Chapter 15: Let’s Go to the Dungeon
I’ve been leading a fulfilling life.
In my previous life, I was a couch potato who hated exercise, but I’ve been doing walking and radio calisthenics to build up my stamina for… well, you know, the naughty stuff.
Surprisingly, my motivation has been strong enough to keep it going without falling into my usual three-day slump.
Now, I was planning to enjoy the gourmet cuisine of this world, but it turned out the food here was still in development.
So, I ended up making hamburgers, ramen, and hot dogs using my knowledge from my past life.
And it seems all of them are doing quite well so far!
Next up after the isekai gourmet is monster hunting, right?
At the edge of this town, there’s a dungeon.
At the entrance to the dungeon, there’s the Adventurers’ Guild managing it.
Thanks to my gaming knowledge, I know all the monsters that appear in this Ronma Dungeon.
And I know how to defeat them too.
But then I realized something crucial.
I checked my status, and there was no level displayed!
I tried checking it again.
Ballad Deiman (Human, Male, 15 years old)
HP: 250
MP: 200,001
Magic: Alchemy Magic, Space Magic, Appraisal Magic
Skills: Cooking, Crafting
Titles: Pig Noble, Gourmet Noble, Alchemy Beginner
My titles have increased, and my HP and MP have slightly grown.
But the level still doesn’t show.
Is there something wrong with my appraisal, or is there another reason?
If I remember correctly, in the game, you could see levels using the crystal at the Adventurers’ Guild.
I’ll have to check that out.
The first layer of Ronma Dungeon only had slimes, so I should be fine.
But from the second layer, goblins start appearing, and by the third layer, kobolds, becoming progressively stronger.
It’d be wise to craft a weapon that I can defeat them with.
What weapon should I use? I can’t handle a sword yet with this body.
I’ve just gotten to the point where I can walk without getting winded and have only just started lightly jogging.
I prefer to take down enemies without moving too much.
Using a bow with my current stamina feels unreliable.
And I don’t have long-range attack magic in my spell repertoire.
My magical talent leans toward production-type magic, so I should create a magical tool that can unleash attack magic.
If I’m going to make something, a magic gun—specifically, a magic revolver—would be ideal.
Using gunpowder to propel bullets might be tough physically due to the recoil.
So, I’ll design it to launch rounds using wind magic; it’ll be similar to an air gun.
That way, it won’t make much noise and could serve as a silenced weapon too.
I inscribed a wind magic circle onto the grip of a revolver style resembling an S&W M19.
Why that one? Because it’s the gun of my favorite character, Daisuke Jigen, from Lupin III!
By inscribing the wind magic circle at the base of each bullet, when I pull the trigger and the firing pin strikes, the magic circle activates and sends the bullet flying.
It took me about three days to adjust the distance and power of the bullet.
My experiences from weekends spent airsofting with my military otaku friend Hayashi were very helpful; the S&W M19 was the gun I used at that time.
Of course, I used automatic and assault rifles too, but for now, I wanted to test if my S&W M19 knockoff magic gun would work on the monsters in this world.
