Chapter 8: Alchemy Magic and Space Magic
Four days after my reincarnation.
After doing my morning walk and radio exercises, I finished breakfast and started on paperwork.
For me, an uncle with over ten years of work experience, playing the role of a 15-year-old villainous noble was a piece of cake.
In fact, to increase the efficiency of the paperwork, I decided to standardize forms, sizes, and storage methods during my remaining time.
I also told Iris to look for a new trading company instead of the Midakudo Trading Company, and she said there’s another company they had dealt with before that would be fine.
Then, after finishing lunch, it was finally time for the much-anticipated magic practice.
I had no issues with appraisal magic since I had used it for spy hunting.
Now it was time to practice alchemy magic and space magic.
First, I checked my status for space magic.
Space Magic: Item Box Level 1, 2m x 2m
(Cannot store living things; capacity increases with level up. No time stop function.)
Teleportation magic (Magic proficiency insufficient)
Barrier magic (Magic proficiency insufficient)
Got it. The only usable magic right now is the item box, which is about the size of a storage shed.
If I level up my magic proficiency, I can use teleportation and barrier magic, huh?
So all I have to do is spam casting magic, right?
For now, I guess I just need to try out various things.
I decided to start by putting stuff from the room into the item box.
After grabbing something to put in, I concentrated and stored it in the item box.
As I focused, it vanished smoothly.
Next, I thought I’d try taking it out. I concentrated, and it came out as I focused on it.
I decided to store various items to see how much I could hold.
A status window appeared in front of me, allowing me to view my storage list.
Next, I looked into alchemy magic.
Checking the appraisal for alchemy magic, I found:
Alchemy Magic: Can synthesize and process materials.
Cannot create from nothing.
Once crafted, the recipe is registered, allowing for smooth production next time.
With materials, I could probably create just about anything with this magic.
Then I thought, why not try making that?
I visited the workshop located in the mansion’s annex.
There was a dwarf couple working as gardeners.
While gardening, they were also making farming tools and cooking utensils for the mansion.
Next to the workshop were the materials storage and warehouse.
Since I could create items through alchemy as long as I had materials, I took out iron, copper, wood, cloth, and leather from the materials storage and started the alchemical process.
I infused my magical power into the materials and transmitted my image to them.
The materials twisted and writhed but didn’t take the shape I envisioned.
After flowing my magical power for about thirty minutes without producing any shape, I found myself kneeling. While I hadn’t run out of magical power, I realized that maintaining magic also required physical stamina.
Sighing at the oddly-shaped lump in front of me, I heard, “Young Master, what are you doing?”
Gant, the dwarf, stood behind me.
I explained that I was trying alchemy magic but it wasn’t going well.
As expected, Gant, being knowledgeable about crafting, was familiar with alchemical magic as well.
Time until the planned death: 1,078 days.
