average…
But Ning Chu was worried as she looked at Qian Qian’s petite frame just over 1.5 meters tall: “Can you handle it?”
“Hey! We haven’t even made any progress yet! Why are we talking about this?”
“Girl chasing guy is like a layer of gauze; if you want to chase him, it won’t be hard!”
She was particularly interested in such matters and wanted to get involved: “Why not invite him out for a character assessment? And let’s have Shao Qing check if he has any dark history?”
“That could work, I guess?”
