Chapter One Hundred Sixty-Eight: The Heavy Responsibility of Sex Education

Originally, this day was meant for packing and handing over work.

But who knew if it was due to Chun Lan and Qiu Ju’s potent medicine or Gu Yingmian’s irresistible charm.

By the time Sang Zhe groggily woke up, an entire day had slipped by just like that.

The room was still enveloped in that dim and ambiguous atmosphere.

Beside him, nestled in his arm, Gu Yingmian looked like a delicate doll, peacefully sleeping in his embrace.

Her lips still bore a faint, sweet smile.

Last night.

It was probably the first time he truly defeated a Celestial Sword Master.

Sang Zhe gently brushed through her tousled hair, then buried his head deep into the side of her face.

This gentle, soft happiness was beyond description.

He felt he could lie here forever without wanting to get up.

It wasn’t until Chun Lan and Qiu Ju timidly knocked on the door for a while that Sang Zhe reluctantly changed into loose pajamas and got up to open the door.

“What’s going on?”

“Sang… Young Master Sang and the Palace Master haven’t eaten all day. We brought some food.”

Chun Lan and Qiu Ju stood at the door with dishes in hand, their faces slightly flushed, and their curious eyes kept sneaking peeks behind Sang Zhe.

Sang Zhe cleared his throat, taking the food. “Thank you, we’ll eat soon.”

“Make sure to eat early! It’ll get cold and not taste good.”

Just as he was about to close the door, he couldn’t help but ask:

“You… didn’t wait at the door all night, did you?”

The moment he spoke, both Chun Lan and Qiu Ju’s faces turned bright red as if on fire.

“We… we just thought the Palace Master might need us if you weren’t around…”

“Um, did you hear anything?”

“No, no!” Qiu Ju hurriedly shook her head so fast she almost looked like a rattle drum. “We didn’t hear anything!”

Sang Zhe turned to Chun Lan.

Chun Lan trembled slightly, her face turning an even deeper shade of red as she averted her gaze, nervously fidgeting with her fingers.

“No… we didn’t hear anything.” She stammered, finally managing to squeeze out those few words.

Seeing their reactions, Sang Zhe felt reassured.

Good.

It seemed they had indeed been live-streaming the whole event.

……

…… Crap.

“Next time, no eavesdropping at the door.”

Qiu Ju nodded fervently, her face flushed as she kept apologizing. “S-sorry!”

Chun Lan, still a bit unconvinced, muttered under her breath:

“We didn’t mean to eavesdrop, though.”

“You two were so loud… I could hear you from across the yard…” Her voice petered out.

Sang Zhe shot her an annoyed glare.

“Who do you think is to blame? Isn’t it because of your reckless use of medicine?”

“Why did you even use that stuff? You almost caused a disaster.”

Chun Lan couldn’t help but put her hands on her hips, puffing out her youthful chest, justifying herself: “It was the Palace Master’s order!”

“The Palace Master was worried you wouldn’t have fun, so she asked us if we knew what preparations the male and female leads make in those stories before… you know…”

Sang Zhe: “…So, you showed her content from those stories?”

“Yeah.”

“Which one?”

“‘The Wild Beast’s Ferocious Hunt on the Bed.’”

Hearing the title alone sounded like a female-targeted erotic novel!

You two read that kind of thing regularly?!

And you actually dared to show that to Gu Yingmian?

Sang Zhe felt utterly speechless about the duo who dared to teach and learn.

Indeed, sex education is crucial in any world.

After a long silence, he sighed helplessly: “Next time, don’t look at everything. It’d be better for kids to have less explicit junk in their heads and instead watch something positive and uplifting.”

Chun Lan puffed her cheeks angrily, her meager bosom visibly rising and falling.

“Who are you calling a kid!? I know a lot more than you think!”

“Like what?”

“Like…” She blushed, struggling for a while before managing to say, “Like I know! Before a man and a woman… um, they have to first lick each other—”

Sang Zhe quickly covered her mouth in shock.

Qiu Ju was also blushing fiercely, desperate to stop her sister from saying such nonsense.

Chun Lan made muffled sounds for a while, yet she wore a satisfied expression as if she said something right.

Ugh.

Clearly, sex education cannot rely on those books!

With a deep sigh, Sang Zhe hurriedly tried to dismiss the sisters so he could return to his room with the food.

As soon as he got back, he saw Gu Yingmian sprawled on the bed.

She blinked at him sweetly.

“Uh, Gu Yingmian, you’re awake?”

“Mm…” Gu Yingmian’s cheeks still held a rosy hue, her voice oddly soft.

Perhaps due to last night’s first taste of forbidden fruit.

Her gaze was even more tender and doting.

As she looked at Sang Zhe, there was some kind of unexplainable emotion in her eyes.

It was like she viewed him with the fondness and affection one might reserve for a puppy.

Just the warmth in her gaze felt like it could melt him.

Sang Zhe bashfully looked away, placing the food on the table. “Want to eat something?”

She gently propped herself up, pulling the blanket to cover her chest, her beautiful eyes twinkling as she said playfully:

“I’m sore. I don’t want to move. Can you feed me, please?”

Staring into her glistening eyes, Sang Zhe found it impossible to refuse.

He picked up a bowl of food and began feeding Gu Yingmian bite by bite.

Gu Yingmian obediently opened her mouth, savoring the pampering.

After a few bites, she grew tired and curled back into the blanket.

“I’m so sleepy…”

“Then just keep sleeping.” Sang Zhe sighed, “We still have to go down the mountain tomorrow, and today already feels wasted.”

“Is this really a waste?”

Gu Yingmian shyly peeked out from under the blankets with a pair of twinkling eyes.

“Wasn’t last night… uncomfortable for you?”

Sang Zhe’s face turned crimson, and he cleared his throat, too shy to answer.

Gu Yingmian playfully blinked, then suddenly covered her mouth and giggled.

“Last night… was really nice for me.”

Thinking back to how Gu Yingmian had been last night, Sang Zhe could somewhat understand.

He now grasped the meaning behind “I can’t wait any longer, not even a moment.”

After pondering, Sang Zhe asked, “Is the reason you were so eager last night because you’re anxious about me taking you home?”

Gu Yingmian shrank back further into the blankets, her tone suddenly evasive:

“N-no, no way. I’m a Celestial Sword Master. What’s there to be anxious about?”

“Besides, no one’s gotten married yet, so why should I be afraid?”

Seeing her stammering, Sang Zhe couldn’t help but gently poke her nose.

As he witnessed her adorably shrink into the blanket, he chuckled and said:

“You really shouldn’t feel anxious.”

Because it’s actually me who should be nervous.

…It should be me.

Beneath his smile, his palms inexplicably started to sweat.
