133.5 Intermission 2: Turbulent Tides
On the pitch-black streets, a delicate carriage sped by, driven by a woman whose beauty resembled that of an ethereal being.
“Fifth, what’s wrong? What are you looking at?” On the street, two figures in black, one tall and one short, suddenly halted.
“Oh, it’s nothing, Boss,” one of the figures slowly replied. “It was just that carriage that just passed by. I know the person sitting in it and have a bit of a connection with her.”
“Is that so?” The Boss said with interest. “What? Are you thinking of going on a wonderful date with that lady?”
“Haha, don’t joke around, Boss,” the Fifth chuckled lightly. “Right now, matters of religion are the priority. As for that lady… I just have a feeling we’ll meet again in the future.”
“Mm, good awareness.” The Boss nodded lightly. “After all, our masters’ orders are the most important, and everything else should be set aside for now.”
“Understood.” The Fifth replied softly. “By the way, Boss, how much do you think our masters’ speculation is true — that famed Golden Dragon Hero has truly lost all his power?”
“Our masters have their basis for speculating, and the reason they sent us here is precisely to verify their viewpoint,” the Boss replied slowly. “We need to find someone who has recently seen the Golden Dragon Hero and extract some clues from his memories.”
The Fifth nodded slowly and walked along the straight bluestone path for a moment until he arrived at a solemn building.
“Hey, Boss, we’ve arrived,” he said softly.
The Boss slowly raised his head, and on the plaque of the solemn building were written six large characters —
— Karashok Prison.
The guard at the entrance, having observed the two strangely acting individuals, approached them with a weapon drawn and inquired, “Who are you?”
“We?” From beneath the black cloak, the Boss smiled slightly. “We are the salvation of the world.”
As he spoke, the Boss snapped his fingers, and a strange spiritual fluctuation emanated, causing all the guards to fall unconscious to the ground.
“Boss, your psychic power has truly become increasingly grand.”
“Haha, it’s just average, average.”
The two exchanged a knowing smile, then stepped over all the slumbering guards and slowly made their way down the corridor, reaching the deepest part of the prison.
At this moment, a handsome man was leisurely sitting cross-legged on the large bed in his cell.
This man was Lancelot.
Lancelot slowly opened his eyes, glanced at the guards in front of the cell who had suddenly fallen asleep, and then looked at the two suspicious figures in black, lightly saying, “Did you knock out these guards?”
“Yes,” the Fifth stepped forward slowly, arriving in front of the cell. “Thug Sword Saint, Lancelot Griffin, my masters request your presence.”
“Hmph, what a joke. I don’t even know which house you belong to, so why would I go with you?” Lancelot replied coldly.
“Ah, how rude of me. I nearly forgot to introduce myself,” the Fifth said as he stepped forward, removing his cloak to reveal a pale face.
He placed one hand on his chest and bowed slightly. “I am Rodney Devon, Fifth Priest of the Witch Church, here at the behest of the Lady Witch to invite Mr. Lancelot to the Witch Church…”
“Crack!”
Before Rodney could finish his introduction, a sharp sword light flashed, and his head instantly rolled off his neck like a ball.
Blood spurted out, staining the ceiling red.
Lancelot, holding the sword known as Slashing Seven Stars, looked coldly at the headless corpse in front of him: “I think you’ve mistaken something. I may not be a good person, but at least I am from the Lionheart Sword Saint’s lineage. You, the scum from the Witch Church, dare to prance before me? You’re asking for death.”
“Roar, is that so?”
A leisurely voice echoed, and from the shadow behind Rodney’s headless body, another Rodney Devon slowly stepped out.
“Demon and evil path,” Lancelot’s eyes glinted coldly as he shouted, gripping the hilt of his sword and preparing to strike again.
But in the next moment.
A bizarre spiritual fluctuation surged into Lancelot’s mind, making him feel as if his entire body had sunk; the Slashing Seven Stars in his hand became unbearably heavy, and he couldn’t wield it at all.
Lancelot widened his eyes: “What did you do to me?”
“Is this the extent of the Lionheart Sword Saint’s son-in-law?” Rodney grinned, revealing a set of sharp white teeth.
The next moment, pale lightning surged up to the sky, engulfing Lancelot completely.
About ten minutes later, the unconscious guards began to wake as if nothing had happened, except for… an empty cell.
“Quick, go notify Town Mayor Cedric that Lancelot has escaped!!!”
At the Nightmoon Tavern, on the first floor, in the kitchen.
Kendrick stood at the stove, diligently preparing the ingredients in his hands.
Stella sat on a nearby chair, peering out the window, her gaze seemingly reaching places more distant than the starry sky.
