With a final swing of the club, I smashed the Big Boar’s head, and the defeat message popped up.

It has its limitations of needing a target to use and cannot be canceled during the charge, but it could be quite useful depending on how I use it.

With a mighty thrust, I plunged the sword into the hide and pulled it down repeatedly. Finally, the leather split open, and I quickly stashed the insides into my inventory.
I wouldn’t need the entrails, but I had to get rid of them first since there are monsters that would smell them and rush over.

It took longer than I calculated to peel away the guts, perhaps due to my lacking strength. After 20 minutes, I finally stripped the hide completely, gathered the most nutritious parts like the hind leg and tenderloin, and placed them neatly into the inventory.

I couldn’t say it was because it wasn’t my first time, so I just focused on wrapping things up quickly.

I plucked a tuft of hair from the Big Boar’s neck and stuffed it in my pocket. It was particularly thick and dark; usually, this is how I get compensated for the kill. Shaking off the remnants, I began to move again.
A single tuft of the Big Boar’s badge hair is worth 4000 won, and a Low-Rank Mana Stone is worth 7000 won. This guy doesn’t carry silver since he’s not humanoid.
Though the earnings are better than goblins, realistically, it’s not enough considering the effort spent.
The Big Boar meat is known for being high in nutrition and delicious.
However, the creatures in this dungeon are toxic, so not many parts are edible. Still, the hind leg is poison-free; I should be able to sell it at a decent price.
If I go to a higher-level dungeon and catch one there, the poison would be gone, and I’d be savoring heavenly flavors, although I won’t get to taste it anyway, I still felt my mouth watering.

Nodding in satisfaction, I sensed the size of the foes caught in my web of senses. As I clenched my fist, Yeon-hee also stopped and crouched down.
Using the pre-arranged signals from our one-room, I relayed information to Yeon-hee. Two Big Boars and about 20 goblins.
Among the monsters we’ve encountered, this was the largest group so far.

Yeon-hee seemed a bit tense too, gulping as she perked her ears towards the direction of the monsters.

Carefully approaching, I saw two Big Boars surrounded by goblins with their backs against a tree. Some goblins were staggering away from being gored by one of the Big Boar’s horns.
Typically, Big Boars prefer to roam alone. Yet, they do move together as pairs until their offspring reaches a certain size, and right now, that’s exactly what these two were.
Given the size and stats of the Big Boar, a few goblins should be no match for it. However, when 20 of them gather like that, the story changes.
A 2 vs 20 could be a fair match due to the goblins’ species trait of gaining strength in numbers.
“I couldn’t steal the goblins’ ‘strength in numbers’ trait. Is it because it’s a species trait?”
Or perhaps I just happened to have bad luck, but considering the number of kills, that probability was slim.

The Big Boars and goblins were in a standoff for a moment.
And then, I heard the string of Yeon-hee’s bow being taut, the sound sharp as she aimed at the exposed weakness of the Big Boar.
Seemingly sensing that tiny vibration, the Big Boar turned its head, shrieking while the goblins, having locked eyes with Yeon-hee, frantically glanced back and forth, hesitating on which way to attack.
But once Yeon-hee started drawing the bowstring, I rushed in closer to the goblins, spraying acidic liquid all over.
Splurt−! Phew−!
The arrow launched right after the spray.
All of that happened almost simultaneously, throwing the creatures in the area into chaos.
Squeeeaaak!! Thudthudthud!!
As expected, the first to react were the Big Boars. One charged at Yeon-hee after an arrow lodged itself in its side; the other, confused after being hit by the acidic liquid, lunged at the goblins.
But Yeon-hee quickly used a slime as a shield to deflect the Big Boar’s attack, while I was merrily clubbing the little green monsters attacked by the charging Big Boar.
Whoosh! Hiss-
Just hearing the snorting of the Big Boar told me how furious it was, and the goblins who had hesitated between running or fighting finally charged at the still threatening Big Boar for a group beatdown.
Unfortunately, their attacks were lackluster after the acidic splash, and the Big Boar, while getting hit, was still systematically goring them one by one.
Meanwhile, I continued to balance the fight between the two species, darting in and out with quick jabs.

As I was enjoying my XP from defeating goblins, I heard Yeon-hee’s tear-inducing scream. I quickly turned my head to see a slime that had been wrapped around her arm, now limp and gooey, sliding to the ground like cooled soup.

Without time to mourn my first warrior, I swiftly moved up a tree, carrying Yeon-hee while fleeing from the Big Boar.

With my mid-F grade strength, carrying someone while climbing a tree wasn’t an easy task.

My slow pace in the tree allowed the goblins to target me, throwing clubs and stones indiscriminately.

The Big Boar, violently attacking its own kind, blew away the goblins like bowling pins while snorting in my direction.

I took some damage while climbing, and my health took a hit, yet I was stable for now, with only one Big Boar left standing while the other monsters were severely injured.
Watching the excited Big Boar repeatedly charge into the downed goblins with its tusks, Yeon-hee began to grasp her bow again.
“It’s my first time shooting from a tree, but…”

The arrows raining down from above turned the Big Boar’s body into a porcupine as it hesitated to flee, likely due to its fallen companion.
And deciding it was time to jump down now that I had depleted some of its health, I leaped straight toward it.

Activating the skill, everything except the designated Big Boar was blocked from my view. It was a charge as stupidly straightforward as the name suggested.

The massive 200kg beast rolled several times away from my headbutt, and I couldn’t help but drop my jaw in awe.

Of course, my own physique wasn’t exactly normal either. Even with the defense boost from Reckless Charge, my health plummeted.

The beast I hit shuddered for a moment, then slumped over, meeting its end.
