Chapter 330

“What’s up?”

Jade, who was heading up to his room with some food to find a movie, looked at his relative Chloe sitting on the sofa in front of the TV and asked with curiosity.

“Are you watching the World Cup or something?”

“Oh my gosh, Jade! Are you losing your mind?”

Sister, Chloe was making gestures of disbelief.

“There’s no way a soccer game is on at this time.”

“I’m not asking because I didn’t know; ha… it’s just unusual for you to be watching TV.”

“Ah~ really?”

Chloe pointed at the TV and nodded her finger.

“Okay, then come here for a moment, I’ll tell you.”

Jade approached, still baffled.

“So, what—”

At that moment, the beer slipped out of Jade’s hand.

“Colin Show. I’ll enjoy it.”

Despite having reached an age where he should be more mature, his relative hadn’t matured much.

A sigh escaped him, but he didn’t want to challenge his sibling like when they were young, so he just got a new beer.

“What’s up, are you watching too?”

“Yeah. It’s been a while since I saw the Colin Show.”

Not overly interested, but if his relative, who rarely sat in front of the TV, was sitting, there must be a reason.

“Well, I guess so.”

However, his relative seemed a bit shy and uncomfortable about something.

Of course, that wasn’t his business.

Just then, a very familiar opening music started playing.

[Ba-ba-bam~ Ba-ra-ba, Ba-ra-bam!]

Colin the host appeared with his signature bright smile.

[Welcome to Tonight’s Late Show, everyone! It’s going to be a wonderful night. Well, at least I believe so!]

As expected, today started with some playful jokes.

[Today was perfect from the morning. I woke up before my alarm went off, can you believe it?! Hey, Colin, you? Yes, that’s me!]

Colin told the story with a comical expression.

[So, I shouted to my alarm, ‘I won!’ and went back to sleep. Hahaha!]

The audience burst into laughter.

“Jade, toss me some snacks.”

Of course, Jade tossed him some snacks without hesitation, also cracking a small smile at Colin’s jokes.

[Here’s some news, everyone.]

Now, having finished the simple greetings, it was time to naturally bring up some light recent news and issues.

‘Nothing special here.’

The show wasn’t particularly new, with topics that felt like déjà vu.

Instead, it created a comfortable and stress-free atmosphere, like a chat with an old friend, providing a sense of familiar stability.

Even so, that wasn’t enough to entice his annoying relative to crawl out and watch TV for the first time in ages.

‘Well, that’s predictable.’

The next segment began.

[Hey, just because I’m behind the scenes doesn’t mean I’m not showing up! I have to call out, really loudly. So look at my handsome face right now! You too! Hey, you there!]
In a very loud voice. So hurry up and look at my handsome face! You too! Hey, you over there!

Before the interview, today’s guests finally appear to join in a simple game.

Jade squinted at the screen.

“Were you a fan of those people?”

No matter how little interest I had in my own blood, I definitely liked music more than movies.

With all that noise pollution every night, it’s impossible not to know.

“No?”

And as expected, the response was nonchalant.

“Then what, are you going to watch that movie?”

“Maybe?”

Jade was still puzzled by his older sister’s ambiguous answer but focused on the screen again.

‘I thought an interesting guest would show up, but…’

What actually came out were the female and male leads visiting to promote their movie.

“Are you saying Chris is your type?”

“No? But why are you so interested in me?”

“Not at all.”

Of course, both were famous movie actors, and the actress playing the female lead, Emily Stone, was indeed pretty, so Jade decided to watch a bit longer.

After that, the Colin Show went as expected again.

After a simple game, the two actors shared their roles and behind-the-scenes stories during the interview.

“But that movie looks pretty interesting?”

“Then you should go watch it with Dad and Mom next time.”

“I might.”

Knowing that he felt like going to the cinema meant it wasn’t boring after all.

[Emily, Chris, thank you so much for being here today. Everyone, please give them another big round of applause!]

Anyway, now that the interview with the guests I wanted to finish watching was over and I had finished my beer,

Jade was about to get up.

But Chloe next to him was even more focused on the TV than before.

[It’s a bit disappointing to end tonight’s talk here.]

Moreover, Colin seemed to have more guests to introduce.

Jade looked at the clock while watching TV and thought, ‘The second guest must be coming soon,’ and leaned back on the sofa.

[It’s time to introduce today’s second new guest!]

Of course, since it was the second guest, he didn’t have high expectations.

He was simply curious about who the guest was that had made his own blood sit in front of the TV after such a long time—

[A very hot K-pop band!]

“K-pop?”

[Debonaire!]

In that moment, Jade looked at Chloe with a face full of confusion.

His sister had an interest in K-pop?

The image Jade had of K-pop was just that.

While K-pop was undeniably riding the wave of pop culture, it was certainly still a subculture.

Fans who were crazy about Korean culture.

