Chapter 387. Revengeful Heart
A small car stopped at the slightly desolate village entrance. Moments later, a man and a woman pushed open the rear right door and climbed out.

Ning Chu shifted positions, leaning against the wall, lifting her feet onto Wen Yang’s lap, and restlessly trying to squish her icy feet under his coat.
“Stop messing around.”
Wen Yang grasped her tiny white feet, his gaze drifting upward along her legs, glancing over her ankles, sublime calves, then higher. The bathrobe parted to reveal her full thighs in the cool air.
But Ning Chu quickly sensed his gaze, her face reddening, and she swiftly pulled her robe shut.
At the same time, in his moment of distraction, her feet stealthily slipped into his coat, the icy soles pressed against his abdomen.
“Now it’s warm~”
But Wen Yang felt as if two popsicles were pressed against him, jolting him with the cold.
“You don’t have athlete’s foot, do you?”
“Of course not!” Ning Chu proudly lifted her chin. “I smell nice all over, how could I have athlete’s foot?”
“Uh-huh, sure.”
Noticing his contemplative expression, her demeanor shifted, and she tried to pull her feet back.

“It’s Lily!”
Wen Yang finally let go of her ankles, allowing her to extract her feet from his clothes. She sprang up eagerly to open the door.
Outside stood a beautiful, lively face, though expressionless.
But Ning Chu keenly noticed a hint of flush on Lily’s cheeks, likely due to overhearing her playful banter with Wen Yang.
Still, this girl was more shameless than her, so it was probably fine.
“What brings you here?”
“I just got out of the car down here.”
Lily tugged her suitcase in front of her. “I brought you something; is Wen Yang here?”
“Bringing something? Wen Yang’s right there; why do you need him?” Ning Chu tilted her head in confusion, but then quickly grabbed Lily’s hand. “Come in, come in! You haven’t had lunch yet, right? Lucky for you, I’ve got a mountain of dumplings left over!”

“No need to thank us; just help us with a big clean-up later!”
“Wen Yang, cook another pot of dumplings!”
Ning Chu casually slammed the door shut before finally having a moment to ask Lily, “What did you bring?”
“Just wait… as long as Wen Yang’s here, it will be fine.”
Lily set down her suitcase, opened it, and pulled out a box that looked all too familiar to Ning Chu.

It was a toy she had used at Lily’s house before!
“Why did you bring this for me?”
“You’ve used it before… I found it distasteful.”
