Chapter 415. The Strange Competitive Spirit 5/12
I have to say, Wen Yang’s learning ability is impressive.
While following along with the tutorial playing on the computer, he managed to style Ning Chu’s hair into a bun that looked almost identical to the one in the video in no time.
Unfortunately, the little horns ended up sticking out on both sides…
“Do I need to do two more buns on the sides? It looks kinda off?” Ning Chu examined herself in the mirror, gazing at the two little horns awkwardly protruding from her head. “I thought it was supposed to be like an ancient hairstyle~”
“Well, your hair is a bit too short, and you don’t have enough volume.”
Even though she only got simple trims at the hair salon during this time, Ning Chu’s hair still barely reached her shoulders after half a year.
That was actually pretty fast growth.
She sighed in distress: “It looks so strange, not pretty at all.”
Those little horns that hadn’t fully formed looked odd and very noticeable.
Maybe they could just keep playing the role and complete the rest of the sister plot in one day; who knows, by tomorrow her horns might be fully developed like a ram’s…
If worst comes to worst, they could go through all the untriggered plotlines again!
But the little demoness might not survive that many transformations! If she kept going, the male lead might need to take a breather.
She had already played the older sister yesterday, and it felt like her whole body was about to fall apart.
“Should we just wear a hat?” Ning Chu mumbled, putting on a baseball cap.
The cap was propped up a bit by the horns, barely fitting and wobbling on her head like it could fall off any moment.
“That kind of knit hat might be a better fit?” Wen Yang suggested. “You can wear it loosely, so it won’t stick to your head, plus it won’t be easy to lose and keeps you warm.”
“But we don’t have any at home~ A coat’s hood should work too, right?”
“We do! I restocked yesterday.”
Wen Yang got up and opened his suitcase, which was packed full of what he bought yesterday. After rummaging for a moment, he pulled out a white knit hat adorned with a fluffy pom-pom.
“Try this on?”
“Hmm…”
Ning Chu put the hat on and continued to analyze herself in the mirror.
She looked quite a bit better; if you didn’t look closely, you wouldn’t notice the slight bumps on either side of the hat.
However, the horns were quite sensitive—covered by the hat, they transmitted the sensation of being wrapped.
Who knows why demon horns have nerve endings… In theory, horns are similar to nails in composition and shouldn’t feel any pain.
This is what being a demoness is like~
Just after having lunch, her body had already recovered quite a bit over a couple of hours; at least she wasn’t limping anymore.
For an ordinary girl, she would’ve been completely wiped out after last night.
On the weekend, though, Ning Chu had no intention of going out to play with Wen Yang. On one hand, she wasn’t feeling well, and on the other, her horns made her too self-conscious to step outside.
Wearing the hat, she obediently sat at her desk and typed away.
“By the way, you can choose your elective courses on the school website,” Wen Yang reminded her. “Are you still planning to sign up for yoga?”
“Yeah, yoga sounds good.”
Otherwise, if Wen Yang got too enthusiastic, she would probably end up with a ligament injury.
Plus, she was oblivious to her own pain, interpreting it as joy instead.
Better to practice yoga and increase her flexibility, so Wen Yang wouldn’t accidentally hurt her with his enthusiasm.
And maybe unlock some new poses~
“I already bought a yoga outfit; it should have arrived by now.” Ning Chu opened the school website, then stared blankly at the login page. “What was my password again?”
It had been so long since she logged into the school’s website that she completely forgot her password.
“Try your usual passwords first?” Wen Yang got up from the sofa and leaned over her desk to check on her progress.
“I’ve tried those already…”
Ning Chu frowned in frustration as she repeatedly tried the passwords she might have set.
Wen Yang chimed in with suggestions: “Birthday? Phone number? Name?”
“Nope…”
After several minutes of trying, she finally resorted to recovering her password, only to find that the school’s system seemed almost non-existent; it didn’t even have that feature. Forgetting the password meant she had to contact the administrative office or her advisor.
But it was the weekend, so the administrative office wouldn’t be open.
That ghost…
Even though the drama with the ghost An An was wrapped up, Ning Chu was still reluctant to deal with her.
She sent a message to An An, grumbling, “Don’t let there be a situation where all the classes are fully booked and only the hardest ones are left.”
“If that happens, I’ll accompany you.”
With a sigh, she cast a glance at Wen Yang.
At that moment, Wen Yang was bent over, resting his hand on the desk, completely unguarded.
What a gap!
You think you can just mess with me last night like that!
Ning Chu’s eyes lit up as she quickly stood up, wrapped her arms around Wen Yang’s neck, and pushed him down while sweeping her leg towards his thigh.
Stalemate…
Wen Yang just found it amusing: “Your strength is a bit too weak, don’t mess around. I’ll go downstairs and get your delivery; can you try on the yoga outfit for me later?”
He casually brushed Ning Chu’s hands off and turned to grab his jacket.
His nonchalant attitude really wounded Ning Chu’s competitive spirit. She rolled her eyes, sizing up the back of Wen Yang before launching another sneak attack, clawing her way at him.
Wen Yang picked up the jacket hanging by the door and, hearing her footsteps, turned slightly to press his hand against her forehead.
“Stop messing around, feeling better already, huh?”
“Let me go if you dare!”
No matter how much the little demoness flailed her short limbs, she couldn’t reach him, jumping in frustration.
If it were still a man! Well, that didn’t seem to matter…
Being nearly a meter ninety is a bit much for someone from the southern region.
Ning Chu clicked her tongue in dissatisfaction: “It hurts, let go.”
“Don’t act up,” Wen Yang teased as he finally released her, “If you anger me, I’m afraid you can’t handle it.”
She froze for a moment before realizing.
Though thoroughly subdued in this playful scuffle, as a demoness, swapping the field of battle could give her some fighting power.
But yeah, let’s save that for another time…
“Wait until you’re older. Don’t underestimate the youth!” Ning Chu huffed as she returned to her computer, “By then, it will be you who can’t handle it, just don’t come crying to me asking for mercy.”
“Sure, sure, I’m leaving!”
But she called out to Wen Yang as he walked out the door: “Hey! Did Wang Jie visit his girlfriend this week?”
“He did, probably back on Monday all grown up again.”
“Must be nice~”
At least Wang Jie’s girlfriend could bring some excitement back to the bed~
While she was being crushed by Wen Yang in every battlefield.
“When are you going to get a picture of his girlfriend? I suspect she’s a demoness! She’s that amazing!”
“I’ll ask him.”
Wen Yang had no idea where Ning Chu’s envy was coming from.
Although he once was a man, his competitive spirit shouldn’t be focused in such a strange place, right?
