Chapter 2: Who is the Mistress?
At first, Jingxian Xiang was playful and only wanted to marry into wealth. She was unwilling to marry Xiuqi Chi in her prime and live a quiet life.
Therefore, she personally orchestrated the car accident and the switch of brides, all for the sake of staying abroad for a few more years.
Now, she had played enough and returned. She had also learned that Xiuqi Chi was worth a fortune, and that he had used his own means to elevate the Chi Family to the leading position in the capital over the past three years. Naturally, she was tempted.
Upon hearing this, Jingxian Xiang’s face was filled with sorrow. “I knew I shouldn’t have come back. Xiuqi, since that’s the case, I’ll leave then…”
“Don’t go!” Xiuqi Chi’s reluctance was undeniable in his voice.
He took Jingxian Xiang’s hand and smiled slightly. “No one can take me away. Some people are just wasting their energy and making a fool of themselves.”
She had no way to refute him. Xiuqi Chi’s love for Jingxian Xiang was blatant, known to the world.
Yeyun Ye supported herself as she stood up, wanting to say a few more words to Xiuqi Chi. However, she heard Jingxian Xiang quickly send him away.
“Xiuqi, you wait for me outside. I have some private matters to discuss with her.”
“Okay, I’ll be in the hallway. Call me if you need anything.” Xiuqi Chi dotingly stroked Jingxian Xiang’s head and walked out.
Jingxian Xiang cast aside her pitiable demeanor, reverting to her usual arrogant and overbearing self. “I know you two have done everything you should have in eight years. Yeyun Ye, you should be satisfied by now.”
“I want the position of Mrs. Xiuqi Chi, so you must divorce him.”
“I will not divorce you, Jingxian Xiang, unless I’m dead!” Yeyun Ye, away from Xiuqi Chi, returned to her capable and composed demeanor from the workplace.
“Yeyun Ye, I’ll give you three days to move out of this house and divorce Xiuqi Chi obediently.”
Jingxian Xiang’s face turned cold as she issued Yeyun Ye an ultimatum, her tone filled with threats.
After Jingxian Xiang left, Yeyun Ye looked at the house that had been neglected for three years and couldn’t help but feel a pang of sorrow.
Regardless of whether she divorced or not, she couldn’t stay in this house anymore. Yeyun Ye packed her meager belongings and began searching for a new place.
Yeyun Ye had only requested a single day off from the hospital. Naturally, she had to be at work on time the next day.
“Little Ye, get Mr. Chi to sign this before the lunch break and bring it back to me.” No one in the company knew about the relationship between Xiuqi Chi and Yeyun Ye. They only knew that Yeyun Ye was a woman whom Mr. Chi disliked, so she always put on a cold front for him.
Yeyun Ye acknowledged the instruction.
The supervisor needed it urgently, so she went to get the signatures early to put her mind at ease.
“Mr. Chi, please sign this document.”
“From now on, have someone else from your department deliver these documents.” Xiuqi Chi said without looking up.
Yeyun Ye’s heart skipped a beat upon hearing this, and she involuntarily replied, “Why?”
As soon as she finished speaking, she saw him frown, clearly displeased. “Because I don’t want to see your face.”
Yeyun Ye sneered. Her face looked exactly like Jingxian Xiang’s. Xiuqi Chi simply didn’t want to see herself.
She had no choice but to leave. As Yeyun Ye turned, she bumped into Jingxian Xiang.
Jingxian Xiang glanced at her and leaned against the doorway, saying, “Xiuqi, why didn’t you mention that Yeyun works here?”
Seeing Jingxian Xiang arrive, Xiuqi Chi put down his work and personally led her to the sofa.
“The old man arranged for her to join the company since she didn’t have a job. It’s been a while.”
She picked up the signed report. Seeing how intimate they looked, Yeyun Ye felt a sudden pain in her chest and didn’t want to stay any longer. She prepared to leave the office.
“Miss Ye. As the ex-wife, it’s not appropriate to continue working here.”
“What do you mean by that?” Yeyun Ye was stunned for a moment.
Was it not enough that Jingxian Xiang had driven her out of her home, leaving her with nowhere to go? Did she now intend to cut off her only source of income?
“Jingxian Xiang, do you remember you are my biological sister?” she asked, her voice tinged with desolation, which sounded somewhat ridiculous at that moment.
They were indeed twin sisters. Jingxian Xiang was fortunate to be adopted by the wealthy Xiang family at a young age, cultivating the habits of a rich young lady and causing a lot of trouble. It was then that the Xiang family adopted Yeyun Ye, who was already grown, to take on Jingxian Xiang’s identity and clean up her messes.

“Since Jingxian has spoken, you should resign,” Xiuqi Chi said, avoiding Yeyun Ye’s disappointed gaze.
“If you agree to divorce, you can collect a quarter’s severance pay from finance. And the conditions I promised you before still stand.”
Yeyun Ye had come to the office without eating breakfast. She had already felt a pain in her chest earlier, and standing there for so long now made her feel dizzy.
Sensing her discomfort, she didn’t want to prolong the entanglement and turned to leave.
Yeyun Ye walked out of the office and found Jingxian Xiang following her.
“I hope you understand that I’m letting you leave this company with your dignity intact out of sisterly regard.”
“I don’t care what Xiuqi Chi promised you. I have a company abroad. You can go there, and it will ensure you a comfortable life for the rest of your days.”
Before Yeyun Ye could respond, the conditions bombarded her mind like a rapid-fire series of shots.
She stopped to rest for a moment and then went directly back to her workstation.
However, in Jingxian Xiang’s eyes, this was interpreted as a refusal to communicate and an act of disregard for her.
Xiuqi Chi, who was in his office, thought about Yeyun Ye’s expression just now and felt inexplicably agitated. He tugged at his tie, stood up, and prepared to leave his office.
When he stepped out, he saw Jingxian Xiang following Yeyun Ye. Jingxian Xiang also noticed Xiuqi Chi’s presence from her peripheral vision.
“Yeyun Ye, why are you humiliating me like this?” As soon as she spoke, Jingxian Xiang feigned dizziness and seemed about to collapse. Fortunately, Xiuqi Chi rushed forward and caught her.
This action caused a stir among the office employees.
Has Mr. Chi found a woman?
It was rumored that Mr. Chi was deeply in love with someone. So, it was the woman who fainted. But her face… why was it identical to Yeyun Ye from the company?
“Jingxian, how are you?”
“I was only trying to be kind and invited Yeyun to my branch in the Netherlands…”
