Chapter 18: The Divorce Agreement Signed
After leaving Huayue, Yeyun Ye recalled Jingxian Xiang’s words and went to the company without hesitation.
With her employee ID, Yeyun Ye was not stopped at the company entrance. She did not return to her department but went directly to the CEO’s office.
Yuexiang Yang had intended to stop Yeyun Ye, but before he could say anything, Xiuqi Chi emerged from the meeting room.
Seeing Yeyun Ye there, Xiuqi Chi was surprised but spoke with disdain, “Now anyone can just walk in.”
Having grown accustomed to Xiuqi Chi’s insults these past few days, Yeyun Ye looked at him and said, “Mr. Chi, I remind you, you and I are still husband and wife in name.”
Hearing Yeyun Ye’s words, Xiuqi Chi felt she was becoming bolder. Ignoring her sarcasm, he said indifferently, “Speak if you have something to say. I don’t have time to waste with you.”
Yeyun Ye had been waiting for Xiuqi Chi to say this. Upon hearing it, she immediately took out the divorce agreement from her pocket and handed Xiuqi Chi a pen.
“Heh,” Xiuqi Chi said, looking at the divorce agreement with Yeyun Ye’s signature already on it. He no longer stood outside but directly dragged the woman into the office.
Yeyun Ye tried her best not to focus on Xiuqi Chi’s emotions and spread the agreement flat before him. “Mr. Chi, please sign. I don’t want to drag this out. You are marrying Jingxian, so this divorce agreement was bound to be signed sooner or later. There’s no need to delay further.”
“It seems Yuxun Xia’s position in your heart is not that significant.” Seeing that Yeyun Ye was no longer submissive because of Yuxun Xia, Xiuqi Chi felt an inexplicable joy. He spun the pen in his hand, contemplating whether he should fill in his name.
“I went to the hospital to ask. Yuxun came home after working until eleven last night.” Yeyun Ye had been worried about Yuxun Xia and feared that contacting him would complicate matters further. She had even called the hospital nurse to inquire.
Xiuqi Chi’s handsome face darkened bit by bit at Yeyun Ye’s words. He cast a glance at the woman who had mustered the courage to speak to him and let his fingertips trace Yeyun Ye’s jawline.
“Is it because I haven’t done anything to him that you’ve gained courage?” Xiuqi Chi found it laughable. This Yeyun Ye, who once claimed to love him, was now repeatedly challenging his boundaries for another man.
Upon hearing Xiuqi Chi’s dangerous tone, Yeyun Ye’s heart began to race. She knew that it would be effortless for Xiuqi Chi to do anything to Yuxun Xia, and Yuxun Xia would have no room to resist.
Yeyun Ye closed her eyes and took a few steps back, creating distance between herself and Xiuqi Chi. “I just want a divorce. It has nothing to do with anyone else.” Then, as if afraid Xiuqi Chi would refuse her again, Yeyun Ye brought up Jingxian Xiang.
“I went to see Jingxian before coming here. She asked why I hadn’t divorced you yet. I told her…” Yeyun Ye paused, looking Xiuqi Chi in the eye, showing no sign of guilt. “That you didn’t like her enough, and that men are easily changeable. After three whole years, even an iceberg would have warmed up more than me. What happened between us is something Jingxian could never…”
“Bang!” Xiuqi Chi kicked over the coffee table in front of him. “Who told you to talk nonsense to Jingxian!” The man, enraged, grabbed Yeyun Ye by the neck. Feeling her slender form, he knew he could break it with just a little more force.
“Since you want a divorce so badly, I’ll grant it to you!” Xiuqi Chi looked at Yeyun Ye with disgust and wrote his name on the divorce agreement.
Finally getting what she wanted, Yeyun Ye coughed a few times, covering her neck, before putting away the agreement. Xiuqi Chi stood before her, forcefully gripping her chin. “You’d better pray that Jingxian doesn’t come to any harm because of your rambling, or I will surely make your life a living hell.”
With that, Xiuqi Chi irritably wiped his hands and strode out of the office. Yeyun Ye slumped to the floor. Past memories replayed in her mind like a movie, but this time, she did not cry.

Xiuqi Chi decided to go directly to Jingxian Xiang. On the way, he called her. When she answered, Xiuqi Chi sounded anxious, “Jingxian, how are you doing?”
Jingxian Xiang found Xiuqi Chi’s question bewildering. “What?”
Xiuqi Chi calmed himself and asked in a deep voice, “Where are you now?”
“At home.” Jingxian Xiang was thoroughly confused. “What’s wrong, Xiuqi?”
Xiuqi Chi gritted his teeth. “It’s nothing.” He hung up the phone.
Yuexiang Yang, who was driving, was even more perplexed. He then heard Xiuqi Chi utter three words: “Return to the company.”
Upon arriving at the company, Xiuqi Chi opened the office door, but Yeyun Ye was no longer there.
“When did she leave?” Xiuqi Chi asked the secretary standing beside him.
Sensing the anger radiating from Xiuqi Chi, the secretary cautiously replied, “Not long after you left, that lady also left.”
*Good riddance!* *She’s gotten good at lying to get a divorce now!* Xiuqi Chi looked at the overturned coffee table on the floor, his voice filled with audible frustration and anger. “Replace everything in here, inside and out! It needs to be done by today, or you can all resign!”
No one dared to object, but they began to speculate about Xiuqi Chi and Yeyun Ye’s relationship.
After leaving the company, Yeyun Ye returned to the villa. She wasn’t going to mistreat herself. Since Xiuqi Chi hadn’t given her any money, she intended to take the clothes and jewelry she had bought over the years. Facing him, what was her dignity compared to money? Besides, in Xiuqi Chi’s eyes, she was already a shameless woman. She might as well embrace that identity today.
As Yeyun Ye walked out with several suitcases, Xiuqi Chi returned to the villa. The moment he opened the closet, he discovered that all of Yeyun Ye’s clothes and jewelry were gone, including his wedding ring. He knew immediately who had taken them. He had thought she would leave empty-handed, but she had one last trick up her sleeve.
Xiuqi Chi took out his phone, intending to call and taunt Yeyun Ye, but to his surprise, his number had been blocked. After throwing his phone down fiercely, Xiuqi Chi gradually calmed down. He used the home phone to call the hospital. After hanging up, an icy expression settled on his face.
