Chapter 25: The Conclusion
The crack in the rock was like a cliff.
I had no choice but to descend alone.
What lay below was an expansive space that couldn’t be seen from above.
Hiding there, Goto and Pal lay in wait.
I assessed them swiftly.
Goto was the leader of the Grassland Wind, known as the Poison Blade Goto.
True to his title, he killed enemies with a sword laced with poison.
He was also skilled in body enhancement.
Pal was the lone magician of the Grassland Wind.
He specialized in the fire magic known as the Blazing Pal.
I tried to relay the assessment results to Rose, but—
After a few exchanges between Rose and Goto, the battle ended in an instant.
It was a crushing victory for Rose.
—
A little time rewound.
At the bottom of the cliff, Rose stood, facing Goto, while Pal stood behind him, weapons drawn.
“How did you know we were the Grassland Wind?”
“Hmm, that? Before we entered the dungeon, the Young Master said, ‘Grassland Wind is known for their bad reputation. They change their names and numbers and always aim to split their targets up and take them out. So, if we get divided for any reason, there’s an 80% chance it’s the Grassland Wind.’”
“There could be a 20% chance, you know. ‘Oops, I accidentally killed you’ doesn’t cut it.”
“Plus, multiple teams of A Class or B Class are crawling through this dungeon..It’s impossible for only a single C Class team to be lurking around.”
“No C Class? What does that mean?”
“As long as the Grassland Wind is in the dungeon, that’s their tactic. The dungeon’s reception desk has issued notices beyond just you guys.”
“I see… But it’s still both A Class. You have one guy, and we have two. After I kill you, I’ll make sure the top dogs die too.”
Just as he said that, Pal launched a fireball from behind.
Rose quickly jumped to dodge it, but—
It was as if Goto had been waiting for it; he jumped and slashed with his sword.
Before that could land, Rose’s sword slashed through Goto’s chest.
Upon landing, she threw the sword behind her.
It pierced Pal’s head perfectly, ending his life.
“How… How is your speed faster than my sword at body enhancement level 5?”
“Too bad; I’m at body enhancement level 7.”
—
Thus, the Grassland Wind was annihilated.
“Rose, what should we do with these guys?”
“Just leave them be. They’ll be absorbed by the dungeon.”
“Should we report this to the guild?”
“No need for that either. Well, life and death in the dungeon is a personal responsibility. It’s what they’ve been doing until now. Reporting would just lead to a ton of annoying procedures.”
“Alright, then we’ll head back for now.”

1050 days until the scheduled death.
