Chapter 19: Obtaining the Videotape
Yeyun Ye dragged her suitcase, wandering the streets in a daze, unsure of where to go.
She walked aimlessly until she grew tired. Finding a bench, she sat down and stared blankly ahead, pondering: she should feel relieved after the divorce, so why did her heart still ache so profoundly?
Her thoughts were interrupted by her phone ringing. Yeyun Ye glanced at the caller ID and saw it was Yuxun Xia. She answered.
“What’s wrong, Yuxun?”
Yuxun Xia, hearing her weak voice, couldn’t help but worry, “Where are you?”
Yeyun Ye gave him an address and hung up the phone.
Shortly after, Yuxun Xia appeared before her. Seeing her sitting on the bench with a suitcase beside her, he understood.
“Come to my place,” he said, taking her suitcase and gesturing for her to follow.
Yeyun Ye, exhausted, followed Yuxun Xia home.
The next morning, she woke up to find Yuxun Xia busy in the kitchen.
Glancing at the clock, she wondered if he wasn’t supposed to be at work by now. Why was he still at home? Suspicious, she approached him and asked, “Yuxun, are you not working today?”
Yuxun Xia paused his movements and replied, “Oh, I have the day off.”
Seeing him like this, Yeyun Ye didn’t believe a word of it.
She walked to the balcony, away from Yuxun Xia, and called the head nurse from his hospital ward.
“Hello, Sister Zhang? I wanted to ask if something happened with Yuxun’s work?”
Sister Zhang paused for a moment before replying, “Yeyun, I’m not entirely clear on this. I only know that a certain patron at the top ordered all hospitals not to hire Doctor Xia, so he was fired. Sigh, I don’t know who he offended…”
“I understand, thank you, Sister Zhang.” Yeyun Ye hung up, her hand clutching her mobile phone. Xiuqi Chi, what more do you want from me… Yeyun Ye closed her eyes, as if making a resolute decision, and turned back to the living room.
“Yuxun, I suddenly have something to attend to. I’m going out.” Without waiting for his reply, she grabbed her bag and left.
“Miss Ye, you are no longer an employee of our company. Director Chi ordered that you do not have the right to enter,” Yeyun Ye argued with the security guard at the entrance of the company building.
“Let me see Xiuqi Chi.” Yeyun Ye spoke, trying to push past the security guard who was blocking her. However, she saw Xiuqi Chi descending from the elevator and quickly released the guard, running towards Xiuqi Chi.
“Xiuqi Chi, you don’t need to involve anyone else in our affairs,” Yeyun Ye blocked his path, looking up at him.
“Are you angry with me? Yeyun Ye, who gave you the audacity to block MY path?” Xiuqi Chi grabbed Yeyun Ye’s wrist, dragging her all the way to the underground parking lot, opened the car door, and threw her into the passenger seat.
“What are you doing?” Yeyun Ye struggled to get up but was pinned down by Xiuqi Chi, her voice rising in anger.
“Don’t you want to question me?” Xiuqi Chi pressed down on her fiercely, continuing, “If you want answers, then stop resisting.”
Hearing this, Yeyun Ye gave up struggling and calmed down, complying with Xiuqi Chi’s wishes.
Seeing her like this, Xiuqi Chi couldn’t help but think it was because of Yuxun Xia. His annoyance grew, and he roughly released her arm. He got into the car and instructed the driver to head to his villa.
Upon arriving, he dragged Yeyun Ye into the villa.
“Let me go!” Yeyun Ye shook off his hand with all her might. “Why did you make Yuxun lose his job? Our business has nothing to do with him!” she shouted at Xiuqi Chi.
Xiuqi Chi’s eyes narrowed dangerously as he saw her defending Yuxun Xia. He approached her step by step, “I told you, if you dare to do this again, his life will be far from easy!”
Yeyun Ye stepped back as he approached, her foot catching on a coffee table. She had nowhere else to retreat.
Seeing her predicament, Xiuqi Chi stepped forward and grasped her chin. The skin on Yeyun Ye’s chin quickly turned white as she was forced to look up at him.
