Chapter 819

I didn’t set up any traps specifically to harm the enemies.

Wolves are beings with special powers and abilities, and the traps with strong hostility have a high chance of being triggered.

Also, since it was ‘night,’ I couldn’t actively intervene, so I planted a simple trick.

‘Creating fake chicks.’

Wolves eat chickens during the day and chicks and eggs at night, and one important thing became clear from the description.

Wolves ‘do not discriminate when it comes to food.’

They can eat anything, not just ‘chicken feed’ like golden chickens and chicks.

I utilized that point to create magic chicks using the grains and the feathers of the chicks piled up in my house.

I made the magic chicks look like they were sleeping, then built several small buildings in the field and placed one of them inside.

I couldn’t create an artificial soul, but I could at least mimic even breathing and small heartbeats during sleep.

Unless the enemy was someone who was very skilled in magic and mana, the chances of them noticing before swallowing them would be high.

Of course, during the process, some of the chicks became bald, but that’s better than dying.

“This worked out.”

[For real lol]

[LMAO]

[Wow]

[They fell for it haha]

[The level of the wolf]

[Isn’t this too easy?]

[Since they eat all the feed, I thought they were done for;;]

[Great relief]

Five golden blue wolves couldn’t withstand the extremely potent sleep magic and collapsed altogether.

While I thought about feeding poison to them since I was at it, using poison would likely raise their suspicions.

‘For now, there’s a reason to keep them alive.’

I examined the wolves one by one, first binding their hands and feet with magical chains so they couldn’t move.

I exhausted all my mana to create the chicks, but as time ‘accelerated’ and it became midnight, my mana was somewhat replenished.

“This should be enough… after all, there isn’t much time permitted at ‘night.’”

It seems I would need to wait for the ‘day’ tomorrow to carry out my plans.

As expected, during the ‘night’ of the ambush, they couldn’t wake up unless an incident occurred.

I awoke just after the wolves swallowed the fake chicks.

I looked down at the last wolf that was holding on.

The wolf, resisting the sleep magic, looked up at me.

I gently patted the wolf’s head and smiled faintly at its bravery.

“Don’t worry. I won’t kill you.”

[Oh no]

[Whoa whoa]

[Wolf dissection show;;;]

[What on earth are you trying to do…]

[Poor wolf]

[Right, why did you invade…]

[Karma is karma]

[ㅠㅠㅠㅠ]
Quack!

[Day 2 is here!]

[Last night, there was an attack by wolves, but no one died.]

[Bonus! Two extra chicken feeds have been given.]

[Current chicken feed – 27 pieces]

“Oh.”

As morning arrived, my eyes opened wide.

Powerful sunlight streaming in through the window. And a pretty good news message too.

Of course, it’s only been about 1-2 hours since the trial began, so maybe “morning” is a bit of a stretch.

I got up from bed and habitually tidied up my blanket, finishing my preparations to head out.

Swoosh.

Then I smiled at the camera.

“Good morning.”

[Lilha]

[Good morning~]

[Hi hi hi]

[? It’s 1 AM right now though]

[LOL]

[Ah LOL but anyway it’s morning]

[Info) It was night just 5 seconds ago]

[Heading to see the wolves]

[Are the wolves okay?]

“Wolves? It’s going to be impossible to release them.”

To unlock the chains, the magical formula must be solved.

Unless you have power twice or thrice the mana infused in the magic, it’s nearly impossible.

As I stepped outside, I saw the chickens and chicks that I had untied last night running around in the fields.

I had hidden them underground in my house, and the smell and signs of life were completely concealed, so even the wolf hunters couldn’t find them.

After carefully checking the chickens and chicks, I headed towards the spot where I had chained the wolves.

The very place where the fake chick had been devoured.

As I opened the door and stepped inside, four wolves were still fast asleep…

[Oh]

[???]

[What the heck LOL]

[They’d probably be more comfortable just sleeping…]

[But they’re awake LOL]

Grrrr…

“They’re awake, huh?”

One wolf had woken up.

The very wolf that managed to hold on till the end yesterday.

The wolf was trying to unravel its chains with all its might, but in its still-sleepy state from the sleep magic, it was a hopeless task.

‘Even if it weren’t sleepy, it would have been impossible.’

Grrrr…

Bark!

“Hmmm… I guess sleeping would have been better for you.”

Bark bark bark!

“Well, it can’t be helped.”

