Chapter 118: The Test
“How did you do that? Do you have some special physique? Can I study you?!”
Zhao Gou’s eyes sparkled with excitement.
Liu Shunyi glanced at him.
“Exhausting lifespan to heal injuries!”
Zhao Gou looked at Liu Shunyi in shock.
“Have you lost your mind?”
Liu Shunyi waved his hand dismissively. “Don’t sweat the details.”
With that, he turned his gaze ahead.
In front of them lay a void, within which were two glowing doors.
“Each of us picks one!” Liu Shunyi declared.
After a moment’s hesitation, Zhao Gou nodded.
“Alright!”
With that, the two stepped through the glowing doors.
————
As soon as Liu Shunyi stepped into the light, he found himself in a cave.
In the cave sat an old man, initially with closed eyes.
As if sensing someone’s presence, the old man opened his eyes and grinned, ready to smile.
But before he could, Liu Shunyi rushed up and shoved two fingers into the old man’s mouth, effectively tearing it apart.
The old man’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“Ah…”
He jumped up in a fit of anger, pointing at Liu Shunyi and stuttering incoherently.
Although Liu Shunyi couldn’t understand him, he knew the old man was probably cursing him out.
However, after a short while, the old man’s wound healed.
Now he glared at Liu Shunyi in anger.
“Young man, are you out of your mind?”
Liu Shunyi chuckled. “Sorry, I just couldn’t hold back when I saw your crooked smile!”
Taking a deep breath, the old man replied, “Well, young man, you made it this far, which means you have some skills. But if you want to enter the real Giant God City, you’ll have to pass my test!”
Liu Shunyi thought for a moment and asked, “You’re just a roadblock, right? Why not just eliminate you? If I can kill you, then why do I need to take a test?”
The old man shook his head. “That’s the rule of Giant God City. Within this rule, I can’t be killed, so you must pass the test to truly enter!”
Without another word, Liu Shunyi instantly unleashed a sword strike.
The blade of light sliced through the old man’s body, cleaving him in two.
But in the blink of an eye, the two halves rejoined.
The old man smirked mockingly. “So, do you understand now?”
Liu Shunyi felt a bit helpless.
He sheathed his Qingping Sword and tucked his hands into his long sleeves. “Alright, what’s the test then?”
The old man remained silent, clearly angry at Liu Shunyi’s rudeness.
After waiting two minutes without a word from the old man, Liu Shunyi smiled. “Here’s an opportunity: either you kindly tell me the test, or I’ll make your life a living hell. You might not die, but the pain’s still there, right? Worst comes to worst, I don’t have to enter Giant God City.”
The old man’s expression changed.
“Wait, the test is a trial! As long as you pass, you can enter Giant God City!”
With that, the old man quickly made gestures, and the cave instantly shifted.
Then the scene changed rapidly.
Once it settled, a whiny voice echoed out.
“Please don’t blame my senior brother! It was really an accident, and it has nothing to do with him!”
Liu Shunyi: “???”
What was going on here?
Why was there a smell of tea wafting in as soon as he entered?
He looked around.
Hmm, there were a few beauties and a young boy who looked like a little milk dog, currently sobbing with a group of girls comforting him.
“Prince Hongtaiji, you’re too much…”
“Pfft…”
Before she could finish, Liu Shunyi drew his Qingping Sword and swiftly ended the chatter by slicing off the head of the girl who was speaking.
The rest gasped in horror as they looked at Liu Shunyi.
The other girls, who were about to criticize him, instinctively fell silent.
After killing the girl, Liu Shunyi scanned the others.
Hmm, they all looked like Outer Disciples; the few girls seemed slightly better off, just around the Golden Core Initial Stage.
Liu Shunyi felt uneasy, as if this scene looked familiar.
He uncertainly asked, “Did that little brother just imply that I pushed him down?”
He gazed around, seeking confirmation.
The girls turned red with anger, ready to retaliate.
But Liu Shunyi’s Nascent Soul pressure descended instantly.
“Boom, boom, boom…”
All the girls and the sobbing little milk dog dropped to their knees, their faces pale with fright.
At that moment, Liu Shunyi grabbed a disciple out of thin air, grasping the boy’s neck. “Is what I said true?”
The disciple was so frightened he nodded vigorously.
Liu Shunyi let him go and asked again.
“Oh, then weren’t these little girls about to blame me?”
The disciple nodded again.
Liu Shunyi burst into laughter.
What kind of dog-shit trial was this?
“What status do I have? If I pushed you, it must be your fault!”
Seeing the little milk dog about to cry again, Liu Shunyi flashed a sword light.
In an instant, the child was cleaved in two.
“See? If I disliked you, I’d just chop you. Why would I bother pushing you over like that?”

Having done all this, Liu Shunyi turned back to the girls.
“What status do I have?”
The girls turned pale.
“Zong, Zongzhu!” (Sect Master)
Liu Shunyi chuckled. “I’m the Sect Master? Oh, what a Sect Master I am! It seems you’re all living quite well within the sect. I guess I’ve been pretty nice to you, huh? All this comfort is making you brazen enough to criticize your sect master!”
With that, Liu Shunyi raised his sword.
All the girls met the same fate.
Finally, he remarked, “All cultivation resources should be distributed to the disciples.”
The disciples, initially pale, instantly perked up.
“Sect Master is mighty!”
“Crack~”
The secret realm shattered.
Liu Shunyi returned to the cave, but the old man looked at him in shock.
“Did it end that fast?”
Liu Shunyi felt speechless.
What kind of nonsense was this?
“Alright, the test is over, so how do I enter Giant God City?”
The old man scratched his head.
“No, wait, I need to see how you completed the trial! I just finished a cup of tea!”
As the old man said this, he closed his eyes.
Not long after, he looked at Liu Shunyi in disbelief.
“This… uh…”
The old man wanted to speak but fell silent.
Suddenly, Liu Shunyi understood.
“Wait, that wasn’t just your experience, was it?”
The old man glanced at Liu Shunyi and nodded silently.
Liu Shunyi asked, “So, what did you do in the end?”
With a sigh, the old man replied,
“After that, my reputation plummeted, and for certain reasons, I had to prove my innocence through death. But I didn’t die in the end; I just became useless!”
“Eventually, a little white-face raised by some dog-daughter managed to grow strong and has been suppressing me here ever since. I’m neither alive nor dead!”
Liu Shunyi looked at him as one would at an idiot.
