Chapter 366

Chapter 366. In a Funk

Ning Chu stretched lazily as she opened the door to her house.

Tiptoeing over her brother’s body, she carefully made her way toward the bedroom, planning to act as if she had just awakened, just like usual.

But a noise came from the master bedroom as her mom stepped out.

Surprisingly, her mother didn’t scold Ning Chu for once again staying out all night. The two just exchanged glances, their expressions somewhat subtle, before they instinctively averted their eyes.

So awkward…

Ning Chu, lacking her mother’s worldly experience, felt her cheeks heat up rapidly.

“I’ll go make breakfast, don’t fall asleep.”

“Mm.”

She walked into the room and flopped down on the bed, her face full of existential despair.

She seriously doubted whether her mother had heard her loud antics last night…

The inn, certified by a senior succubus, was indeed quite nice—clean, cheap, hygienic, and even had chairs that unlocked new positions. Too bad that it was prone to refreshing her mother late at night.

But no amount of soundproofing could withstand Wen Yang’s fierce advances. In that moment, Ning Chu realized that in their rented place, Wen Yang had deliberately taken it easy on her because he worried about disturbing the neighbors.

But at the inn, Wen Yang wasn’t so benevolent, and that special chair was simply exceptional~

She almost thought she was drowning in overwhelming pleasure.

It felt like her insides were being rearranged…

Ning Chu rubbed her stomach, lying on her back and staring blankly at the ceiling.

What the heck is going on~

She had initially wanted to resist, trying her best not to sink into this mess.

But every night, she found herself unable to control her urges, and when she returned home in the morning, she was left with nothing but regret, and time after time, she had completely taken on Wen Yang’s shape…

Since she couldn’t fight it, she might as well enjoy it, right? Just let it be~

Suddenly, a little head plopped down on her stomach; Hei Dou had curled up beside her, her little nose twitching: “Sis~ You didn’t come home all night again.”

“When’s Mom coming back?”

“Don’t know, I fell asleep watching TV~” Hei Dou’s eyes lit up, “I smell brother-in-law’s scent again! Did you sleep with brother-in-law again last night!”

I totally took a shower! Twice!

A blush rushed to Ning Chu’s cheeks, and she glared at Hei Dou in embarrassment.

“It’s faint, but it smells pretty good~”

Ning Chu tensed up instinctively but quickly realized that the sweet scent reminiscent of Wen Yang could only be detected by succubi, while others would likely only catch a faint fishy odor—probably no one would think it was pleasant.

“Quit messing around; I need to rest for a bit.”

On the second day of the new year, their plan was to return to the countryside to visit Grandpa.

But since Grandpa and Grandma had visited yesterday, there was no need to go back.

When her mother’s voice called out for breakfast, Hei Dou dashed out of the bedroom, and Ning Chu leisurely followed, glancing at Ning Yuan, who had been awakened in the living room.

Ning Yuan’s schedule had been messed up lately—staying up late and waking up early, but he still managed to catch a nap in Ning Chu’s room in the afternoon.

“Mom, did Grandpa come over yesterday? Are we not going to pay New Year’s respects today?”

Sitting at the dining table, Ning Chu took a sip of warm milk, looking expectantly at her mother.

“Mm.”

The two chose to selectively forget, burying the events from the inn deep within their hearts.

“Then I’ll take Ning Xin to the movies today?” Ning Yuan yawned and asked, “Are you two going?”

“Forget it; there’s nothing I want to see.”

Not seeing Uncle during breakfast, she guessed he had left last night.

“When you go to the movies, don’t buy popcorn and stuff; it’s high in calories and not meat, she doesn’t like it,” her mother reminded.

Though Hei Dou loved to eat, she was only interested in meat—seafood, beef, lamb, chicken, or duck—while snacks, spicy strips, and drinks didn’t appeal to her.

While having breakfast and fiddling with her phone, Ning Chu noticed a long-dormant class group chat from high school had suddenly become lively last night.

It was the high school class group… classmates scattered everywhere had returned for the New Year, and they were discussing a reunion, with the homeroom teacher’s support no less.

She instinctively frowned as she scrolled through the hundreds of chat messages, her mood gradually plummeting.

Since crossing over to this world, she had wanted to see what her former best friends had become, whether the girl she once had a crush on now had cat ears… but now she had already turned into a girl.

Her social circle before college was completely irrelevant to her now; those first ten years of life felt like a dream, and she couldn’t even remember the face of that man from back then.

If he had seen her now, with her head filled with confusion and being pleasured under a man, he surely wouldn’t believe she was the future version of herself!

It felt as if she had betrayed herself, like she had killed herself; in both mind and body, she had completely fallen, becoming a different person entirely.

Ning Chu lowered her eyes and finished the last gulp of milk before heading straight to her room.

Suddenly, her mood felt heavily oppressive and gloomy, her whole body felt cold, making her want nothing more than to lie down and do absolutely nothing.

Hei Dou’s ears twitched lightly as she turned her head to look at her sister’s back.

Her big eyes sparkled with confusion as she asked her mother, “Mom, did something suddenly make Sis unhappy?”

“Auntie came?” her mother casually asked.

“Probably not? I didn’t smell any blood.”

Hei Dou worriedly asked, “Did Brother bully her?”

“None of my business,” Ning Yuan rolled his eyes, “I just woke up and haven’t even said two words, how could I bully her?”

“Well, it couldn’t be brother-in-law bullying her, right?”

“Why not?”

Their mother looked up at the closed bedroom door and cheerfully said to Hei Dou, “If your sister is feeling down, then it’s time for the adorable little cat to make her entrance~”

“Yay!”

Hei Dou immediately perked up, her tail high in the air.

“Go comfort your sister.”

“Okay!”

She jumped off the chair, stuffed the last piece of chicken wing into her mouth, cheeks puffy, then sprinted into the bedroom.

“Just knows how to eat,” her mother sighed weakly, “She looks about ten, but acts like a five or six-year-old.”

“If we’re going by actual age, she’s only half a year old.”

“I know… hopefully by September when school starts, she’ll be better; otherwise, she might get bullied at school.”

She propped her chin on her hand and turned to Ning Yuan, asking, “What’s got Ning Chu so unhappy? Did you kick her under the table?”

“I didn’t!”

“Didn’t you often do that to make Ning Chu mad when you were little?”

“Come on, I’m 24! I don’t do childish things like that anymore.”

Their mother frowned in confusion while cleaning up the remnants of breakfast, muttering, “She looked pretty happy last night…”

It was so loud that even with two rooms in between, she could vaguely hear it. Wen Yang must have given Ning Chu a proper reward; it didn’t sound like she was left wanting.

“Last night? Didn’t you two go out?”

Their mother calmly clarified, “I meant when we were having dinner last night.”