“Stella, what are you looking at?” Kendrick asked gently.
Stella turned her head and said softly, “I’m looking at the future.”
“Is that so?” Kendrick replied, somewhat accustomed to her. “What do you see?”
“A wedding, a grand wedding.” Stella’s lovely face beamed with a sweet smile, with flowers flying everywhere. Our family was all there, and many new friends had appeared; everyone looked so happy.
“Is that so?” Kendrick said lightly, yet he didn’t pursue the main character of the wedding further, knowing Stella wouldn’t tell him.
“By the way, Mr. Alicia and Elrose have probably left the city by now, right? Aren’t you going to check on their future? To see if they can make it safely,” Kendrick continued.
“No need to check.” Stella grinned. “They’re quite capable. If it’s the two of them together, even if the sky collapses and the gods return to the earth, they wouldn’t be opponents.”
“Is it that exaggerated?” Kendrick chuckled, then shifted the topic, saying, “Well, Stella, I’ve been thinking, when Mr. Alicia returns, should we tell him about your matters? Perhaps he could help.”
“No way, Kendrick.” Stella shook her head softly. “Remember our agreement? What you’re doing is against the rules.”
“Besides, even if you tell Alicia about my matters, she may not help me.”
Stella smiled helplessly. Maybe she’d directly draw his sword and chop off my head, considering my siblings haven’t even awakened and have already died by his hands.
Kendrick abruptly stopped chopping, hesitating for a moment: “But you’re different. You’ve already awakened and have such a kind and pure nature. Mr. Alicia should not harm you; after all, he is the most just person in the world.”
But justice can sometimes be very contradictory. Stella smiled and said: “When a person’s life is juxtaposed against the lives of millions, and only one can be saved, who is the just choice?”
Stella said softly: “If it’s Alicia, he would probably choose the latter.”
This… Kendrick had nothing to say, simply standing there in a daze.
But if it’s the Angelic Onee-san, she’d choose the former. That’s why I like her the most. Stella sat on the stool, swinging her little feet: “If it were her, she would surely stand before the whole world and declare loudly: I am the Way, I am the Principle, I am Justice. Whoever does not comply, come and fight! Whoever’s fist is bigger, gets to decide!”
Kendrick listened, somewhat dumbfounded: “Is Elrose really that arrogant? That doesn’t sound like her?”
“She is that kind of person—domineering, arrogant, proud to the extreme,” Stella said. “So they actually complement each other. As long as they’re together, they can save everyone.”
That sounds impressive. Kendrick smiled and said: “So what you mean is that we don’t need to worry about them?”
Yes. Stella nodded: “Their destinies have already been intertwined, and the task entrusted to me by the world is complete. As for the rest, it will be their responsibility.”
“Your task is complete?” Kendrick remarked, “But how come I feel like you haven’t done anything? Apart from being cute, you just mumble all day, like some kind of oracle.”
“I’ve actually done a lot of things, okay?” Stella raised her small hand, pouting in protest: “The Angelic Onee-san is something I left behind, and I helped Alicia escape from the bad things she did. I put in a lot of effort to facilitate our current situation, and you’re calling me an oracle?!”
Stella pouted, appearing very upset.
Seeing this, Kendrick couldn’t help but laugh: “Yes, yes, you truly have worked hard—oh, the agent of the world’s will, dear divine child.”
In a distant place, on the edge of the Void, a dark tower reached high into the clouds.
A young mage named Armand slowly walked up to a stern-looking middle-aged man: “Master, I’m back.”
The middle-aged man had fiery red hair, and his entire body was swirling with intense mana.
He was none other than the strongest fire mage in the world today, Vokrald.
“That child, is she well?” Vokrald’s voice was filled with weariness.
Armand naturally knew who Vokrald was referring to.
“Princess is doing well,” Armand replied, his eyes glancing. “As far as an ordinary person goes.”
“Is that so, then that’s good.” Vokrald let out a sigh, then took out an old photograph from his pocket.
In the photograph was a sweet little girl, holding a ball while playing with her parents.
Vokrald gently touched the girl in the photo, sighing softly: “Princess, I’m sorry. The Obsidian Tower is facing an unprecedented crisis. I cannot allow you to come here.”
As he spoke, Vokrald slowly lifted his gaze to the distance.
There stood an ancient sealing formation, surrounded by statues of ancient gods from the Divine Era.
The shimmering waves seemed to reflect the true will of the gods present.
In the center of the formation was sealed a silvery orb of light.
Armand stared at the direction Vokrald was looking, swallowing hard.
That thing, clearly sealed for thousands of years, still exuded a terrifying aura.
“Master, what is the current status of that thing?” Armand asked, his voice shaking slightly.
