Chapter 114

Rupert was feeling an emotion of discomfort.

It was when he first felt this discomfort while serializing Iron-Blooded Alchemist.

Yustaf himself had come to ask about the alchemical circle featured in the comic, and the Abyss Cult had even attempted to experiment with the imperial alchemical circle that appeared in the comic.

This was a development not seen in the original work, and he thought it was just a result of his influence on the plot at the time.

While there was a crisis then, Rupert thought it was fortunate everything turned out well, so he just brushed it aside.

But now, hearing that even the Van Helsing he just drew was connected to some kind of incident, Rupert began to seriously suspect a possibility.

‘Sataniel… wasn’t that guy practically a nobody in the original?’

The name Sataniel, spoken by the long-lost eldest son of Somerset, was known to Rupert.

But while it was impressive for Rupert to remember, Sataniel had indeed been a minor antagonist with no significant role in the original.

He appeared as the leader of the villainous organization that collaborated with Ignisia, the Witch of Flames, when she attacked the academy.

Without any notable accomplishments, he was just a pawn who was used by Ignisia and died.

‘But he killed the Swordmaster?’

He couldn’t help but be completely surprised by Richard’s story, as there was no way for him to know the character backgrounds and settings just by reading the original.

In the original, the Swordmaster Cal Origen was a MacGuffin-like character.

He was someone comparable to the sage Yustaf, a martial arts master for the Third Prince, but he was missing and had no news.

The fact that he died at the hands of Sataniel meant that Sataniel was not just some minor villain.

He had to at least be at the level of Ignisia, the Witch of Flames.

‘In that case, Rupert also didn’t have much background.’

Rupert, who was currently possessed, had a story that couldn’t be understood at all just by reading the original.

In the original, Rupert was merely a background character who was busy chasing after Amelia and gifting her paintings.

Even the fact that his father, Count Bradley, had a silly side yet was a kind-hearted person was not mentioned.

The little sister, Aida, being a very cute and lovely girl was also never covered in the original.

The fact that his older brother Richard had gone missing was a story that was also not in the original.

“Rupert, can you tell me how you came to know our story and drew it into a comic?”

Rupert looked at Richard, who was asking with desperate eyes.

“Brother, is it true that what the Dark Elves and the Allied Forces are looking for is the Blue Flower?”

“No, how could you know that?”

Rupert was curious, but Richard’s response confirmed his suspicions.

‘I did take inspiration from one of the hit comics from Earth, but does that even exist here?’

He was too shocked to even be surprised anymore.

And his suspicions deepened.

‘Am I really drawing this comic of my own volition?’

When creating Iron-Blooded Alchemist, he had started drawing after hearing the story of the Philosopher’s Stone while doing physical training in the barracks with Mularus.

This time, he thought about avoiding a situation like what happened with Iron-Blooded Alchemist and created Van Helsing, a comic that didn’t seem related to another world.

However, he couldn’t see the situation where Van Helsing was also tied to actual ongoing events as just a coincidence.

The first time could be seen as a coincidence, but if it happened a second time, it was no longer a coincidence.

“Brother, to be honest, my comic is just something I’ve drawn from my imagination.”

“What? So, this is just a mere coincidence?”

Rupert understood Richard’s incredulous reaction.

Even he thought it was strange that a story would fit together this well and call it a coincidence.

‘I can understand Yustaf’s feelings now.’

He had thought Yustaf was overly dramatic for coming to ask how he had seen the alchemical circle and drawn it.

But now he could comprehend.

“I only drew what I saw in my dreams.”

“Dream?”

Rupert racked his brain on how to explain why the comic he drew matched up with the real-life events, and the answer was dreams.

“Yes, I’ve started dreaming for some time now. They’re quite fascinating dreams, so I created a book based on them…”

Rupert wondered if there was another talent besides painting in the body he had possessed.

His claim that he had merely transcribed what he saw in his dreams sounded so absurd at first, but…

“Could it be the Goddess? The Goddess surely sent down the prophecy about the crisis looming over the continent through my dreams!”

In another world, dreams were not merely fanciful things.

Everyone, including Richard and the Count, and other household employees, completely accepted Rupert’s story about dreams without any doubt.

This was due to how Gaia, the goddess of this world, delivered prophecies.

Her way of conveying her will through the dreams of living beings on the surface led people to view dreams as divine revelations from the goddess.

Of course, it was well-known that only the Saintess received genuine revelations, but there were occasional historical records of non-Saints receiving prophecies as well.

“Rupert! Then did the Goddess perhaps guide you in your dreams about where the Blue Flower is?”