“I gave you money, not to find other men. Since you’re so eager to leave me, do you think I’ll let you both off easy?” Xiuqi Chi stared at her, speaking each word deliberately.
“You’re despicable and shameless!” Yeyun Ye yelled in anger, her eyes red as she glared at Xiuqi Chi.
Xiuqi Chi looked at her hateful gaze and felt an unpleasant sensation. He grabbed her and dragged her into the bedroom.
“What are you doing? Let me go!” Yeyun Ye tried to break free from Xiuqi Chi’s grasp, but no matter how hard she struggled, she couldn’t. She was dragged into the bedroom.
In the bedroom, Xiuqi Chi threw Yeyun Ye onto the bed and lunged forward, forcefully kissing her. He intended to punish her and teach her a lesson, but Yeyun Ye, sensing his intentions, kept backing away.
“Don’t come near me!” Yeyun Ye shouted as she retreated.
Xiuqi Chi straightened up, looking at her disheveled hair and her resistant eyes. His interest vanished. He let out a cold laugh, turned, and slammed the door shut as he left.
Meanwhile, Jingxian Xiang, upon hearing that Xiuqi Chi had signed the divorce agreement, should have been happy, but instead, she was furiously throwing a tantrum in her room.

Elsewhere, at the Xiang Family home.
“You good-for-nothing Yeyun Ye! So you divorced and left, but you still dare to extort money from Xiuqi!” She angrily picked up a cup from the table and smashed it on the floor. Only after doing so did her mood slightly calm down.
She made a phone call. A few minutes later, she hung up, a smug grin on her face. “Since you’re so ungrateful, I’ll let you taste what it’s like to be scorned by everyone!!”
After Xiuqi Chi left, Yeyun Ye composed herself and returned to Yuxun Xia’s apartment.
Ding dong, ding dong, ding dong. Yeyun Ye was awakened by a barrage of text messages. She opened her phone and saw a message from Yuxun Xia: “Yeyun, I’m not feeling well and I’m in the hospital. You can stay at my place for now.”
Upon seeing this, Yeyun Ye quickly got up, washed up, and rushed to Yuxun Xia’s hospital.
On the way, she was pointed at and whispered about: “Is that her?”
“It is!”
“Tsk tsk, she looks so innocent, but I didn’t expect her to ruin someone’s relationship!”
“I heard she demanded money to leave after she was found out.”
“Exactly, you can’t judge a book by its cover.”
These voices naturally reached Yeyun Ye’s ears. On her way, she had seen reports about herself on Weibo and various media outlets.
Without needing to think, she knew who was responsible, but at this point, she no longer cared.
Yeyun Ye arrived at Yuxun Xia’s hospital room and took care of him until evening.
“It’s nothing serious, just a stomach ailment. You should go back; you don’t need to look after me,” Yuxun Xia said, watching Yeyun Ye busy herself by his side, urging her to leave.
Seeing his firm tone, Yeyun Ye stopped what she was doing, gave him a few instructions, and left the hospital.
On the way, she recalled her conversation with Jingxian Xiang that day, remembering Jingxian’s agitated state. What had she heard that caused such a sudden and drastic change in her mood?
Suddenly, Yeyun Ye stopped. The Ye Family, that’s it! Before, no matter what was said, she had remained calm, only becoming agitated when the Ye Family was mentioned!
This must be related! Once Yeyun Ye figured it out, she hailed a car and headed to Sheng’an Welfare Institute.
Upon arriving at the welfare institute, Yeyun Ye thought for a moment and decided not to enter through the front door. Instead, she entered through the back, quietly evaded the staff, and made her way to the director’s office.
Although the welfare institute had been shut down recently due to Uncle Ye, it had reopened with renewed funding from the Chi Family.
She didn’t turn on the lights, using her mobile phone’s light to search the office. She was looking for the files from when she and Jingxian Xiang were sent to the welfare institute. She spotted a locked drawer. Approaching it, she tried to pull it open but couldn’t. Recalling her memory, she found a toolbox in the office and took out a hammer, quickly breaking the lock.
Opening it, she found two file folders and a videotape. Shining her light, she confirmed they were the files for Jingxian Xiang and herself. She put them in her bag and quietly left the welfare institute…