Vokrald frowned as he put the photo away: “Not well, it is continuously searching for loopholes in the seal, attempting to break it.”
“Is that so?” Armand swallowed again, his face revealing unhidden fear, “So, has the Elder Council approved that plan?”
“Basically, yes, but it’s not certain yet.” Vokrald explained: “The master of the tower has already contacted the Saintesses of the Sacred Domain, and the seven Saintesses will be arriving soon. If they can assist the tower master in putting it back to sleep again, we will be fine. But if they cannot…”
Vokrald took a deep breath: “If they cannot, we at the Obsidian Tower will also take on the mission of saving all life and sink into the boundless Void along with it.”
“The era of the gods is over; now it is the age of humans.” Vokrald spoke solemnly: “So regardless of what happens, we absolutely cannot allow it to return to this world.”
At that moment, a thunderous sound erupted, as the silver orb in the formation began to tremble violently.
Gradually, the silver orb transformed into the image of an illusory young boy.
He extended his right hand, pointing to the Void, as if trying to convey something.
In an instant, terrifying energy swept across the land, rendering all instruments within the surrounding space ineffective.
Except, for that divine sealing formation.
The statues of the gods instantly flickered with blinding brilliance, and countless golden spears imbued with divine will rained down, piercing through the silver orb.
But unlike before, this time it did not stop.
They had already set out, and what awaited them next would be an incredibly dangerous adventure.
So this time, even under the oppression of the gods and the risk of injuring his own essence, he absolutely had to deliver this matter into her hands.
A silver pillar of light shot into the sky. At that moment, elements went awry, materials collapsed, and even the very rules of everything seemed to become ineffective.
But in the next moment, a terrifying attack imbued with the essence of chaos struck the boy.
A black-haired man holding a pitch-black wand stepped through the Void and slowly entered the divine formation.
He was the most powerful mage of the present age, the master of the Obsidian Tower, the Chaos Magus King, Lloyd Salom.
The deity glanced at him disdainfully, and an overwhelming pressure instantly descended.
Lloyd fell from the sky, crashing hard onto the ground.
“Thud!” Lloyd knelt down, immediately spitting out a mouthful of blood.
With just one look, the deity had torn apart all his internal organs into shreds.
Yet this level of injury was not enough to kill him; the deity knew, and he knew the deity knew, and the deity knew that he knew.
This was just a warning.
The deity warned him not to stand above Him.
Lloyd gritted his bloodied teeth, instantly pulling out a—
“To the evil god of destruction, I don’t know what you wish to do right now, but I warn you to stop immediately, or we shall sink together into that boundless Void.”
But the deity seemed to ignore Lloyd’s words entirely, showing no intention of stopping. Lloyd’s heart was in turmoil.
He didn’t know what the evil god wanted to do, he only knew that the last time the evil god made such a stir, the Star of Ruin fell to the earth, and the entire Mornhart Kingdom nearly met its end.
Lloyd’s hand holding the orb trembled violently; he understood that there was no time left for hesitation. Waiting for the support of the Saintesses was already too late.
As the master of the Obsidian Tower, he had to make a choice.
Lloyd endured the severe injuries on his body and slowly rose, channeling his full mana, while the layers of restrictions on the orb were also concurrently lifted.
The door to the Void slowly opened, and the Obsidian Tower began to tremble violently.
Lloyd raised the orb, glaring at the deity: “Evil god, let us together turn into nothingness!!!”
Crack!
The orb shattered instantly, and the door to the Void flung wide open, a terrifying gravitational pull immediately consuming everything.
The Obsidian Tower, the sorcerers, the statues of the gods, the divine sealing formation, and the sealed evil god.
Everything vanished without a trace.
Only a faint silver light escaped the chaos’ allure, shooting towards the skies, racing towards the distant beyond.
On the quiet little path, Alicia drove her carriage slowly forward. She did not notice that a faint silver glow had quietly settled into her carriage behind her.
Elrose lay on a soft large bed, soundly asleep, as an illusory figure gradually emerged beside her.
He gently caressed Elrose’s adorable face, and an incredibly tender voice immediately resonated.
“Little girl, be sure to keep up the good work, and the rest will be entrusted to you all.”
The illusory figure instantly vanished, turning into a silver streak of light that drilled into the Heart of Shadow.

In that boundless darkness, the Shadow Demon was carefully observing this bizarre entity that had suddenly invaded his territory. Through the Demon King’s Eye, he quickly discerned the essence of that thing.
Then his mood soured instantly.
“Damn, why does everyone have an external bonus?” The Shadow Demon said with great dislike and jealousy: “I hate external bonuses!!!”
