“What are you guys doing?”
Ning Chu looked at the three girls squatting in a circle on the ground, suddenly unsure of the situation.

As the initial curiosity about the octopus fizzled out, the girls dispersed to do their own things.
Lily placed the cup with the octopus on a shelf as a decoration and then turned to Ning Chu, her big eyes shining with confusion and realization.
They said not to go out at night because of the tentacle monsters, and yet here she was, running out herself.

“I’m kind of in a hurry…” Ning Chu sat down next to Lily, thinking back to how she had told Lily about the tentacle monster earlier, and then leaned close to whisper, “There’s a tentacle monster in the school, and I really suspect it’s the one in the cup.”
Lily looked up at the little octopus: “You bought it yourself.”
“No, I’m serious!”
She looked disdainfully at Ning Chu and even grabbed the cup, shoving it into a drawer: “Mine.”
“I wasn’t fighting you for it…”
