It seems this unboxing live stream isn’t as polished as professional reviewers, but hey, who needs fancy cameras when you have genuine reactions, right?
“There’s an illustration of the product on the box… The face isn’t an exact match, but they at least tried,” I mused while looking at the packaging.
Sure, it’d be great if it looked identical, but we’re talking 2D versus 3D here! Just like how the illustrations on the Chronicles of Aetherna box don’t exactly match the game’s 3D models, figures will have their differences too. But let’s be real, with a price like this, the quality is definitely better than the in-game models… at least, for now.
Sometimes you see a plastic window on the box to peek inside, but not for this figure. It’s just a thick cardboard box with a nice picture and little info about what’s inside.
“Here, the back shows what’s inside—uh oh,” Alice gasped, flipping the box around only to quickly hide it again.
“….”
I decided to remain silent.
“Uhh, well, the figure does have that outfit, so it can’t be helped,” Claire chimed in to comfort Alice.
LOL ROFL Crown Princess is exposed!
To our surprise, the figure’s underwear color was a bit too revealing. Generally, if the figure isn’t designed to showcase that, it usually has plain white undies. But to my amusement, the Sylvia figure showed off its panty wrinkles just fine, albeit subtly.
…Couldn’t they have just given it shorts or something?
I mean, I get it. That’s kind of the selling point. If they added anything too modest, the censorship police would probably have a fit. Perhaps I would’ve been one of those noisy people back in the day, but that’s a story for a different time.
Clears throat Alice looked ready to dive into the contents, “Okay, let’s see what’s inside!”
Woo! Finally!
The sound of the cutting tape came next, and I opened the box with great care.
“Wow, so this is how it’s packed,” Alice observed.
Yeah, not something you see every day—how many people can say they’ve bought a figure over a hundred bucks?
“Usually, people play with plastic models, but figures, nah, people shy away from those due to prying eyes at home.”
But don’t think you can just wait to be independent either—figures are like Legos. Once you get that independence, spending money on them feels like a waste compared to other needs. Plus, where are you even gonna store them? Thus, the ultimate goal of an otaku: a spacious home for all their goodies!
Scritch—the sound of thin plastic scraping unpleasantly against the box.
The plastic insert squeezed the figure from both sides. It was snug and secure, of course, because a plastic chunk over a hundred bucks needs proper protection.
Pop!
With Alice’s strength, the bond wasn’t too tough to break.
“The body is in two parts,” Claire noted, looking on curiously.
They did separate the upper and lower parts for safe-keeping—smart move to avoid breaking at the waist. There even was a thin plastic sheet between them.
“Do we have to assemble it?” I asked.
“Yep!” Alice nodded enthusiastically.
“Alright… let’s do it.”
Alice cautiously pulled out the pieces, and while the whole moment felt a tad too otaku-ish, saying it out loud would just lead to a dismissive reaction, so I held my tongue. The viewers surely were aware enough.
She connected the lower body to a clear base first. I’ve got to give it to them—it was sturdy enough to stand without support, though a brace was included just in case.
Then Alice started peeling off the protective film from the upper body…
WHOOP!
Down the skirt went!
Not broken, mind you; just designed to be easily removable to avoid dye transfer.
And just like that, we had a Sylvia figure half-naked!
LOL Too much! Stop right there!
“…..”
I picked up the fallen skirt and attempted to place it back on the lower half delicately—
DING DONG!
Figure is complete without a skirt!
—But a mission for a ten bucks popped up on screen, so I just set it back down instead.
Capitalism is a monster!
“I’m from the Empire of Aetherna, the land ruled by extreme capitalism, so it’s a given!”
The chat filled with affirmations.
“…Are you sure it’s okay?”
“I didn’t take it off myself, so I’m in the clear.”
“Your face is all red though.”
“…It’s still technically not me who undressed it.”
Claire kept teasing, but Alice seemed relieved from the situation.
“Alright, moving on then.”
We sped through unboxing the head and the upper body, putting them together on the waist coordinating a coat fit to be draped over.
We initially wondered why there’d be a brace if the figure could stand alone, and it turns out that brace was to support the coat! The character was in a casual pose, stepping forward with one leg and holding their rifle in a confrontational stance.
But the coat… oh boy, it was flowing in a dramatic manner. Alice probably had to carve grooves deep enough to actually accommodate the shoulders for that nifty detail.
“Hmm… done!” Alice smilingly pushed the assembled figure in front of the camera.
With a commanding stance, rifle at the ready for the next enemy. The coat added a nice dynamic touch, and the wind tousled the hair just right. I couldn’t help but think the pose was far from boring.
However—
Did you forget the skirt? What a boon! Seems fitting considering Sylvia’s character, right?
“….I don’t forget to wear skirts, okay?”
But really, that outfit sure was a bit lewd.
It wasn’t even like it was a short skirt or a leotard; it was literally just the panties!
And with that serious expression and stance, it made it even weirder—as if it was perfectly natural.
Sylvia’s hypnotic edition!
“…”
I couldn’t even retort if I wanted to.
After the unboxing ended, I made sure to put that skirt back on the figure.
A bit embarrassing, but more so, leaving it like that would likely get us flagged.
I wasn’t sure what the standards for this site were, but it made sense to play it safe for now.
“Well then, let’s dive back into the Chronicles of Aetherna.”
I couldn’t afford to stretch out the fun too much.
Because of Claire’s earlier bits and the figure unboxing, time really flew by, and if I wrapped things up at my usual time now, there wouldn’t be much left to do.
It would be a win at this point just to view a cutscene!
We were definitely past the halfway mark since the last save, and the plot was thickening now that the empire’s army progressed toward the borders of Velbur!
“Charlotte…”
As the character appeared, I noticed Alice’s sympathetic mutter, sensing her concern.
It felt like Charlotte was deep in thought, unable to respond properly to conversations as she gazed off into the distance unlike usual.
“I wonder how Charlotte would react if she saw this,” I pondered aloud.
Right?
What would her reaction be?
I found myself curiously intrigued.
My site has received a lot of DMCA notices, lol. From now on, I will update the MTL on https://darkmtl.com/.
The site is fast and lightweight because there are no ads yet. However, the theme is different from Cybor-TL, so take some time to familiarize yourself.
