135. Lulu
“Hah, hah, hah.”
Elrose ran several kilometers in one breath and finally found the Aotlan Chamber of Commerce. She gasped for air, looking up at the magnificent white building before her, unable to help but exclaim, “Wow, this store is decorated nicely.”
Previously, while working at a restaurant, she had heard adventurers discussing that the Aotlan Chamber of Commerce was the wealthiest merchant organization in the human realm. From daily necessities to weapon shops, and from food and drinks to high-level potions, anything available in other shops could surely be found here, and perhaps items not available elsewhere could be sold here.
Behind it, the Aotlan Family was reputed to be the richest family in the human realm, with numerous industries spanning almost every field except politics, making them immeasurably wealthy.
Elrose slowly walked into the building, greeted by a dazzling array of products and a thick crowd of people.
“Isn’t there a bit too many people here?” Elrose muttered, twitching her lips.
“Well, it can’t be helped. After all, the Kriisa Ship is setting sail tonight,” a soft voice suddenly chimed in.
Elrose slowly turned her head to see a girl in green robes about her age smiling at her.
“The Kriisa Ship will go west along the Tobiler River, passing through several major cities. Adventurers, travelers, and merchants on board will most likely choose to…”
The girl in green continued her explanation.
“Who are you?” Elrose furrowed her brows, a bit confused.
The girl’s eyes turned, and she smiled slightly, “I’m Lulu, just an employee here.”
“Oh, so you’re an employee.” Elrose relaxed her guard and asked hurriedly, “Where’s the dessert shop? I’m here to buy ice cream.”
Lulu wore a standard commercial smile on her face, “The dessert shop is on the third floor, dear customer.”
“Oh, got it.” Elrose immediately dashed towards the stairs.
Watching Elrose’s departing figure, Lulu smiled slightly, “This child looks quite nice. If I could have her model the Ocean’s Heart, it would look particularly beautiful.” Saying that, Lulu stepped forward and slowly followed Elrose towards the stairs.
Exquisite cakes, colorful snacks, and various kinds of ice cream. Standing in front of the Aotlan dessert shop’s counter, Elrose felt like she was about to be moved to tears by hunger.
But the problem was…
Elrose turned her head and looked at the long line ahead of her, feeling somewhat desperate, “Heavens, how long will I have to wait in line?”
Elrose’s heart immediately began to race.
Damn, it’s just too much; I, the great Demon King, have to queue for ice cream like a mere human.
Kill all the people in line, and then I can eat the ice cream right away.
A cruel light shone in Elrose’s eyes.
Then…
She simply stood at the end of the line and obediently started waiting.
An hour and a half later…
Elrose crossed her arms, her little feet tapping the floor continuously, her fair, delicate face flushed with impatience.
Finally, the person in front of her got their snack.
Elrose suddenly took a step forward, rose onto her toes, leaned over the counter, and excitedly pointed at the rainbow ice cream on the sign with her right hand, shouting, “Miss, I want that one.”
The staff member looked in the direction of Elrose’s finger, “Little sister, do you want the rainbow ice cream?”
“Yes!” Elrose’s eyes sparkled with excitement.
Ice cream, ice cream, my rainbow ice cream.
After waiting over an hour, I finally…
“Did you make a reservation?”
“Huh?” Elrose trembled all over, “Um, reservation… what does that mean?”
“This ice cream is limited in quantity, and you need to reserve it in advance to buy it,” the counter miss patiently explained.
“Snap!” Elrose was instantly petrified.
Re-reservation…
I ran several kilometers and waited over an hour in line, and you tell me I need a reservation?!
Are you all trying to get yourselves killed?!
Elrose gritted her teeth fiercely.
Since I’ve come here today, I must eat that rainbow ice cream.
If you don’t give it to me, don’t blame me for being rude!!!
Elrose’s magic surged, and she suddenly glared at the counter miss.
The counter miss was startled and immediately trembled as she said, “Little sister, why are you crying?”
“I… I… hmph.”
Elrose sniffled a couple of times, wiped the tears magically conjured on her face, and pretended to look pitiful, “Miss, I really really want to eat that ice cream. Please sell me one, I beg you.”
[Skill: Tear of the Beautiful Girl]
Seeing the crying beautiful girl before her, the softest part of the counter miss’s heart was instantly touched; however, she still held back and tried her best to persuade, “Um, little sister, this ice cream is already reserved by someone else. If you eat it, others won’t have it. How about you make a reservation for tomorrow instead? You can order some other desserts today; our shop has other delicious treats too.”
“But I’m leaving tomorrow…” Elrose looked at the staff member with teary eyes, pleadingly, “Miss, I beg you, please sell me that ice cream. I can compensate you for it.”
[Skill: Pitiful Encounter]
Not knowing if it was an illusion, the counter miss felt a faint halo appear around Elrose, making it truly hard to refuse her request.
The counter miss swallowed hard, “Well… if it’s… then, just this once, let it be a special case?”
“Thank you, Miss!” Elrose’s eyes immediately sparkled with light.
Sure enough, no one can resist my adorable charm.
But at that moment.
“No, she can’t have that ice cream.”
A familiar voice rang out, and Elrose turned around to see the girl in green who had guided her earlier standing nearby, gently watching them.
The counter miss was startled and quickly stepped out from the counter, very respectfully saying, “Miss Lulu.”
Lulu subtly nodded, “If it’s something reserved by a customer, it cannot be given to another. Doing so would affect the chamber’s reputation.”
“I’m sorry, Miss Lulu, I know I was wrong,” the counter miss apologized repeatedly.
“It’s okay, just this once. But…” she then turned her gaze toward Elrose, a sly smile appearing on her lips, “Dear customer, do you really want that rainbow ice cream? I have a little task; do you want to chat with me about it?”