Richard asked urgently, and Rupert pondered for a moment before speaking.

*

“Thank you! If it weren’t for you, Rupert, the continent might really have fallen into a crisis.”

“No, brother. More than that, let’s quickly gather your comrades.”

“Right, I’ll be back soon!”

Richard burst out the door, eager to bring the allied forces waiting in the village of the territory back to the mansion.

The people of the household were busily preparing to welcome the sudden influx of the large allied force.

“There’s enough room to pitch tents, so we need to prepare their meals and washing spaces!”

“Elves don’t eat meat, so we need to prepare a lot of fruits and vegetables.”

“Shouldn’t the Holy Knights stay at the nearby church?”

While looking at the bustling staff preparing, Rupert recalled the previous conversation.

‘The Blue Flower, I called it the blue flower in the comic I’m drawing, but it’s a flower that grows in caves.’

‘Cave?’

“Yes, there’s a hole in the ceiling that allows light in, but the morning glory that grows above it blocks the sunlight and withers away at night, so only moonlight gets in.”

This was about the Blue Flower, which was a key material in Van Helsing that Rupert had set up.

It could only thrive under moonlight, which meant it couldn’t grow in ordinary places; it could only flourish in special environments, such as caves near water with morning glories blocking sunlight.

Richard was pleased that Rupert’s explanation had narrowed down the search, but Rupert couldn’t join him in his excitement.

‘If it exists, that’s a problem, and if it doesn’t exist, that’s also a problem.’

If it truly existed, Rupert would need to find the one who was controlling him without permission.

That person was likely the one who had caused him to be possessed in this other world.

And if it doesn’t exist at all, that was a problem too.

According to Richard’s account, Sataniel was a very powerful adversary, and if Sataniel got his hands on the Blue Flower and grew even stronger…

It could truly bring a crisis to the entire continent.

“Aida has a big brother now!”

“Yeah, are you happy to have an extra brother?”

“Yes! I hope Aida has more family!”

Since Aida had left home at an age she couldn’t even remember, she was over the moon at the arrival of a big brother she met for the first time.

“Then when your brother returns, you’ll have even more playmates.”

With the students from the academy gathered at the Somerset Mansion for the vacation, Aida was already having fun with no shortage of playmates.

‘By the way, how was Aida in the original?’

As Rupert watched Aida joyfully running around with more people around, he suddenly grew curious.

If Richard had not returned in the original and Rupert had entered the academy as a student as planned,

Only the Count and Aida would be at the mansion.

Moreover, the family’s debts were already in place, so the circumstances would have been much worse than now.

“Witch Oun! Come here!!!”

Watching Aida run toward Oun and kick her, Rupert thought, ‘Still, I think things have changed for the better.’ He took a small figurine out of his pocket.

This will surely be a great help in the future.

It was the small figurine of the goddess modeled after the Saintess’s meeting with Rupert before she parted ways.

Rupert sometimes took it out to look at, but today, the expression of the goddess statue, which usually looked kind and gentle, seemed strangely apologetic. Was it just his imagination?

*

“What? You really found out the location of the Blue Flower?!”

Richard, who had returned to the mansion earlier, gathered the allied forces to announce information about the Blue Flower he learned through Rupert.

“Indeed! If it’s a cave, that fits the conditions perfectly.”

“I never thought there would be a small puddle and morning glories inside the cave! It was talking about a jet-black lake lit by moonlight.”

“Then if we can find the cave where the morning glories are growing, the search area will be significantly reduced.”

The allied forces had translated ancient documents to find evidence, but they had been struggling with the overly vague information afterward.

One of the achievements was the collection of information about the guardian of the Blue Flower, which was something Jenia had suggested.

“The Blue Werewolf is highly likely to be the guardian of the Blue Flower.”

It was a coincidence that they stumbled upon information regarding the Blue Werewolf.

While researching materials about the Night’s Kin, they discovered there were legendary adversaries that had vanished long ago among them.

The predators of the now-extinct Night’s Kin were the Blue Werewolves.

They were said to embody the essence of all werewolves, possessing immense strength and extraordinary regenerative abilities, just like the Night’s Kin.

But because their numbers were so few and their growth was slow, they eventually disappeared into history, overshadowed by the more populous kin.

And confirming that there was treasure guarded by such Blue Werewolves, the allied forces were all convinced that the Blue Werewolves were the protectors.

“Then let’s use Somerset Mansion as our base and extend our search around that area.”

The Crimson Wardens and the Dark Wizards all followed Richard’s opinion, and even the most difficult people, Alexander and the Zion Knights, agreed with that opinion.
