Chapter 9: This is Too Overbearing

Three cultivation techniques had cost Liu Shunyi a total of four to five thousand points.

For Liu Shunyi,

this was pure profit.

After that, he went ahead and bought a complete introductory guide to alchemy and a fire-starting technique.

Why?

Because alchemy makes money!

Though he currently had one hundred thousand points,

there would definitely come a day when he would run out.

If he wanted to make a name for himself in the cultivation world,

he had to learn some decent ways to earn a living.

Alchemy was the most lucrative option.

Pills were essential for practitioners.

Having bought all this,

Liu Shunyi turned to leave.

But he wasn’t going back.

He wanted to get some serious training done.

However, the techniques he was about to practice might cause quite the ruckus.

He didn’t want to draw attention to himself.

Therefore, Liu Shunyi made his way to the secluded shop he had marked earlier.

Qinglian Mountain’s Abandoned Hill.

The spiritual energy here was still fairly rich.

It just wasn’t picturesque enough; even young couples couldn’t be bothered to come here to workout.

That was precisely why Liu Shunyi chose this spot.

After confirming that no one was around,

Liu Shunyi found a secluded space.

He sat cross-legged.

Then he began to study Crazy Thunder Sutra.

Perhaps it was because he had transmigrated,

but Liu Shunyi’s comprehension was simply outrageous.

He quickly grasped the method of operation from the scripture.

“Isn’t this just timely absorption and manipulation of the electromagnetic energy in the air, then igniting spiritual power using said energy, forming more electromagnetism, and creating a vortex to pull in spiritual energy for your dantian? Simple!”

Liu Shunyi tossed the Crazy Thunder Sutra into his storage bag.

Then he began his training.

“Zzzzz…”

As Liu Shunyi activated the technique,

waves of thunder began to dance around his body.

As time went on,

the thunder intensified.

Before he knew it,

the spiritual energy around him visibly formed a vortex, which Liu Shunyi began to absorb.

Of course,

this violent influx of energy

was directly tearing at Liu Shunyi’s body, meridians, and limbs.

But strangely enough,

Liu Shunyi didn’t feel any pain, and the ripped meridians and body parts were healing rapidly even as they were being shredded.

“Boom~”

At last,

a dark thundercloud formed above Liu Shunyi’s head, and lightning descended, striking directly between his eyebrows.

Liu Shunyi felt nothing; he was merely indulging in the pleasure of feeling his body and cultivation level grow stronger.

Four hours passed!

When the name Zhang Junbao could no longer shine,

Liu Shunyi hurriedly stopped.

“I go, this technique is ridiculously overbearing!”

Liu Shunyi was sweating bullets.

If it weren’t for the Natural Law Scroll, he probably wouldn’t have dared practice this technique in his lifetime.

However!

Liu Shunyi could feel the true energy within him and had an astonished expression on his face.

“Qi Refinement, Fifth Layer!”

Liu Shunyi could hardly believe it.

How long had he been cultivating?

Just four hours.

This was just four hours! He went from the peak of the Second Layer of Qi Refinement straight up to the Fifth Layer.

This technique is seriously impressive.

But still,

it’s a bit of an enemy destroyer.

Looking at the now dull Zhang Junbao,

Liu Shunyi felt a twinge of sadness.

“Sigh, I guess that makes another one wasted!”

He muttered to himself.

Liu Shunyi had to stop cultivating.

Come on.

That Zhang Junbao must have had considerable power.

And yet, after just four hours of his own training,

he couldn’t hold up against it.

There was no way he could risk training further.

He didn’t want to deal with pain!

Since he wasn’t planning to train for the time being

and didn’t lack any cash,

Liu Shunyi thought hard for a moment,

then pulled out the basics of alchemy and began studying it.

Walking and reading.

……

……

Ji Suying and the little loli perched high atop a tree watched Liu Shunyi train.

“Sis, how long did it take for you to reach the Fifth Layer of Qi Refinement?”

the little loli asked.

Ji Suying thought for a moment and replied, “About three years!”

The little loli inhaled sharply.

“Sis, he took just four hours! Plus, he’s not just practicing the Crazy Thunder Sutra, but he’s straight up mastering it!”

Ji Suying didn’t know what to say either.

She could even feel Liu Shunyi’s Fifth Layer Qi Refinement power and momentum, which seemed more terrifying than the Eighth Layer.

This was simply mind-blowing.

What’s even more incredible was Liu Shunyi’s recovery ability.

“Seriously, how can someone with Liu Shunyi’s talent possibly be a servant? And how can he train so fast without having a good spiritual root?”

“Should we report this to Master?”

Just as Ji Suying was about to nod,

she suddenly felt an ominous sense creeping in.

Quickly, she raised her hand to interrupt.

“Today’s events must not be disclosed to anyone! No one can know!”

The little loli quickly nodded,

beads of cold sweat on her forehead.

Ji Suying turned back to look at her.

“You sensed it too?”

The little loli nodded, pale-faced.

They exchanged a silent look!

……

……

As Liu Shunyi headed back, he was suddenly drawn to a commotion coming from the Natural Law Scroll.

“Oh boy, after this chapter, there’s more! Click the next page to keep reading for more excitement!”

When Liu Shunyi saw the gold-tipped brush moving,

he felt both excited and a bit tense as he looked around.

Thinking, “What the hell, I’m just a servant! Why does it seem like someone wants me dead every day?”

But soon,

he excitedly noticed that the first stroke of that golden brush was shining brightly.

Jeez, which big shot is out to get me?

Liu Shunyi was both thrilled and terrified.

But after waiting for a while,

the golden brush suddenly turned and scribbled out the name it had just written, restoring the calm.

Liu Shunyi: “???”

Wait, what?

Not writing anymore?

My golden legend?

Where’s my enemy?

“Hey, brush! Are you half-baked or something? Did you just stop writing when you got the urge? Doesn’t that feel uncomfortable?”

The golden brush swung in the air again.

“Ah~”

Liu Shunyi suddenly felt a sting on his face.

“What the hell! I gave you a chance, didn’t I? You’re really gonna mess with me? Let’s see who’s tougher!”

Just after Liu Shunyi finished speaking,

the golden brush darted out from his grasp.

Liu Shunyi was dumbfounded.

“Wait, are you serious?!”

The golden brush didn’t waste time,

it just started tapping on Liu Shunyi’s head.

“Roar~”

Liu Shunyi experienced real pain for the first time.

He quickly hugged his head and begged for mercy.

“Grandmaster, I was wrong! I won’t do it again!”

The golden brush finally calmed down and returned to the Natural Law Scroll, reverting back to its serene state.

Liu Shunyi’s head was spinning.

“Hey, Grandmaster, why does your superpower also hit back? Can I return it?”

The golden brush quivered in response.

It floated in mid-air and wrote another name.

And this name was blue.

“Qin Shaogong!”

Liu Shunyi was a bit confused.

“Hmm? This name sounds unfamiliar. I’ve got no associations—don’t even know the guy. Why would he want me dead?”

Liu Shunyi pondered over the possibility.

Could it be that this Qin Shaogong was friends with Zhang Erhu or Zhang Junbao, and now I’m implicated due to Zhang Erhu’s demise?
