Chapter 392

Chapter Three Hundred Ninety-Three: The Aesthetic of the Demon Clan

Turning off the Communication Device, Young Master Sang helplessly patted his currently bald head.

He hadn’t really cared much about what Bai Ming might have sent through the Communication Device; in Sang’s mind, it was probably just some random stuff copied from the rankings at Fusa Pavilion.

But seeing Shi Qingyan so enraged, it was clear Bai Ming had sent over something totally inappropriate.

“Really… whatever.”

“I’ll deal with that little brat later,” Sang mumbled to himself.

Right now, he had to pull himself together and make his expression look more sullen and aloof.

He stood in front of a massive arena located deep within the Myriad Thunder Abyss, surrounded by several mountain peaks.

This arena appeared to be specially designed for the Demon Clan to fight in their true forms, so its scale was quite intimidating. Ten or more mountain peaks surrounded the area, which was entirely taken up by the arena.

From above, it looked like a gigantic competition ground spanning the size of several mountains.

As Young Master Sang approached the entrance, he could already see numerous demon beast clans seating themselves in the stands from a distance.

The Demon Clan still mostly grouped by tribes, and each tribe could clearly be seen huddling together. Occasionally, there were brief exchanges between different tribes, but most of the time, each group was focused on their own discussions, with little interaction among them.

After some effort, Sang finally found the spot for the Fire Ape tribe amidst a sea of exotic wildlife.

“Everyone! I’m late!”

There weren’t too many from the Fire Ape tribe; only about seven or eight. As Sang approached them enthusiastically, most of the group merely cast him a sideways glance or simply couldn’t be bothered to respond.

The only one to say something was one of them snarkily mocking him:

“Hey, isn’t that Chaya? What took you so long? Helping a bunch of weak Rhino Demons?”

“I thought you were too scared to show up and were looking for an excuse.”

Turning toward the voice, Sang saw a rugged-looking muscular man looking at him dismissively.

…Looks like Chaya isn’t well-liked in his tribe, huh?

Sang sighed silently.

“I was just delayed by a stomach issue on the road. But I’m here now, aren’t I?” He thought to himself, even as he played the role of Chaya.

Pretending to ignore the mockery, he slowly walked over and sat down in an empty seat.

At the same time, Nian Nian lazily folded her delicate legs beside him and casually said, “That guy who mocked you is Mu Nala, the son of the Fire Ape tribe’s leader and Chaya’s rival.”

Young Master Sang turned to look at her.

Mu Nala shot him a fierce glare and harshly asked, “What are you staring at?”

“What about you?” Sang shot back with a playful grin.

Just as Mu Nala was about to get angry, a girl beside him suddenly grabbed his arm, saying, “Brother Mu, let’s not bicker with this gloomy loser.”

“Soon the match will start, and he’ll show his true colors.”

Sang’s heart skipped a beat as he noticed the girl next to Mu Nala.

“…Nian Nian, please don’t tell me this is the childhood sweetheart that Chaya has a crush on.”

“What’s it to you?” Nian Nian said with a mischievous sparkle, chewing on a lollipop. “Demon beasts have their own aesthetics. Maybe this is the type they like—monkeys and gorillas and such?”

She had a point.

But was this girl’s transformation a bit too random?

She looked like a blend of a flower-faced beauty, Wolverine’s hair, and the skin of a landlord!

It’s said that demon beasts transform randomly.

How did this girl manage to perfectly embody everything awful about randomness?

Especially knowing that Chaya had a hopeless crush on her for years, Sang felt this mission was about to get painfully complicated.

Forcing myself to pretend to have a crush on her? I might as well fight Long Xiao right now.

“Mama’s right,” Mu Nala sneered. “Chaya, you better be ready. First up for the Fire Ape tribe would be you.”

“Don’t lose too quickly; I’d hate to explain that to my dad.”

Sang, still dazed by the stunning beauty of “Mama,” could only gulp awkwardly and nod.

Mu Nala thought Sang was just nervous and scoffed, turning back to watch the arena.

As various clans continued to arrive, the spacious stands began to fill up.

Sang also took note of a few tribes Shi Qingyan had mentioned earlier.

For the Snake Demon clan, there was a pale-skinned man who looked like he was suffering from kidney deficiency.

For the Lion Demon clan, there was a muscular man with a lion-like mane and beard, proudly flaunting his bare chest.

As for the Fox Demon side, there was a beautiful white fox woman wearing pajamas, looking half-asleep, yawning like there was no tomorrow. This must be Arin, Long Huan’s friend.

Aside from the Ancestor Dragon tribe, these three tribes had the most power. The participants at this gathering were the strongest young talents from these clans.

“Just a bunch of young people… where are all the old geezers?” Sang wondered.

As he observed, the previously noisy stands suddenly quieted down.

At the highest point in the stands, a commanding figure stepped forward, followed by a group of imposing demon beasts.

The Dragon Lord, Long Xiao.

“Everyone,” he boomed, “It’s that time of the year again for the grand gathering! Thank you all for attending!”

“You all know the drill; let’s not waste time. This stage belongs to the youth.”

“I’ll only say two things.”

“First, the winner of this gathering will receive a Ten Thousand Year Blood Demon Dan!”

“Second, let the matches begin!”

Sang: “?”

So you Demon Clan members don’t have to listen to hours of leadership speeches before kicking everything off? Now that’s something to envy.

After Long Xiao made his announcement, he turned and returned to the highest stands, next to a group of strong-looking demon beasts, all with various impressive appearances.

…So the big shots of the Demon Clan are all up there. Sang’s gaze slowly retreated from the high seats.

But given the easygoing atmosphere in the stands, it was clear that Long Xiao hadn’t shared the news about his daughter being captured.

For the Demon Clan, this probably remained a closely guarded secret.

But that was just as well. With the Demon Clan not making a big fuss about finding anyone, Sang felt more at ease continuing his charade.

Just then, a small demon ran up to the Fire Ape tribe and shouted, “Fire Ape tribe, your first match is against the Steelback Wild Boar, Zhu Chong Ba.”

“Who will take it?”

Mu Nala and the others turned to Sang, their eyes glimmering with mischief.

…Looks like this opponent might not be weak.

Sang shrugged and slowly stood up.

If you want to see a good show, then brace yourselves.
