Chapter 502. Young Grandma
Usually, Grandpa is the one who cooks, but in reality, Grandma’s cooking skills are even better.
Today, it’s rare for Ning Chu to bring her little boyfriend over, so Grandma hurriedly bought some groceries and rushed into the kitchen as soon as she got home.
“Ning Chu and Wen Yang, where are they?”
While busy, Grandma turned to her youngest daughter and asked.
Mom was helping on the side, with a teasing smile, saying, “They’re upstairs; Wen Yang hasn’t been sleeping well these days and is catching up on some rest.”
“Ning Chu went with him… oh~”
Grandma only got halfway through her sentence when she suddenly wore the same smile as Mom.
The two succubi exchanged a knowing glance and sighed, “Being young is such a good thing~”
Ning Chu had just come downstairs, intending to find her mother in the kitchen, when she overheard their sentiments. She paused in surprise and rushed into the room to defend her reputation: “What nonsense are you talking about! I just took him upstairs!”
Grandma and Mom turned to look at her simultaneously, their gazes sliding down from her still blushing peach-like face to the white shirt that she had hurriedly buttoned wrong.
That disheveled appearance made Ning Chu’s defense utterly weak.
Following their gaze, she looked down and hurriedly fumbled to button her shirt properly, muttering a bit shyly, “I really didn’t…”
Really didn’t do anything!
It had only been half an hour going up and down, how could Wen Yang be done so quickly?
Furthermore, with Wen Yang drunk, he had no capability to run around; she only realized this after her silver hair had flushed red, leaving her in an awkward situation.
Why must he act like a rogue before bed? Now she’s misunderstood—she’d remember this debt!
After going home tonight, she’d have to stir up trouble with Wen Yang and then just go to sleep!
“Got it, got it.” Grandma chuckled and went back to stir-frying, jokingly saying to her daughter, “Young folks are so easily shy~ Just a few words and their faces are all red~”
“Yeah~” Mom nodded with a smile, “And it’s only been half an hour; that’s not right.”
“Look at Wen Yang; he seems quite sturdy and should be well-fed.”
“……”
The room was filled with succubi, and these two women chatted openly.
Grandma spoke about such matters as casually as eating and drinking, as if they were just sharing everyday gossip, while Mom wore an excited expression teasing Ning Chu.
Only Ning Chu turned red from the teasing, too embarrassed to lift her head. In desperation, she could only report Grandpa’s actions: “Wen Yang’s completely drunk!”
Grandma paused: “Your grandpa drank with him?”
“He kept pouring it down his throat! I was only taking care of him!”
Her expression darkened, and she said angrily, “What’s the point of drinking during the day? You’ll end up in the hospital!”
“Exactly!”
“Ning Chu, want to try some? Fried ribbonfish, your favorite from when you were little.”
Clearing the “resentment,” Grandma changed the subject.
“Eat!”
“Just fried, be careful; it’s hot.”
Grandma took a small bowl, filled it with two pieces of golden-fried goodness, and handed it to Ning Chu, sighing, “Last year when I saw you, you were still such a little boy. This year you even brought home a boyfriend.”
Can you not mention that?!
This was basically Ning Chu’s soft spot; her hand trembled, almost dropping the bowl.
“When I heard about this, I was worried you wouldn’t be able to handle it, so I urgently took Grandpa to find you.”
Grandma repeatedly reminded Ning Chu just how quickly her ‘feminine descent’ was happening, making the fried ribbonfish in her mouth take on a bitter taste.
“I don’t even know when I’ll get to see my great-grandchild~”
“Mom, Ning Chu’s only in her first year of college.”
“Well, yes, these years will be a good time to assess Wen Yang. I hope he’s not all show and no substance.”
Ning Chu left the kitchen, holding her small bowl, feeling utterly defeated.
In the hall, Grandpa was sitting in a recliner, casually watching a local dialect program, munching on seeds, and showing no signs of having drunk a lot just moments ago.
Apparently, Grandpa used to be in business and had a good capacity for alcohol, so it was normal for him.
“Grandpa, care for a bite?”
Ning Chu picked a piece of untouched ribbonfish from her bowl.
Grandpa shook his head and waved her over: “Come here, sit by me.”
“What’s up?”
She ran over and sat down on a little stool next to him.
Grandpa peeked toward the kitchen like a thief and then pulled out a bulging wallet from his pocket, counting out some bills and just stuffed them into Ning Chu’s coat pocket without hesitation.
“This…?”
Ning Chu awkwardly touched the money in her pocket.
She’d been through this scene many times since she was little; back then, when Mom took care of her and her brother alone, they had no money and wouldn’t ask Grandpa for help. So every time they came here, Grandpa would stuff their pockets with cash.
“Take it; look at you, so thin. Eat more when you’re out.”
“I’m not that thin, am I?”
“You’ll look prettier with a bit of meat. Just look at how beautiful Grandma was when she was young.”
Ning Chu immediately became interested: “Do you have photos?”
Once photos were mentioned, Grandpa happily pulled out his phone, rummaging through deep in the albums, and revealed a password-protected picture.
He proudly pointed at the phone screen: “See? Your Grandma was a famous beauty in the area. When we got married, countless men were probably cursing me.”
These were old photos Grandpa had taken, so they were somewhat blurry and faded.
Ning Chu leaned over for a look and let out a surprised gasp: “Wow~”
Actually, Grandma wasn’t necessarily prettier than she was now; without makeup, she might be on par with Lily, but her plump figure was indeed striking.
She had a much larger bust than Grandma now.
Her current figure was fairly slim because her ribcage was so narrow that even with a C cup, it didn’t appear that big.
Grandpa was quite pleased with her astonished reaction: “Right? Eat more; you’re so skinny, no meat at all. I don’t know what modern girls are thinking.”
Ning Chu nodded repeatedly, “Yes, yes, yes.”
Although she secretly thought being slimmer looked better.
Besides, she wasn’t as skinny as Grandpa claimed; she had struggled with her little belly and soft thighs for a long time.
Ning Chu, feeling quite curious, asked: “If Grandma was so beautiful, how did you win her over?”
“Look closely at me; what do you think?”
“Um…” She assessed Grandpa from top to bottom, hesitating on how to respond.
“I had a good image! Grandma pursued me, get it?”
However, just then Grandma came in carrying two plates of food and, upon hearing this, immediately broke the narrative: “Don’t listen to him.”
“Grandma?” Ning Chu swiftly turned to Grandma, her face full of anticipation.
Could there be a twisty love story waiting?
She was ready to concoct a dramatic romance in her mind.
“He had money back then.” Grandma rolled her eyes, “We got married less than a month after the blind date.”
Ning Chu was left dumbfounded, all her ideas of a heartwarming love story turning to dust.
But this matched the backdrop of that era’s parental matchmaking in marriage perfectly.
