Chapter 444

Chapter: 444

While Phebe was shaking off the Evil God’s aura from the two forest masters, I started sharing with my friends why I came here.

“I came here because that useless, pathetic god begged me for help, and honestly, you all look like a bunch of losers who couldn’t handle it. So, I thought I’d call in some perverts who are itching to get stomped by me.”

I mentioned that I received a divine revelation directly from the god.

I had to hide the details, fearing things might get dangerous.

But that doesn’t mean I bravely threw myself into danger—I brought people along who could help.

Listening to the words spilling out thanks to my mesugaki skill, it was hard not to think my credibility was slipping.

After all, who would believe someone surrendering to a so-called “useless god” had actually received a divine message?

Anyone would think I was just some crazy girl babbling nonsense!

“A revelation, huh.”

“It would’ve been nice if you had given us a heads-up about it.”

But my friends reacted completely differently than I expected. Not a single doubt crossed their minds about my so-called divine revelation.

Confused by their nonchalant attitudes, Joy chuckled lightly.

“Young Lady, you’re a Holy Knight recognized by Phebe. What’s strange about receiving a revelation?”

Is that so? Well, but still…

“You weren’t chosen as an apostle by the god, so receiving a revelation is perfectly plausible.”

“Exactly. That god doesn’t discriminate.”

…Uh. Well. I am technically a perverted god’s apostle.

Ah, whatever.

If there’s no need to convince them, great for me.

Let’s just brush this off.

“Young Lady.”

“…Yeah? What’s up, you airhead?”

“Weren’t you scared?”

“Pfft. You think I’d be scared of these pathetic trash? They’re nothing but easy targets.”

“Is that not the first revelation you received?”

“I figured it wasn’t just a one-time deal. There have been times more dangerous than this one.”

“How unfair. I like dangerous situations too, you know.”

As my friends exchanged glances filled with a mix of worry, pity, and a hint of anger, it made my heart tingle.

“Guys.”

Not knowing how to respond, I hesitated, and then the perverted apostle chimed in.

“Don’t worry. Lady Alrn is stronger than you think.”

“Have you worked together before, Prète?”

Joy asked politely, to which the perverted apostle nodded with a smile.

“More like I received one-sided help. If Lady Alrn hadn’t saved me, I wouldn’t be standing here.”

As the esteemed perverted apostle expressed his sincere gratitude, admiration sparkled in my friends’ eyes.

Overwhelmed by the intense atmosphere, I made my escape under the guise of helping Phebe.

“I’ll accept your goodwill, Lady. We’re almost finished.”

Phebe began the healing process, and not long after, the two forest masters had almost regained their original forms.

At this rate, they seemed to be back to what they looked like on the other side of the monitor.

Perhaps it was because she had rapidly grown into a true saint?

As I pondered this in admiration, a bashful smile spread across Phebe’s face.

“It was easy to heal these two thanks to you, Lady. Your divine presence significantly weakened the Evil God’s power during the battle.”

…Well, that’s still impressive, isn’t it? If I had to deal with them on my own, they wouldn’t look this decent.

[Shouldn’t we be worried about their forms being intact?]
‘Not that bad?! Does being an apostle of the god seem worthless to you?!’

It’s true that I’m not as proficient in manipulating sacred powers as Phebe, but I could definitely handle a decent priest!

While I was getting irritated at my gramps joking around, Phebe announced she was done.

[Your friends are right. They’ll wake up after some rest.]

After hearing my grandfather’s assurance, I grabbed a bear’s leg and pulled it.

The bear’s hefty body was heavy, but not enough to stop me from moving it.

Thinking about the rigorous training I did at the Alrn Knight Order, this was nothing.

I asked the others to go fetch some wood and came out of the dungeon, just as the thick smell of blood wafted past my nose.

“Welcome back, Young Lady. I’ve completed the tasks you ordered.”

– The knight is correct. There are no more users of black magic lingering here.

Before the knife could proudly conclude his statement, Adria, who stood behind him, verified his words.

Listening to their exchange and looking around, I saw the Clumsy Fox smoking and Muir anxiously tapping his arms. Also, there was Visi, whose face turned pale.

Visi’s expression, looking like she was about to vomit any second, confirmed that what had happened in the forest was no light matter.

