Chapter 14: Gourmet Map of Another World
“I’ve reincarnated as the villainous noble who’s destined to die in three years!”
After finishing my daily walking and radio calisthenics, I set out into the town with a map in one hand and a maid in tow to create my gourmet map while eating on the go.
However, as I walked through the town, people began to part from my side like waves.
Well, I suppose as a disliked villainous noble, I had to accept that.
Entering a shop, I was greeted with a voice full of disdain from the shopkeeper, “W-welcome, Lord Ballad…”
That’s a point deduction for their attitude. I asked for their recommended dish.
Unfortunately, the food wasn’t impressive either—another point deduction.
The place had a grand building aimed at nobility but was all show and no substance.
The dishes looked good but tasted mediocre.
As a former Japanese person, I have high standards for flavor!
After checking out a few places targeting nobles, I decided to head to a shop aimed at the common folk.
There, I found an incredible line of people, and up ahead was a sign that read “Mofu Burger.”
“This is the most popular place in town right now,” Iris explained.
“I’ve eaten ten Mofu Burgers!” Rose piped in, clearly wanting more.
Just then, I heard Oguro’s voice coming from within the shop.
“I’m terribly sorry, but we’ve sold out for the day. We look forward to seeing you again tomorrow.”
“Damn it! I couldn’t buy anything again!”
“That’s why I said we should go earlier,” someone grumbled, and others began to give up and head home.
Once the customers cleared out, I entered the shop.
“Ah, it’s Lord Ballad!”
“Woof!”
Miki and Pome were there, along with two boys from the orphanage. It seemed they had to enlist extra help due to the busy period.
“Thank you very much for coming, Lord Ballad. Thanks to you, our shop is thriving!”
“It’s busy, so we got help from Luke and Han,” they added.
“You two! Your work should be finished by now. If you know any tasty places in this town, I’d like you to show me around.”
“If that’s the case, we can guide you!” replied the orphan boys, Luke and Han.
“Miki and Pome have only worked here, but we’ve been employed at various shops, so we know them well.”
Trusting them, I let them take the lead.
The first stop was a soup shop, and the second was a sausage shop.
Both were indeed delicious, but the places looked like they were about to crumble.
It seemed the chefs prioritized food quality over the state of their shops.
Unfortunately, due to their shabby conditions, they barely had any customers.
The taste of the soup from the first shop felt familiar—tonkotsu flavor!
I quickly crafted a noodle-making machine using alchemy.
For tonkotsu, thin straight noodles it is!
After crafting a vehicle, my alchemy skill level shot up, and I became capable of making simple things in no time.
I negotiated with the shop owner to sell tonkotsu ramen, and of course, I provided funding.
The sausages from the second shop burst with meat juice on biting, and they were sold skewered, so I thought this should be a hot dog.
I negotiated with the shop owner about that too.
I decided to source ketchup and mustard from the Deiman family.
Ketchup and mayonnaise didn’t exist in this world yet, and I was the only one producing them under Hunt from the Deiman family.
I planned to create a workshop for making ketchup and mayonnaise eventually since I want Hunt to make various kinds of products.
As I worked on the gourmet map, it seemed that most of the delicious shops were only those dealing with the Deiman family.
Days until death: 1,065.
