After the pre-recording of the opening ceremony stage.
On the way back to the waiting room.
“How do you feel about your first stage?”
“Well, it’s my first time as an MC, but… it was so much fun, and I’m thankful to the fans who came to the recording this morning. I’ll work hard to be a diligent MC from now on!”
The producer of the pop song suddenly shoved a behind-the-scenes camera in my face.
“What do you think Seven Unni would say if they saw today’s stage?”
It’s been a while since Seven disbanded, but since they still get mentioned a lot, I figured this interview must be for publicity.
“Um… but I think everyone would react differently.”
“How so?”
I pondered and recalled each member one by one.
First, there are the obvious ones.
“Well, Sara Unni is the most obvious. She’d be saying ‘So cute… so cute…’ all day long. Wow, I can already hear her voice.”
When I started detailing, the producer smiled and urged me to continue.
“The next obvious one would be Chae-rin Unni? She’d probably say, ‘Do-hee, you did great on stage!'”
“Um, that’s not really obvious; it’s just standard, right?”
“No, there’s a point here. Chae-rin Unni actually missed it because she was sleeping and only half-listened to the other members talking about me in the living room.”
“Oh, really… Does Chae-rin Unni sleep a lot?”
“Yeah, mostly when she has downtime. She seems to lack energy, and when she works, she gets really tired. Hana Unni often focuses her stamina training on her. She dances well, so she gets off easy.”
“I see. What about the other Unnis?”
It seemed the producer wanted me to describe all the members, so I loosely mentioned the atmosphere at the dorm.
“If Sara Unni were watching my fancam and giggling, Hana Unni would probably be smiling but looking at it seriously? ‘Did she do well? Did she mess up?’ Oh, but I’ve never been critiqued before.”
“Why not? You’re just that good?”
“Yep.”
The producer laughed heartily.
As if they asked first.
And it’s actually true.
“Harang Unni would probably be like, ‘Wow, look at Do-hee’s adorable stage—crazy!’ while speaking casually. But if you think about it, all her comments would be compliments. Honestly, this Unni gives the most compliments.”
“On the other hand, Seo-yoon Unni would obviously tease me while pretending to praise me. When we get back to the dorm today, she’d be like, ‘Sigh… The youngest, Do-hee! The center, you know!’ adding random embellishments. Sigh…”
“Hehe! As expected, Center Tokking! Adding flowery language on her own. Sigh…”
“And lastly, Kim Ye-eun Unni.”
“Honestly, this unni has the most diverse variations, so I can’t figure her out. It’s impossible to pin her down.”
“Still, the most ordinary thing is…”
“I’m not sure if it’s okay to say, but this unni is currently the MC of a K music show, right? Maybe that’s why she’s igniting rivalrous spirit in me right now? Earlier, she sent me a photo of herself as an MC on KakaoTalk. Anyway, I feel like she’ll randomly send me her special stage fancam again today.”
The Director chuckled and nodded approvingly.
“Thanks for making the interview fun~ Now, go to the MC Waiting Room and relax until rehearsal~”
“Yes.”
Of course, the waiting room wasn’t exactly comfortable.
“Senior, the stage was nice.”
“Ah…! Yes, yes!”
Getting awkwardly back together with the yes-yes bot.

After the pre-recording ended, audiences, whether fans of Aiburst or Do-hee’s fans, received two boxes each while exiting.
One sky-blue box featuring the Aiburst logo, and a white box with Topist’s logo and a rabbit sticker attached that belonged to Do-hee’s agency.
Both were gifts in exchange that contained snacks and photocards as a gesture of goodwill to each other’s fandoms.
Of course, most fans held a positive view of the MCs.
Since there were no cases where friendships among MCs turned into romances.
Generally, excluding the occasional extreme sasaeng fans, friendships between MCs were welcomed by the fans as a good element.
Do-hee’s Home Mama was also one such clean fan.
Right after the recording, she mingled and chatted with Aiburst fans whom she vibed with.
Aiburst_쓰@A_bus_toliz
─First impressions of seeing Do-hee in person) The princess is crazy, stunning, visual genius, but where’s Seung-bin? Do-hee, you’ve got the looks!
Dol Ahyee @dol_Ahyee
─@Ail_is_Liz Thank you for the biased compliment. Please continue the cheers! But Seung-bin might get hurt hearing this.
Aiburst_쓰@A_bus_toliz
─She needs to be raised tough. We shouldn’t spoil her too much.
Dol Ahyee @dol_Ahyee
─Oh no… Our Ra-hee grows vigorously just from fans encouraging her…
Aiburst_쓰@A_bus_toliz
─But you know that the members there are famous for raising each other strongly.