“…What in the world! Helin! Are you alright?!”

“Mutt, do your ears and eyes serve as mere decoration? What is there to worry about this bear?”

“Thank you so much! Lady Alrn! I regret doubting you when you entered the dungeon! How shall I repay this kindness!”

“Now’s not the time to be celebrating, though. Mutt?”

“…Huh?”

“There’s one more behind me.”

As I said that with a smile, the giant tree stepped through the dungeon door.

Muir, who was staring blankly, turned red around the eyes and eventually broke down in tears.

*

Visi was experiencing what it truly meant to feel suffocated in real-time.

“So, Young Lady Alrn, you asked for help voluntarily?”

“That was more of a one-sided command, really.”

“Is it true that Lucy Alrn has the ability to draw in others? I’m envious.”

“It’s not that my abilities are extraordinary. Um.”

“That’s strange. You seem weak. Where’s your strength? Should I throw down with you to find out?”

“…Please, no. I beg you.”

Just moments ago, the friends Lucy had exited the dungeon with, couldn’t hold back their sarcasm at the fact that Visi was chosen over them.

Not being entirely good-hearted, their words were half-playful and half-serious, but for Visi, it felt like a kind of torment.

Being from a nameless noble family, their playful jabs from a prince, a duke’s lady, and an earl’s lady felt like stones thrown at a frog.

It would have been better fighting those black magicians in the forest. At least back then, I felt uneasy but lighter in spirit!

“Everyone. Visi is having a tough time.”

Phebe interjected in an attempt to calm everyone down, but Visi’s heart only grew heavier in the presence of Phebe’s smile.

As a black magician, Visi felt Phebe resembled a reaper from reality.

The moment she spoke, it was doom for me and my entire family!

My stomach. My stomach hurts.

It felt like there was a hole in my belly!

While Visi was almost physically feeling her life being drained away, Lucy stood in the middle of the forest.

She claimed there was still one last task to accomplish in the forest.

“That foolish bear got beaten up by some shady folks, and now a foul atmosphere has spread throughout this entire forest. If we leave it like this, worse than butterflies, even the grandmas here might get tangled up!”

As Lucy pointed at Adria while explaining, Muir nodded in agreement. He had witnessed just how polluted the forest remained after dealing with the black magicians still lurking around.

If left unchecked, the chances of the forest owner reviving were slim, and far worse, the forest’s owner could lose their powers.

“What should we do?”

Muir asked solemnly, addressing Lucy.

So far, she had shown miracles beyond imagination.

She had accomplished what Muir thought was impossible without breaking a sweat.

With the trust he’d built up after rescuing the two forest masters, Muir was fully ready to hear whatever Lucy had to say.

Gazing upon Muir’s serious expression, Lucy stifled a laugh and extended her hand forward.

Not having a clue what this meant, Muir tilted his head, only to see Lucy click her tongue lightly.

“This is why lowly mutts are troublesome. If I extend my hand, you’re supposed to raise yours. What kind of education is that?”

Muir’s eyes trembled at the humiliation to put his pride aside and obey, but ultimately, he bit his lip firmly and extended his hand.

However, his hand never reached Lucy.

The moment he reached out, Lucy withdrew her hand with a smirk.

“Why are you making that face? There’s no way I’d accept the hand of a lowly mutt. There’s a difference in levels, you know?”

“…Oh.”

“Puhah! Don’t worry. I actually found joy in your pathetic pride. So I’ll help you out just this once.”

As Muir’s face flushed deeply while he nervously bit his lip, Lucy stood in the middle of the forest. Taking a deep breath, she kept her hands neatly clasped against her chest.

Then, light began to rise from her being.

“Useless god. Are you watching? If it were you—the pathetic pervert—I’d expect you to be sniffing for my sweat by now.”

With a tone that was neither reverent nor appropriate, mixed with a playful chuckle, she continued.

“I’ll tolerate your perverted antics for a bit, so hand over the divine power. Surely you have at least that much of a conscience, being a god.”

Her irreverent words somehow only intensified the sacred energy radiating from her.

“Hmph. Such a perverted bastard.”

As her retorts mixed with laughter, she closed her eyes, and the sacred energy etched itself into the lifeless earth beneath her.

A miracle from the god was about to begin with the girl named Lucy Alrn as the catalyst.