I nodded and pulled various equipment from the bag I had brought with me.

With every piece I laid down on the floor, the wolf’s expression turned increasingly pensive.

And when I took out the last piece of equipment, the wolf began to have convulsions.

Clang! Clang!
Clank!

You’re putting up quite a fight, to the point where my chains are trembling.

I worried I might get hurt for no reason, so I tightened the chains even more and grabbed the last piece of equipment in my hand.

“Um.”

Tap tap.

“This should be enough.”

Woof woof woof!!!

“That’s a sting.”

Today, the wolves will be reborn.

“Crazy! Raccoon!”

Barely able to open his eyes, Ur was horrified.

He thought everything was over when he fell asleep after eating a strange chick.

The raccoon, the master of the chickens, wouldn’t let an intruder go, and we, who failed the attack, would all die miserably.

Woof…?

So when he opened his eyes again, he was extremely flustered.

Clank!

Strange iron bindings on his hands and feet.

The iron had an eerie power, one of the most special he had felt since gaining ‘blue fur’.

“Why not just kill me and be done with it?”

It didn’t make sense.

If they were going to kill him, just kill him—if they were going to eat him, just eat him. Why tie him up?

“Are they saving me for later?”

But that didn’t make sense either.

Wolves lived in packs, and the raccoon knew that well too.

If time passed like this, the captain would realize that Ur and the wolves weren’t coming back.

Then the captain and the other wolves would raid the farm, and if one of them frees him, the enemy numbers would increase dramatically.

If they were going to kill him, they should have done it right away.

“He seems to have some brains. But why?”

It didn’t add up.

But there was no way out.

All Ur could do now was hope that the captain would figure this out soon and come to save him.

So that was the plan, but…

“I can’t help it.”

The raccoon started mumbling to the air and then began pulling something out of his leather pouch.

It was white iron pieces that looked sharp like a beast’s teeth.

Chick. Chick.

One, two iron pieces were laid on the ground.

Now that he thought about it, they were quite similar to the weapons used by the ‘monkeys’ living in the pond to the east.

Could it be that the raccoon was planning to…

‘…Crazy?’

That was when Ur finally grasped the situation.

Sharp weapons, iron pieces binding his hands and feet, and that sinister grin…

‘!!!’

That raccoon is trying to ‘torture’ us!

It’s planning to slice our flesh and skin with those sharp tools, tearing us apart!
After separating the neck from the body, the body will be eaten by the raccoon, and the head will be hung at the farm entrance to warn everyone.

“To those who invade this farm, this will be your fate.”

Ur shuddered.

Monkeys are brutal; they commit senseless slaughter and violence even when they don’t need to eat.

The raccoon didn’t resemble a monkey, but somehow the vibe felt quite similar.

What was said earlier likely meant to scream a lot.

It probably meant to scream in endless torture while giving himself pleasure (just kidding).

Ur felt an overwhelming fear and desperately tried to escape.

But did that actually attract the attention of the crazy raccoon?

The raccoon tightened the chains further and approached slowly with a tool that combined thin iron with a strange cylindrical rod.

“Hieeeek…!”

“Now, this will sting a bit.”

It was getting closer.

It was getting closer.

It was getting…

“Hmm?”

“Did you faint?”

The wolf, who had been freaking out over the ‘surgical tools’ since earlier, suddenly rolled its eyes and fainted.

I planned to put it back to sleep after a bit of pain during the procedure, but this worked out nicely.

I chuckled softly as I pressed the needle of the ‘syringe’ into the wolf’s body.

“What a funny wolf, right?”

[LOL]
[For real, LOL]
[It just fainted on its own]
[Big LOL]
[It looked like it was scared]
[Lily must have done something, ㅠㅠ]
[The raccoon with the knife is indeed scary]
[The raccoon with the knife is somewhat funny]

“Come on. You shouldn’t consider this a knife.”

It’s just a syringe.

Compared to the scalpels I took out earlier, this is practically cute.

Saying that, I pulled the end of the specially made syringe.

Swoosh…!

A blue energy was sucked into the syringe.

A device that absorbs the ‘Blue Power’ possessed by the Golden Blue Wolf.

I made this in my own way, based on what I had seen in Lasty’s lab, and this blue power was akin to the essence of chicken feed.

In other words, it would allow the wolves to produce additional ‘chicken feed.’

“I need to catch more wolves.”

Preferably the bigger ones.
