Chapter 25

Chapter 25: Guess What This Curtain Is For?

After exiting, Young Master Sang took a left turn and headed to his next destination:

Shi Qingyan’s prison.

He pushed the prison door open with a creak and quietly approached the desk in front of the cell. After sitting down, he asked, as per usual:

“Are you planning to confess today?”

“Your XXXX’s XXX, I XXXX…”

What greeted him was a string of cold, hard insults.

Perfect.

Seeing that Shi Qingyan was still full of energy, Young Master Sang felt relieved.

So, as usual, he sat back and started goofing off, playing with his communication device.

Compared to Si Jingzhu, Shi Qingyan was remarkably quiet.

Thin and frosty, she was locked in chains, kneeling on the floor of the prison. The flimsy light-colored skirt couldn’t hide her long, pale legs, and her slightly pale, sickly features held a tragic beauty.

Although Young Master Sang hadn’t done anything to her, Shi Qingyan maintained a vigilant stare.

These past few days, Young Master Sang had been slacking off on his phone every day.

The severe torture he had imagined never materialized.

Enjoying his slacker attitude, she naturally didn’t mind one bit.

Though she still worried whether he was secretly plotting something.

But even a facade of calm was something Shi Qingyan greatly desired.

Time ticked by slowly.

As she looked out of the prison window, the sun rose higher, and Shi Qingyan realized it was nearly noon.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the prison door.

“I’m coming, I’m coming.”

Young Master Sang hurriedly ran to open the door, mumbling, “So fast!”

When he opened the door, two uniformed individuals wearing hats came in, carrying various tools in their hands.

“Just install it here, cover the prison.”

Shi Qingyan watched, puzzled, as these people began bustling around in front of her prison.

At first, she anxiously thought, could this be some new kind of torture?

But soon, thanks to the workers’ busy hands, she saw what they were installing clearly.

“……A curtain?”

It was a pale pink bed curtain.

Very large, it could completely cover the entire prison, providing a view of only a few faint pink shadows outside.

What in the world was the point of this? Shi Qingyan was engulfed in confusion.

Meanwhile, outside the prison, after the workers finished, Young Master Sang cheerfully said:

“Thanks, masters! I’ll leave you a good review.”

Once they left, he stared contentedly at the curtain.

Like admiring a piece of artwork.

“Hey.”

Shi Qingyan couldn’t help but ask, “What are you putting this up for?”

“What’s it to you?”

Young Master Sang shot her a sidelong glance and casually said, “If it weren’t for you making my work hours longer every day, I wouldn’t want to spend time here like this.”

“I’m a bit shy and introverted.”

“Especially with others around, I can’t quite loosen up.”

“So, I just put up a curtain to block things out.”

Shi Qingyan: “?”

Her mind was flooded with question marks.

She completely couldn’t understand what this guy was even saying.

Young Master Sang didn’t bother explaining.

After calculating the timing, he directly pulled the curtain up.

Shi Qingyan’s view was suddenly filled with a vast expanse of pale pink drapery.

Along with the faint outline of Young Master Sang behind the curtain.

Just as Shi Qingyan was bewildered, there was another knock at the door.

But this time, as soon as the person knocked, Shi Qingyan felt herself jolt as if struck by lightning.

“Master, are you in there?”

Zhang, Zhang Xiaoying?!

Shi Qingyan immediately leaned over the prison bars.

At the door, Young Master Sang happily rushed over to open it for Zhang Xiaoying.

“Right on time, it’s still just noon!”

“I was worried you might get hungry, Master.”

Today, it seemed Zhang Xiaoying had dressed up just for the occasion.

Her hair was arranged exquisitely, and her cheekbones were dusted with a light powder, giving her already fair face a rosy glow.

She was wearing her treasured floral silk long-sleeve skirt, the blue and white colors accentuating her gentle demeanor.

She looked like a proper lady, standing shyly at the door, holding a food box, nervously fiddling with her hair.

“I am a little hungry.”

Young Master Sang took Zhang Xiaoying by the hand to the desk, making her sit beside him before gleefully opening the lunch box.

“Let’s see what my little Yingling has prepared today—whoa, so much?!”

Hearing the term “little Yingling,” Zhang Xiaoying momentarily felt her heart skip a beat.

She suddenly became nervous, lowering her slightly flushed face, seemingly afraid to meet Young Master Sang’s gaze.

On the other side of the curtain, Shi Qingyan watched in disbelief as that graceful figure sat down next to Young Master Sang.

And she could faintly smell the fragrance of the food wafting through.

Shi Qingyan felt like her eyes were watering.

“Young Master Sang… you bastard!”

“How dare you brainwash Xiaoying, making her cook and clean for you every day like some servant!”

“Xiaoying, come to your senses! Don’t succumb to such a disgusting man! We women must be independent and strong, not diminish ourselves by doing such household chores!”

But unfortunately, Shi Qingyan didn’t know that this curtain wasn’t just a regular curtain; it was custom-made by Young Master Sang.

Its only function was one-way sound transmission.

In other words, sounds outside the curtain could be heard inside, but sounds inside couldn’t go out.

While Shi Qingyan was passionately denouncing Young Master Sang’s despicable deeds, outside the curtain, Young Master Sang was happily sitting together with Zhang Xiaoying, enjoying a cozy meal.

“Yum, this is delicious.”

“It’s good if the Master likes it… I made the dried tofu crispy and tasty today; would you like to try a bite, Master?”

“Yes, yes, yes, I want my little Yingling to feed me.”

Saying this, Young Master Sang opened his mouth eagerly.

L-Little Yingling?!

Zhang Xiaoying felt her face burn instantly, her heart racing uncontrollably again.

Did the Master just treat me like his wife?

It must be so!

Only a wife has the privilege to ignore coworkers’ stares and bring lunch to her husband at work.

Ah, how embarrassing, the Master is really…

I’m not even psychologically prepared for this…

These kinds of flustering words.

It was the first time Zhang Xiaoying had been called such affectionately by Young Master Sang.

Though it felt a bit sudden, the overwhelming happiness wrapped around her completely, leaving her no time to reflect.

She felt her limbs tense up stiffly as she couldn’t help but slightly lower her head and tremblingly reach out to pick up some food.

But just as she was about to feed him with her chopsticks, panic set in, and she dropped the food on Young Master Sang’s pants.

In a brief moment of chaos, Zhang Xiaoying was about to apologize clumsily.

But the next second, Young Master Sang’s devilish voice rang out:

“Oh no.”

“How clumsy is my little Yingling~”

“Not good, looks like I have to punish you properly, dear.”

With just one sentence.

Both Zhang Xiaoying and Shi Qingyan felt their hearts race simultaneously.

(Today I wasn’t feeling well, slept for thirteen hours, and can only post one update for now.)
