As the photographer pressed the shutter button, a blinding flash of fire erupted from the camera.
The explosion came so suddenly that only two people could react.
One was Hero, and the other was the Demon King residing in the Heart of Shadow.
The raging flames rushed towards them, and without transformation, Elrose’s body was no different from that of an ordinary person; being caught in this explosion would undoubtedly lead to her death.
But in the next moment, a flash of black light appeared from the shadows, and a powerful dark mana rose up automatically, forming a barrier around Elrose.
Boom!
The flames instantly engulfed Elrose and pierced through the walls of the room. The strong shockwave sent Elrose flying hundreds of meters through the air before she crashed hard to the ground.
Elrose fainted instantly.
At that moment, two figures slowly walked in front of Elrose; they were the culprits behind this explosion, the guildmaster of the Black Wind Thieves Guild, the infamous twin thieves, Bell and Beck.
Wow, not bad, this little girl, she didn’t get blown to pieces even at such close range. Bell grinned, revealing his white teeth, and slowly approached, directly removing the Ocean’s Heart from Elrose’s chest, inspecting it carefully for a moment.
Hmm~, not bad, this is indeed the real Ocean’s Heart. Bell tucked the Ocean’s Heart into his bag. “Alright, Beck, we’ve got the goods, let’s retreat.”
“Brother, wait a minute.” Beck looked at the stunning silver-haired girl on the ground, swallowing hard. “Brother, I think I’ve fallen in love.”
“Fallen in love?” Brother Bell paused for a moment, then immediately reacted and burst into laughter. “What kind of love are you talking about? You’re just lusting after her body, how shameless.”
“Yes, yes, yes, I’m shameless, so can I take her back as my wife?” Beck said with a silly grin.
“Of course, my dear brother, but…” Bell smiled and then took out a metal collar from his pocket and placed it around Elrose’s neck. “This girl has a strong mana presence, she’s probably a mage. Just in case, let’s put a magic-binding collar on her, that way you can do whatever you want.”
“Mhm, mhm, mhm.” Beck nodded. “Thank you, brother, you’re the best.”
Saying this, Beck directly hoisted Elrose onto his shoulder and left with Bell.
Unbeknownst to them, their malicious intent had targeted Elrose, awakening something they should not have provoked.
Now, “Death” had quietly positioned itself behind them.
The Shadow Demon stood behind them, glaring with scarlet eyes, fixated on them.
Having sealed her mana, Elrose was no different from an ordinary girl. He certainly couldn’t allow Elrose to fall into danger; he was about to strike down these two ignorant human beings.
With huge claws extending, a powerful psychic energy surged forth in an instant.
This power was immense enough to crush the heads of these two Saint Tier Experts in an instant.
But, in the next moment.
A silver figure suddenly appeared beside the Shadow Demon, reaching out a small hand to gently grab the Shadow Demon’s claw, stopping the psychic attack.
“What are you doing?” The Shadow Demon glared at the white-haired boy beside him, visibly irritated.
The boy smiled and shook his head, looking at the Shadow Demon with his charmingly wicked eyes. “We shouldn’t interfere too much with her; we only need to assist her at a critical moment.”
The Shadow Demon frowned, slightly displeased as he replied, “It’s just a distraction, yet you sound just like that guy.”
“Hehe, alright, alright, Lord Demon King, you can rest now; I’ll handle things here.” The boy smiled. “After all… guiding her is my duty as a cultivation system.”
“Fine.” The Shadow Demon paused and then said, “But there’s one thing I must tell you in advance.”
The boy smiled. “Go ahead.”
The Shadow Demon stepped closer to the boy, his scarlet eyes wide open, looking down at him with overwhelming pressure.
“This is our territory. If you dare to take advantage of your divinity and do anything out of line, I will turn you to ash in an instant.”
In the pitch-black, cold cage, Elrose, dressed in a princess dress, slowly opened her eyes.
“Where… am I?”
In a foggy haze, Elrose instinctively tried to get up, only to find her hands bound tightly by chains.
“What the hell is going on?”
Without thinking much, Elrose channeled her mana, attempting to break the chains. But in the next moment.
“Ahhh!”
A tremendous pain surged from her neck, and Elrose let out a cry of anguish.
“What the hell.” Elrose reached up to touch her neck, where an icy sensation immediately hit her.
There was something around her neck.
Gritting her teeth, Elrose suddenly extended her hand, trying to rip the collar off her neck.
However, without transformation, how could her strength possibly bend that collar made of alloy steel?
“Hah, hah, hah…” Elrose gasped for breath, exerting all her effort, yet she couldn’t budge the collar at all.
“Ah, there’s nothing I can do.” Elrose sighed lightly, then took a deep breath, focused her mind, and began chanting that ancient spell once more.
“Greater than black, darker than darkness, O fearsome Demon King, abide by the covenant with the divine, grant thy great power…”
A more intense pain shot through her neck, and Elrose collapsed to the ground, twitching uncontrollably.
At this point, Elrose finally started to understand what the thing around her neck was.
It had to be a magic-binding device.
As soon as it detected mana circulation, it would generate an intense feeling of pain to forcibly interrupt the mana flow, preventing the bound individual from using magic.
A faint sense of despair emerged in her heart.
She remembered she was originally taking photos at Aotlan, and then she didn’t know what happened; she was tied up and had a magic-binding device put on her.
What the hell is going on? Can someone explain this?
“Hey, of course.”
In an instant, a childish voice rang in Elrose’s ears. She turned around abruptly and saw a familiar figure standing by the cage wall, smiling at her.
Elrose’s expression instantly froze as she looked at the boy before her in disbelief.
Short white hair, purple eyes, and a strange red makeup at the corner of his eyes.
His smile remained as enchanting as ever.
“Evil God,” Elrose gasped, her eyes widening. “Why are you here (in the real world)?”
