Chapter 305

I am a Mage.

I’m among the top 5% of users playing Deoen and a fan of Lady Lily.

A few months ago, Lady Lily made a meteoric rise, flaunting her beautiful looks and voice, quickly becoming a famous personality that no one could ignore.

If it were just her character creation that was outstanding, such a ridiculous growth would have been impossible.

The fact that character creation is possible means there are a lot of pretty and handsome people around, which reduces the incentive of appearance compared to reality significantly.

However, her skills were also exceptional.

“She could knock down the famous rankers of the time.”

I was captivated by her smashing countless rankers and bosses, diligently watching Lady Lily’s broadcasts, and had even made donations, which have now hit a wall.

Did the God grant me luck for such efforts?

“Oh crazy!”

The moment Lady Lily declared, “I will start distributing invitations now,” I discovered an invitation.

I was busy hunting at the time; I was watching the broadcast while progressing through a Mage quest, and just as if I had been waiting for it, the invitation came down.

A rectangular letter made of blue light.

I instinctively grabbed the invitation.

As soon as I grabbed it, a question related to Lady Lily appeared before me.

It was a really simple question.

The full name of Lady Lily, the weapon she uses, recent monsters she hunted, etc.—anyone who had watched Lily even a little could answer it.

“As someone with a PhD in Lily Studies, there’s no way I can’t solve this.”

I quickly wrote down the answers to the four questions.

Then the invitation emitted a blue light and transformed into a pure white ticket.

《Would you like to enter the waiting room?》

《Please use it in a safe location. There may be a slight disturbance in waiting time.》

“Of course, I’m going!”

I expressed my intention to accept even before reading the guidance.

Time is of the essence.

I need to go quickly and pass first to be able to brag about it here and there.

Especially posting proof of my acceptance in the community would surely make others sick with envy.

“Should I not challenge the Progenitor for now?”

According to what Lady Lily mentioned, the Progenitor is a very dangerous boss.

A boss likely created for Leona Black, who’s far away.

Honestly, I think I could break it after a few tries with my current skills…

“Let’s pass first.”

Opportunities will come again.

Right now, deception comes first.

As the pure white light flickered, I arrived in the waiting room.

Red and blue magical stones were scattered on the floor, walls, and ceiling, while blue glass orbs were rotating, channeling magical power.

In the center, there was some grand-looking statue that seemed like something you’d only see in a desert kingdom.

The waiting line… already six people in front of me.

I found the invitation and solved the problem the moment it started, yet here I am, behind this many people.

There’s no guarantee this is the only waiting room either.

“Crazy cultists for Lady Lily sure are numerous.”

Of course, I’m one of those cultists too.

Seeing most of them armored in dazzling gear, I felt a bit intimidated, but who am I?
Who am I?

I am a Mage who has achieved a staggering level 74 and undergone a third job change.

If what Lady Lily showed is all there is, then there’s no way to stop me.

How long have I waited for this?

Thud.

“Hey.”
“?”

Someone tapped my shoulder.
When I turned around, there was some Orc standing behind me.

No sign of a monster… is this a race change?
Out of all the races, why an Orc?

“What’s going on?”
“That’s my spot.”
“Excuse?”

What the heck is this?
I distinctly remember entering the waiting room with six people, and I was the seventh in line.
Now, with one person gone, there are only five ahead of me.
Meaning, there should be no Orc standing in front of me that I’ve never seen before.

“What are you talking about? You came later than I did.”
“It’s my spot. Move aside.”
“No way, what nonsense…”

I sneak a glance at the burly Orc behind.
Everyone looks like they have low levels, grimacing with one shoulder slumped.

Did they steal spots like this while waiting?
As I stared at them for a moment, the Orc seemed to think I got it and pushed past me.

“Get lost.”
“Unbelievable.”

I don’t know how strong this Orc brat is, but I’m no push-over either.
A Mage isn’t called a nuisance for no reason.
Especially a third-job Mage can take on even knights from decent kingdoms.

This Orc should be a piece of cake…

‘Wait. Let’s calm down.’
I briefly retract the staff I was about to pull out.
Lady Lily specifically mentioned that if a fight breaks out in the waiting room, This Guy Uncle would shout, “This Guy!”
Even though Lady Lily sometimes says weird things, I doubt she’d joke about something like this.
Even if it’s not This Guy Uncle, she must have set up some measures.

But the fact that that Orc brat cut in line without any repercussions…
‘Doesn’t seem like it’s a big fight?’

“Hey.”
“Grrr. What now?”

The Orc, who was aiming for the next turn, turns his head.
He looks much more ferocious, probably due to that ugly face.
Does he find it fun to play games with a face like that?

“Why are you leaving? I’m not done talking.”
“Do you want to die?”

The Orc stomps his feet heavily, getting right in my face.
With those red eyes, the Orc glares at me.
Still not done?

“Changed your race and now your head’s gone soft too? Don’t even know basic manners? You bug-like Orc can’t even line up properly?”
“You bug!”

The Orc, out of sync with his size, pulls out a double-edged axe that’s almost as big as his torso.
The blue blade glints in the waiting room, and the axe swings down on the Mage—
Boom!

…It turned to sand before even touching me.
“?!”