Dol Ahyee @dol_Ahyee
─Seo-yoon is the main culprit…
In fact, among the home mamas with high attendance, they had only run into each other a couple of times, but it was possible since they had once been fans of the same group.
As Do-hee’s home mama was killing time chatting, she settled down in front of the TV around 3:40 PM.
Finally, the live broadcast was starting.
“Let’s go, let’s go!”
And then the special stage.
Even though they had watched it vividly through pre-recording, seeing it on video was a whole different story.
As soon as the broadcast began, the intro played.
Do-hee, dressed in a sailor dress, made a playful face and smiled brightly as she leaned into the 360-degree camera.
─Oh, the special stage song is my jam!
─That 00s vibe, LOL!!!!
─Her face is turning 360 degrees, and she’s pretty from every angle, is this real?
Do-hee presented a refreshing stage alongside Joo Seung-bin, who wore scuba goggles, looking perfectly synchronized without any sign of tension.
[Why do you keep growing (growing!) just for me?]
[Why do you keep feeling so far away (away!) just from me?]
Do-hee’s adorable rap and the choreography of fist-bumping each other fell perfectly in place.
─LOL, why does Do-hee’s rap tone sound so fresh and cute?
─Yoo did well on the special stage, and her expressions are funny, haha!
─As expected, music show MCs should be idols rather than actors.
[I’ll let myself go~ to you~]
[My ocean~ my sky~]
[Just hold me and fall asleep like that~]
Maybe it’s because instead of feeling like a cover stage, they definitely seemed like the owners of the song, and the new music show MC’s stage was one of the highlights everyone was watching, so the SNS was flooded with posts tagged #HitSong.
─This visual is genius, though.
─These two really match well…
─Yoo, the production staff has good taste; they deserve a fat paycheck!
Naturally, Do-hee’s home mama was a major contributor to that flood.
Dol Ahyee @dol_Ahyee
─Seven, it starts big, refreshing Do-hee, grand opening with a fanfare, refreshing Do-hee festival start, ocean club opens, ocean Do-hee club discount event starts, sailor Do-hee event starts, sailor Do-hee festival starts, sailor Do-hee military band entrance, pretty girl Do-hee enrolls, pretty girl Do-hee graduates and re-enrolls, Eonsweat’s back to school, Eonsweat party starts, Eonsweat makes an entrance.

While the recorded special stage “Ocean” was being broadcast, I chewed on the cue cards I had read throughout the rehearsal in my head.
Just as I fell into a moment of thought, the PD’s cue signal dropped.
Joo Seung-bin immediately grabbed the microphone, waved his hand, and kicked off the opening.
They started the opening chant.
“Where are we going on Sunday~?”
“Yuhangayo~!”
I waved my hands frantically.
“Live broadcast SBC!”
“Yuhangayo~!”
I declared my lines just as rehearsed.
“Hello, I’m Do-hee, the new MC of Yuhangayo!”
“And I’m Joo, Joo Seung-bin!”
“Finally, our new MCs are here to greet you with Yuhangayo! Woohoo~!”
“Do-hee, it’s August now, and it’s so hot. Can you feel the heat of this stage~?”
“So, we’ve worked hard to blow away that sultry heat in a refreshing way.”
I sang a line from the special stage “Sea” lightly while swaying.
“My sea~ my sky~ Did everyone enjoy the special stage~?”
The audience gave applause and cheers.
“Really? We prepared the stage with passion, so it got even hotter!?”
“Oh, Do-hee, aren’t you a bit too bold from day one?”
“Tsk, Seung-bin. At times like this, just nod your head.”
“As a rookie MC… But I hope the viewers will like us rookie MCs going forward!”
I nodded with the audience’s response of “yes!”
“Thank you for your support moving ahead!”
“Now, Seung-bin! Let’s put our nervous hearts aside and introduce our comeback of ‘Iju!’ from Iju’s!”
“Yes! The legendary group has returned in full force. Super…”
*
“Thank you for your hard work, Senior!”
“You too, Do-hee! I’ll be off now!”
“Alright~ See you next week!”
The first broadcast ended safely.
I felt a sense of achievement, and the awkwardness eased up, thank goodness.
More than anything, since I didn’t make a blunder while speaking, I won’t be teased by my older sisters or fans.
I guess it’s thanks to my experience as an idol frequently appearing on music shows.
“I was totally like an announcer.”
Of course, I had to speak in that cute and lively MC manner.
But honestly, it wasn’t too hard.
I’ve forced myself through it more than once, I guess.
I’m annoyed at how accustomed I’ve become.
But soon, I’ll be re-debuting as Debonaire.
In a cool concept that’s mostly around.
I need to aim for that image transformation.
“I hope to keep a gentle and graceful vibe in variety shows too… phew.”
I hope that day comes soon.