The usual feeling of a ‘Korean Wave.’

Jade scanned Chloe once more.

He simply couldn’t understand it.
I can’t really tell, but Chloe was quite the popular girl throughout her middle and high school years.

She was even chosen as the prom queen at the prom party, and honestly, even I, her sister, felt she was pretty far from the subculture vibe.

“Are you into K-pop?”

“Huh, what?”

Chloe flinched slightly at Jade’s words, awkwardly blinking her eyes.

“You…”

Jade was about to continue speaking but found something difficult to comprehend.

[You guys, we need more applause!]

She turned her head back to the TV screen. The image of the second guest appeared.

“Huh?”

They were definitely East Asians, but had an absolutely rare look.

“Where have I seen them before…”

After a brief moment of contemplation, Jade shouted as if he had finally figured it out.

“Oh, those girls cheering for Korea at the World Cup!”

“Y-Yeah, that’s right!”

So that’s where I had seen them.

[Cute Korean fan girls World Cup 2026]

─Bro, aren’t they seriously super pretty?

─I told you Asian girls are top class!

─Their bodies are insane, with no unnecessary fat at all…

─What? Nerd? You see these girls and you’re still saying that?

It was a reel a friend had shown me yesterday at school.

Korean soccer fans were a huge topic in the community lately.

Especially since the World Cup was happening in the United States.

“Are they a K-pop band?”

“Um, yeah, I think so. Oh! I found out through the comments while watching the reel that they’re quite famous. They’re ranked 94 on Billboard or something… And they’re really pretty and cute, right? Plus, I heard they were coming on a talk show too!”

My older sister spoke with a hint of awkwardness, but I finally started to understand a bit.

“Really?”

Since Chloe always liked cute and pretty girls, it seemed she had a bit of a bisexual flair as well.

‘Maybe that’s why she was surprised.’

Even I thought the girls on screen were super cute and pretty.

‘I sort of just glanced at them yesterday…’

Unlike my friend who was excitedly showing off the reel, I didn’t have an Eastern aesthetic, but…

‘Honestly, they are really pretty…’

All the girls on screen were as pretty as the main guest actress, Emily Stone.

In fact, a couple of them were definitely more to my taste than Emily Stone.

‘That girl with the long black hair…’

[That’s Na-eun~]

‘Yeah, her.’

Anyway, now that my questions were cleared up, I guess it was time to get up.
She was definitely prettier than the actress from earlier.

[Well, we should probably start talking about this first.]

I decided to finish watching.

[Everyone, what does your band name ‘Debonaire’ mean?]

Coincidentally, Colin was asking a question that would answer his own curiosity.

“So, like, Debonaire? What is it, not a gentleman or something?”

“……”

Suddenly, Chloe started mumbling something beside him, as if she had something to say.

“What?”

Chloe quickly averted her gaze and shifted her body forward when I looked at her.

Jade still couldn’t understand her actions, but he followed his sister’s example and focused back on the screen.

[It’s easy.]

They had stuck a sentence on the whiteboard made of alphabet magnets: ‘DEBONAIR IS?‘…

[Na-eun: The word Debonaire literally means we are sometimes kind, elegant, and confident, just like a true gentleman.]

One of my preferences, a girl.

[Oh! A gentleman?]

[Na-eun: Yeah, actually, our youngest, Do-hee, used to keep saying he was a gentleman when he was little. Like, from around 11 or 12 years old.]

[Hahaha! Is that true, Do-hee?]

[Do-hee: Yeah, well… but my fans these days also call me a prince, you know?]

While Chloe was staring intently at the screen, she was grinning like a little fool at the girl with straight hair’s answer.

“Puh, isn’t he just adorable?”

Na-eun started fiddling with the order of the alphabet magnets one by one.

[Oh! Is it an anagram?]

It was literally a form that couldn’t be unfamiliar to Americans.

– Statue of Liberty

– Built to stay free

Even the famous representative landmark of America was like that.

And then the completed sentence.

Jade couldn’t help but let out a sigh of admiration as he looked at it.

“That’s… pretty good.”

[Na-eun: Yeah, we are always ‘Debonaire’, but at the same time, we also embody the girl we’ve always imagined, like this…]

[To think ‘Debonaire’ means that! A born ideal type, it’s just unbelievably cool.]

“Seriously, isn’t it amazing how someone thought of that?! Right?”

I felt embarrassed thanks to Chloe, who was getting all excited over her own words and making a scene while staring at me.

“Well… it’s made pretty well.”

“Exactly, exactly!”

[Na-eun: A bit embarrassing, isn’t it? Kind of narcissistic?]

[No, it’s super cool! I really love it!]

However, Chloe’s reaction felt like she already knew the meaning of the band name.

“But wait, you said this was the first time you met?”

“I-I told you! I just found out through reels…”

Some doubts started to sprout.
