Chapter 16: Off to the Adventurers’ Guild
Having completed the Magic Gun M19 and crafted 100 bullets, I decided to head to the Adventurers’ Guild with my maid in tow.
It was time to venture into the Ronma Dungeon.
As I entered the guild, all the adventurers turned their heads towards me.
I was expecting the usual template of being harassed by villainous adventurers, but surprisingly, there were no idiots looking to mess with a noble accompanied by a maid.
In fact, it seemed they recognized me, glancing at me with the sort of disdain one might have for maggots, whispering among themselves.
“What’s that pig-noble doing here?”
“Well, isn’t he a noble? Maybe he came to request something. But who would ever take on a request from a pig-noble?”
“That maid’s a real cutie, though.”
I could hear their chatter but chose to ignore it and made my way to the reception.
As soon as the receptionist saw me, she said, “I’ll escort you to the Guild Master.”
Immediately, I was led to a back room.
It seemed nobles were given an audience with either the Guild Master or the Sub-Guild Master.
The Guild Master was a tough-looking guy with an eye patch over his right eye. He used to be an A-rank adventurer named Banger before retiring to become the Guild Master.
Once in the Guild Master’s room, he asked what I needed.
“I just want permission to enter the dungeon. That’s all.”
The Guild Master looked troubled, but then glanced at my maid, Rose, and said, “Well, I suppose that’s fine. I’ll just ask—how deep do you plan to go?”
He seemed a bit awkward using polite language.
“I’m planning to go to at least the fifth floor. Also, register me as an adventurer.”
“Understood. Please place your hand on the crystal in the next room for registration.”
After completing my adventurer registration, the crystal revealed my level.
Ballad Deiman (Human, Male, 15 years old)
Lv: 1
HP: 250
MP: 200,002,000
Magic: Alchemy Magic, Space Magic, Appraisal Magic
Skills: Cooking, Crafting
Titles: Pig Noble, Gourmet Noble, Alchemy Novice
So, I’m at Level 1, huh?
I checked the appraisal for Lv: 1.
Level: Increases by defeating monsters. Those who have never defeated a monster are all at Level 1 or do not have a level displayed.
There are cases where levels can increase without defeating monsters.
Specifically, by defeating individuals or demi-humans with higher levels than yours.
I see, so my level wasn’t displayed because I’ve never defeated a monster.
The reason the maids’ levels weren’t displayed when I appraised them was either that I didn’t recognize my own level, or things I don’t recognize don’t show up in appraisals.
Well, whatever.
For now, I’m diving into the dungeon!
1061 days left until my scheduled death.
That’s a lot of magic points.
