Chapter 32: The Girl Who Shattered Stars
Watching Elrose’s eager expression, the Evil God couldn’t help but smile wearily.
“I really can’t fulfill that request of yours.”
The Evil God stamped his foot on the ground, causing his divine position to disappear instantly.
“Hey, don’t put it away! Let me see it a little longer,” Elrose said.
“No way,” the Evil God gently shook his head. “The Evil God’s divine position isn’t something clean; if you keep looking at it, your soul will be tainted.”
“Ugh…” Elrose let out a disappointed wail.
Seeing Elrose’s overly dramatic demeanor, the Evil God shook his head indifferently. “Okay, okay, back to the point. I’ve already sworn with my divine essence, so now you should believe me.”
Elrose thought for a moment and then nodded slightly. “Fine, since your attitude is so proper, I’ll reluctantly believe you.”
“Thank you for your trust.” The Evil God smiled slightly, then snapped his fingers, freeing Elrose from her shackles.
Elrose regained the ability to move, lightly stretching her body before continuing, “But I still have some questions. Since you say the Star of Ruin wasn’t released by you, then who did? And who is this body I have now? Why does her surname match the Star of Ruin exactly?”
“Unfortunately, I won’t tell you the answers to those questions,” the Evil God shook his head.
“Ah, why not?”
“Because I hope you will find the answers on your own,” the Evil God said with a smile.
“Find them on my own?” Elrose frowned. “Why make it so troublesome? Since you know the answers, why not just tell me?”
“No, the answers obtained without the process are incomplete,” the Evil God said. “Do you want to know the answers? Then go search for them. In the process of seeking, you might gain something even more wonderful than just the answers.”
Elrose’s brows furrowed slightly. “I feel like you’re just trying to deceive me.”
“How could that be?” the Evil God said seriously. “I am your closest comrade; how could I deceive you?”
“When did you become my comrade?” Elrose retorted.
“When we signed the contract,” the Evil God revealed a mysterious smile. “Rest assured, with the existence of the contract, even if the whole world betrays you, I will definitely stand by your side.”
Elrose scratched her head, pondering for a moment. “Honestly, I don’t even remember when I signed a contract with you, nor do I recall the content of the contract, so what you’re saying now is a bit… you know?”
“Oh, you don’t remember?” The Evil God shook his head. “That’s fine; I can just show you my contract again.”
The Evil God stepped forward and extended his hand to Elrose.
Elrose hesitated for a moment but still placed her hand on the Evil God’s little hand.
In that instant, two identical runes lit up on their hands.
Divine Contract.
In that moment, Elrose instantly understood the contents of the contract.
“Please become a Magical Girl and save this world.”

Elrose was momentarily taken aback; she had expected the contract with the Evil God to be something immensely complicated and lengthy, yet it turned out to be just a simple sentence.
Even if that sentence sounded very heavy.
“Save the world, huh…” Elrose twitched her lips, puzzled. “I don’t quite understand what that means. Is there something wrong with this world?”
“Yes,” the Evil God nodded. “The Star of Ruin is that problem; it shouldn’t have appeared in this world again.”
“With its appearance, combined with the butterfly effect, the destiny of this world will deviate from its proper trajectory, heading toward irretrievable destruction.”
“In a sense, the Star of Ruin is a bug in this world.”
“So, I summoned you from an unarrived future to this world to combat a bug with a bug, in hopes of seeking a glimmer of life.”
Having finished speaking, the Evil God left Elrose standing in place, lost in thought for a long time.
“I understand what you mean, but why should I go through such a troublesome thing?” Elrose murmured. “Besides, saving the world is supposed to be the hero’s mission, right?”
“That may be true, but this matter probably isn’t something a hero can resolve,” the Evil God said.
“Problems that even he can’t solve? Don’t joke with me,” Elrose replied. “As much as I hate to admit it, he’s a formidable powerhouse who crossed an eight-hundred-level gap to defeat me. If even he can’t resolve the issue, I probably won’t have a good method either.”
“You will find a way,” the Evil God smiled slightly. “Because the you now is no longer that greedy and wicked Shadow Demon King but a Magical Girl of love and miracles.”
“Love and miracles? Magical Girl?” Elrose’s cheeks twitched slightly. “What is this overwhelming sense of shame?”
“Shame? Oh, that’s just your illusion,” the Evil God said with a laugh.
“Alright, the questioning period ends here; let’s not waste time. I really don’t have much time left.”
“Not much time left?” Elrose’s eyes shifted. “Are you dying?”
“You’re the one who’s dying,” the Evil God couldn’t help but retort. “What I mean is, my time to meet you like this face-to-face is limited; after all, I am a deity, and it’s against regulations to communicate with you directly like this.”
“Oh, so that’s how it is. Then why didn’t you clarify earlier?”
“Okay, okay, mine, mine,” the Evil God sighed.
“Alright, I’ve explained everything I need to. Now we should begin the main business.”
“Main business?” Elrose asked, confused.
“Yes, the main business.” The Evil God smiled. “Magical Girl, tutorial for beginners.”
As he spoke, the Evil God waved his hand, and a phantom screen appeared in front of Elrose.
On the screen were two elderly people, Joy and Roderick, both over sixty years old. They sat quietly in front of their house, gazing up at the silver meteor that was about to fall.
Seeing this scene, Elrose’s heart jumped to her throat.
Damn it, where is that hero?
If he doesn’t come out soon, even the residual waves from shattering the Star of Ruin could take Joy’s life.
Just then, a pillar of black fire shot up into the sky, heading straight for the Star of Ruin.
Elrose’s eyes went wide.
That wasn’t the hero, but a petite girl with silver hair.
She wielded a pitch-black giant sword and crashed into the Star of Ruin with an unstoppable momentum, instantly shattering it into pieces.
A terrifying shockwave swept across the ground, and without hesitation, Roderick shielded Joy with his body.
After rolling a few times, the two elders finally came to a stop.
At that moment, the Star of Ruin was no longer visible; only a few tiny fragments transformed into beautiful shooting stars, gently falling.
Seeing this, Elrose suddenly recalled something.
That title, “The Girl Who Shattered Stars.”
Elrose came to a realization.
It turned out that the one who saved Mornhart and saved Joy was not that foolish hero.
It was me.