‘Statue?’
It’s a statue.
The massive statue that was quietly standing in the center, tall enough to touch the ceiling.
As the statue goes thud…! and moves its hand, the hulking Orc transforms into a pile of sand the size of its own bulk.
With a flick of my hand, the massive orc turned into a mound of sand.

The people in line ahead, who had been gritting their teeth and ignoring everything, were now staring at the statue in shock.

The waiting room fell silent, except for the sound of sand scattering.

As all eyes focused on the statue, its mouth opened.

“This Guy.”

“‘……’”

The statue’s mouth closed.

[OMG, I just met That Guy Uncle!]

Author: Lily’s First Sword

I got the invitation and immediately solved the problem to enter the waiting room.

I thought I was super fast, but there were six people in front of me.

So I figured everyone was crazy and stood behind those six, but then some kid who transformed into an orc tried to cut in line.

Looking back, I saw several regular users who had already given up their spots to the orc.

I was so dumbfounded that I almost threw a fit, but then I remembered what Lily said about That Guy Uncle and decided to start some verbal sparring.

The orc got mad, pulled out an axe, and in one crazy moment, the statue in the middle waved its hand and turned to sand.

Then, it casually said, “This Guy” and went back to sleep, LOL!

I was seriously freaked out, hahaha!

─No way, that’s insane! Hahaha!

─LMAO!

─Is this real?

└Yep, totally real.

└This seems like a different waiting room, but I just met That Guy Uncle here too. Don’t mess with him; he’s super strong…

└LOL!

└But why did the orc do that? Lily warned everyone not to fight.

└Who knows? Maybe the orc transformed and his brain turned to stone too.

└Line cutting education, savage!

─I was in a different waiting room with some rankers trying to raid the statue, but it didn’t work. Four rankers in the top thousand disappeared in one second, damn! Hahaha!

└That Guy Uncle’s class…

└Does That Guy Uncle seem weak to you?

└“This Guy.”

└Hahahaha!

└You can’t beat That Guy Uncle, for real…

─So did you pass?

└Nah, just got in.

└Why does this punk have the nickname Lily’s First Sword but is a mage?

└Mages are stronger than swordsmen.

└That’s true…

└When are they going to nerf Deoen the mage!?

《Dimension Implementation Complete.》

《Dimension Difficulty – ●●○○○.》

《You have entered the ‘Fourth Castle of the Vampire.’ Rewards will be given based on your achievements.》

《1. Eliminate the ‘Blood Stone’ located at the top of the castle.》

《2. Eliminate all vampires.》

《3. Defeat the Progenitor’s Prestige.》

Finally, after a long wait, I entered the castle.

The difficulty of the entrance exam is Level 2.

The conditions are the same as the broadcast, and since I’m a mage, I chose a staff and a crossbow as my weapons.

The crossbow is a weapon you can just aim and shoot, regardless of your job.

Moreover, Lady Lily also cleared it with a crossbow.
I cleared the palace.

‘By the way…’

I lightly tapped my feet.

I moved my magical power to cast a spell.

“Hmm.”

Surprisingly, it didn’t feel much different.

There was a lot of talk about stat nerfs and skills not working, but experiencing it firsthand didn’t feel like a significant reduction.

If anything, I felt even more enhanced physically.

“Is it about leveling the playing field?”

It’s clear that an unbridgeable gap exists between rankers and regular users.

To gauge talent, adjustments will definitely be necessary.

While we can’t use our existing weapons, using the weapons we received might actually be better for people like us.

“Alright! Shall we go?”

《You have died.》

《Moving to the Dead User Waiting Room.》

“…?”

Is this some kind of test?

I was momentarily stunned in disbelief when one of the users who had been eliminated approached me from afar.

“You died too. How far did you get?”

“I killed one gatekeeper and then died.”

The gatekeeper of the second stage requires three crossbow hits to be taken down.

If I hadn’t been attacked while dealing minor damage, I wouldn’t have been able to kill even one.

Then I valiantly fell to two other gatekeepers.

“What?! You killed a gatekeeper?”

“No, you killed a gatekeeper?!”

“Are you a ranker or something?!”

The man gasped in surprise and stepped back, while other users approached, equally surprised and asking how I managed it.

…Wait, it looked pretty promising a moment ago?

“No, I killed just one… Real rankers probably cleared it already, right?”

“Of course, the top-tier rankers are on another level. Look over there. There’s a clear list.”

In the direction the man pointed, there was a red stone tablet.

On the tablet was a single engraved list.

《‘Vampire’s Fourth Castle’ Clear List.》

《1. Beriard A- (Time Taken: 17 minutes 21 seconds) – Bloodstone Destroyed.》

《2. Black C+ (Time Taken: 2 hours 53 minutes 24 seconds) – All Vampires Eliminated.》

《3. Myul C (Time Taken: 1 hour 59 minutes 11 seconds) – Bloodstone Destroyed.》

《4. Yul C- (Time Taken: 2 hours 4 minutes 42 seconds) – Bloodstone Destroyed.》

《5…

Familiar names.

Most of them I think I know, but there’s one that feels oddly ambiguous.

A name proudly taking the first place among numerous rankers.

《1. Beriard A- (Time Taken: 17 minutes 21 seconds) – Bloodstone Destroyed.》

“Who is Beriard?”
